With the clamour for “Rate My Team” opinions ramping up, we thought we’d not only provide a place to collate such requests, but also allocate a window and some FFS team members to address them.

The first Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery will take place this evening with myself and Jonty joined by an array of moderators and contributors in a bid to answer the first batch of Rate My Team queries and player pick questions.

What’s more, for the later surgeries, we’ve recruited some real experts to help us out.

Next week’s sessions are provisionally booked in for Wednesday and Friday and we’re lining up a cast of former Fantasy Premier League champions to join us in giving their views on your queries.

We plan to run Google Hangouts for part of the session, allowing you to drop in and listen to the variety of nonsense being discussed as we go through the threads.

Tonight’s surgery is booked in for 9pm until 11pm UK time and we’ll be posting an article to host your queries an hour before we get online.

Keep an eye out for the article which will appear in the community section this evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

a bit of feedback please gents.....

    Ruddy / Butland
    Ivanovic / Shaw / Francis / Matthews / Targett
    Ozil / Hazard / Walcott / Sterling / Ritchie
    Rooney / Wilson / Deeney

Wilson rotating with Deeney / Ritchie rotating with Matthews.

I may well WC to Aguero though around GW4. Id appreciate some thoughts dudes

Matthews not nailed on, why not get O'Shea?

Personally the idea of having two budget strikers makes me feel quesey... imo thats where you should prioritise your spending!

            The midfield is expensive 9m + 8.5m + 9m + 11.5m +6m = £44m

After looking at all the RMTs, it's made me wonder... how would the a decentt team look if we didn't have to worry about Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal?

Personally I'd have something along the lines of:

    Butland
    Huth - Lescott - Cresswell - Williams - Cedric
    Mane - Chadli - Ki Sung-Yueng - Payet - Puncheon
    Berahino - Kane - Pelle

I'm interested in seeing how resourceful we can be without the heavy hitters that have locked themselves into our team 🙂

Still struggling with this. Will Kos outscore Mert enough to make option b worth it. Butland, Schmeichel or Ruddy may do a Panti this season.

    a) 2 x 4.5 keeper rotation + Mert

    OR

    b) 1 x 4.5 keeper + Kos

    OR even

    c) 1x 5m keeper + Mert

Then which 4.5 keeper to go for. There are quite a few options actually. Speroni, Butland, Myhil etc.

Can alsways transfer to whoever turns out to be the in form 4.5er

i'm definitely getting there with this team... only players i'm not totally sure about are:

    1. Cedric (double southampton if I go with Mane)
    2. Mane (better value elsewhere in the price range?)
    3. Ramsey ( is he the best option in the Arsenal midfield...)

    any thoughts?

          Fair enough.

But Bilic is usually defensive. EL effect doesn't kick in before 10 gws or so and you wouldn't play Jenko away to Arsenal anyway.

Double Southampton doesn't really matter if ones a defender n one a mid imo

Wouldn't say ramsey is, think I'd rather have Walcott, cazorla or ozil ahead of him!

    3. That Was Easy!
      • 11 Years

Cedric is a great choice, nailed in a still strong backline and has solid fixtures.

Mane, for me, at 8.0 is just not worth it. He is hit or miss, and at 7.0 there's Chadli, Milner/Hendo and Tadic, and for just .5 more it's another ARS mid.

Ramsey is a good pick and always seems to look threatening, however it seems like his place might not be 100% secured like Ozil/Caz.

Personally, I'm going with Caz, and possibly doubling with Wally.

i really, really want Walcott, but his lack of security of starts really does put me off.

He has the potential to score a hattrick GW 1 or the potential to sit on the bench and get 20 mins at the end.

Sterling may well start up front. He's the safer option.

West Ham have contacted Inter to talk about D'Ambrosio even though Inter doesn't want to sell him unless a 10M euros offer comes along. Really hope that doesn't happen because it'd mean that Jenkinson would have to sit on the bench for most of the season.

6.5 is definitely decent. There's quite a few players who im worried are gonna go through 'second season syndrome' - Kane, Sakho, Mane, Eriksen, Pelle, Clyne, Bolasie, Ulloa etc. --

all had decent seasons and their teams finished high up, so was it down to riding the wave of a good season or will they get found out this year. Really tough to decide that.

    anyone going for Alderweireld?

Spurs should be pretty fit this year and Poch has seeminly prioritsed his defence. Could be a good option at 5?

Their entire defense is a wait and see and it'll be difficult to judge in GW1 since they face United. Hopefully he'll become an option later on.

I'll wait to see how they pan out in FPL prefer PVA Cedric to start

Adebayor was spotted at Bodymoor today, since left. Rumour is its a loan move that's been agreed and should be announced before tomorrow midday.
Coming in at 6 and pretty much nailed on, would he be viable 3rd for you? Worth the 0.5 extra over what Deeney and Wilson offer?

    Benteke at Villa without Sherwood:
37 goals in 85 games, goals per game: 0.43

    Benteke at Villa with Sherwood:
8 goals in 8 games, goals per game: 1.00

    Adebayor at Spurs without Sherwood:
28 goals in 87 games, goals per game: 0.32

    Adebayor at Spurs with Sherwood:
14 goals in 24 games, goals per game: 0.58

      Very good option.

But I'd wait a few weeks to see how he settles.

Wenger annoys me, Walcott is definitely deserving of starts but Wenger still won't give them to him. Sam as Pellegrini and Kolarov. Both would be great to have in teams if they got starts.

Who does Walcott displace? Giroud? Giroud, for me, offers a lot more to ARS than people give him credit for. That said, I don't think he's the quality class striker they need.

Andy, could you take a look at this, perhaps?

        Ruddy
        Cedric - Huth - Francis
        Hazard - Silva - Caz - Henderson
        Rooney - Kane - Sahko

Bench: Butland; Jenks, Fletcher, Targett, 0.0 ITB

Looking at your past comments I definitely enjoy reading your thoughts!
My concerns are a 4.0 defender amongst a relatively weak backline, but I really like my front 8.

Yeah, think I'm going no to keep Courtois for first 3 GW and then overhaul with rest of squad...

        Maybe :/

Anyone playing 352 with a bench fodder 3rd striker? Look at it this way:
    Hazard + 4.5 or Costa + 4.5 + 0.5
Even though it may be more "traditional" to have a bench fodder 5th mid instead of a benched 3rd striker, I know I'd take hazard over Costa + 0.5.
Obviously this logic isn't flawless as striker spots are scarce, but I really don't see many strikers that I like at all this year and certainly no cheap one at the moment.
    Thoughts?

Too many 4.0s for my liking. I have one and it concerns me lots. Rest looks great, like the Caz/Kane picks.

Midfield needs work. Not sure about bolasie, schniederlin or depay. Downgrade a defender
