Southampton’s Jordy Clasie suffers an injury setback. Arsene Wenger welcomes back Hector Bellerin ahead of the Crystal Palace trip. Swansea’s Ki Sung-Yeung is set to return to training following injury, whilst David de Gea remains unavailable for selection for United.

Hector Bellerin is back in the Arsenal squad after missing the opening day loss to West Ham with a muscle injury. Meanwhile, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky remain sidelined for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger has also confirmed that Alexis Sanchez is ready for the weekend, having worked hard during the week.

Newcastle will have Vurnon Anita available for the Swansea clash, with the midfielder returning to training this week after being stretchered off in the stalemate with Southampton. The weekend, however, will come too soon for Paul Dummett and Remy Cabella who remain out with hamstring and thigh injuries respectively.

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that midfielder Jordy Clasie is out for two to three weeks with an ankle injury sustained whilst playing for the Under 21s in midweek. Fellow summer signing Steven Caulker is also ruled out for the weekend with a sinus infection. Koeman remains hopeful that Ryan Bertrand could return to training in two weeks.

Tim Sherwood has conceded that Jack Grealish, Carles Gil and Jores Okore remain sidelined through injury for Villa’s encounter with United tonight.

Roberto Martinez issued some encouraging news ahead of Everton’s trip to Southampton. Gerard Deulofeu, Mo Besic and Aiden McGeady are all expected to be available after missing the season opener with Watford, whilst Kevin Mirallas was due to return to train yesterday after recovering from the ankle problem that forced him off last Saturday. Leighton Baines is out for 12 to 14 weeks, however, after undergoing ankle surgery.

Watford duo Steven Berghuis and Almen Abdi have returned to training after missing last weekend’s draw with Everton through injury. The pair are expected to be available for the weekend, Quique Sanchez Flores has suggested.

Despite reports of his arrest last week, Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Diafra Sakho has trained normally during the week, and forward is available for selection against the Foxes. Elsewhere, Pedro Obiang has returned to training for the Hammers and is in contention for the weekend.

Spurs have a fully-fit squad for the visit of Stoke, according to Mauricio Pochettino. Hugo Lloris and Danny Rose are in contention for first-team returns, whilst Andros Townsend and Alex Pritchard are also available after recovering from injuries.

Mark Hughes has revealed that Peter Odemwingie is ruled out for two weeks with a hamstring injury. Fellow attacker Bojan is expected to step up his recovery with a run-out for the reserves at the weekend. Hughes is also optimistic that Marko Arnautovic and Marc Wilson will be available for the Spurs trip, after injury setbacks suffered at the start of the season.

Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-yeung is set to train after limping off with a hamstring injury against Chelsea last weekend – Garry Monk is expected to make a late decision on his fitness. Defender Jordi Amat is back and available for selection after recovering from a broken metatarsal suffered at the end of last season.

Louis van Gaal has confirmed that David De Gea remains unavailable for selection, due to ongoing transfer speculation. Marcos Rojo remains short of fitness and won’t be considered for the trip to Villa Park.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Hey guys. Nice to have the fantasy Friday to Monday yah.

Stick or twist with this bunch?

    Cech,
    Williams, Azpi, Cedric
    Sterling, Haz, Sinclair, Walcott, Mane
    Roo (c) , Sakho

    Wilson, Lescott, Huth

If I was going to transfer was thinking Theo > Liv mid or Haz > Alexis.

    Thoughts appreciated gents

Given the new wildcard rules, I think using the wildcard very early is a good option. There's no need to save it for the DGWs as in previous seasons, it will have expired before then. I'll probably wait until the international break and try to make some cash from price rises and ditch anyone who gets injured. Any thoughts.....

    Any changes needed here?

    Schmeichel
    Ivanovic Bellerin Cedric
    Hazard Walcott Depay Mane
    Kane Pelle Sakho

    Schwarzer Francis Surman Saylor

Tempted to swap Hazard out for Payet this week and then next week swap Kane for Aguero. Madness?

    Mahrez or Gradel after GW4?

I'm new to this so I'm not sure if this fairly complicated move will work, could anyone advise?

Use this weeks transfer to bring in Romero before he goes up
After kick off use next weeks transfer to swap out Walcott before his price goes down (would be getting rid of him soon anyway)

Then use my wildcard after the weekend to bring in Sanchez/Aguero, taking in mind the extra data gained from the weekends matches.

Is it possible to use a transfer THEN use a wildcard in the same GW?

Just use the wildcard when you make the Walcott transfer after the deadline

maybe he wants more time to decide to wc or not 😛

Possibly, but if it's pre-planned then he could just do that

Basically I'll be dropping Walcott eventually but if he's going up tonight, I might as well not lose that .1m, however I'd like to see what happens this weekend before using my full wild card.

as soon as you activate WC all transfers get wiped and come under WC banner if in same GW

      1. John t penguin

so you can make say 3 transfers for -8 then WC on deadline day and the -8 gets wiped, players are still in your team unless you WC them out.
people used to do this to make profit on players during week they didn't plan on keeping

you can also do it if you WC at start of say two week international break.
if you have idea that players ABC might rise 0.2 over the period, you buy them in and after profit sell for who you want at end of period, even players you sold them for . just need to be careful you don't lose value on selling players

The fact Sunderland have one of the worst top flight defences I have ever seen and bought Kaboul in over the summer to compliment them seems to be lost on other people.

They were pretty solid the latter half of last season, but prone to the occasional brainfart

Not sure I agree with that. They are an odd one defensively. They actually tend to get an ok amount of CS's, but at the same time they get absolutely plastered occasionally (i.e 8-0 southhampton)

    Romero - (Butland)

    Williams - Gomez - Cresswell - (Cedric - Darmian)

Payet - Eriksen - Walcott (Vc) - Henderson - (Albrighton)

    Aguero (C) - Gomis - Pelle

Lads is Hendo a good option for this weekend against Bournemouth? I think he could go either way and I have 3+ options waiting in the wings.

    1. PainInDiaz
      • 14 Years

He'll get his odd goals and asists every now and then, and Bournemouth might just be it. It's unpredictable, which makes him not so good pick FPL wise. Not explosive either.

His returns will be lesser than last season in my opinion.

I'm thinking the same, I picked him because I thought he'd really step things up in light of Gerrard leaving and return good points almost weekly, but he seems like a liability at the moment. I'll think about it some more.

Ayew seems a popular choice. The money saved should be useful for getting big hitters like Aguero or Sanchez.

    Courtois + Hennessy-owner here.

I have no other Chelsea defs in my team, and I will no doubt have other transfers to tend to in the coming weeks. I.e. get Aguero in a double transfer move. If I get rid of Courtois today, I'm pretty sure it will lead me to a hit down the line. On the other hand, it's more like a -2 hit, since I otherwise would have no keeper this week.

    Stick or twist?

same dilemma here, courtois only has a 1 match ban so stick

That's what I've been thinking all week.
It's just that it's so boring with a big fat 0.

You think Hennessy could get some games?
