As mentioned on Tuesday, we’re teaming up with FantasyBet as one of our weekly game partners for the season ahead. Having listed some of my targets for Gameweek 2 in Wednesday’s Weekly Shop article, I’m now looking to turn my £100 pot into profit.
For those unfamiliar, the player prices and scoring system in Fantasy Bet are almost exactly the same as in Fantasy Premier League, making it an accessible weekly and daily format for those who pay a lot of attention to the official game.
Fantasy Bet allows leagues to be set up with any combination of any fixtures in a given Gameweek’s fixtures – from all ten to just a single match – also enabling more unusual options such as a league that only includes players from teams outside the top four, should you wish to do so. Fantasy Bet also uniquely run ‘Flash’ games, in which you must pick your entire squad within three minutes before it auto-completes – there’s a free game this week, so I’ll enter a team into competition and see how I get on. The £250 free entry game this week gives you a chance to try Fantasy Bet out and potentially win money with no funds required.
The Bottom Line
In this section, I will be looking back at my performance in the previous week and updating the cash situation in terms of profit or loss. As this is the first week for Fantasy Bet, I have the whole £100 to spend.
This Week’s Stake
Here I’ll be running through which games I will be entering and how much I will be risking on Fantasy Bet. There’s always a chance that I will enter more games but I will cover this is the bottom line next time.
Weekly games – I start by entering the £250 free entry game, as it would be silly not to. There’s a cheap weekly pot for a £1.10 fee, with a guaranteed £50 pot on offer, that I’m also setting up a team for. I then have the Scout Picks team in the Fantasy Football Scout £1.10 league.
Daily games – There’s a Saturday game called Double Up with a £70 guaranteed payout that covers the five 3pm kick-offs – this takes up £3.30 of my pot. The Super Sunday game with two matches has an £11 buy-in – I’m going to side with caution this week and avoid it.
Matches – There’s only one entry at the moment but, if this increases, I’m considering entering the Friday Warm Up for £2.20, which just covers the Aston Villa versus Manchester United match.
Total Stake: £5.50
Scout Picks League
There will now be an opportunity for anyone in the community to take on the Scout Picks in the weekly Fantasy Football Scout game on Fantasy Bet. There will be a £1.10 entry game but also a free one so that anyone can have a shot at beating the Scouts. The budget for the first XI in our Scout Picks is 82.5m but, as the bench usually takes us over 100m, we will not be able to pick exactly the same substitutes – however, we will endeavor to fit in as many as possible. A captain and vice captain is also required for Fantasy Bet teams and I will be picking these each week.
The winner each week will be posted here with a screenshot of their team, so make sure it comes in on budget to qualify.
