Such inconsistency from a lot of teams and thus players..

Not sure Wildcarding this early is the answer..

It's a really strange start to the season in fairness.
Think the gap between 'top' teams and others is closing.
    At least for now.

Come on Harry Kane.. You got to be getting at least an assist today.
Thought Sakho had an assist though.

It would seem that the vast majority on here, including me, have had a nightmare 1 and a half game-weeks.

Has the collective wisdom of the FFS Community failed, and is it therefore justified to play the WildCard?

Or, is it far too early for that? Do we just need a bit of patience and perhaps a 4pt or 8pt hit? 1 and a half weeks is not a big enough sample to play the wildcard effectively.

Earlier today I was poised to hit the WC. Rooney, Cedric, Pelle (c), Defoe, and Walcott amongst others made a compelling argument to do so, however I will try to be patient and trust my judgement and the collective wisdom of the FFS community, but if i'm still in the duldrums at start of week 4, I may be compelled to shake things up.

I'd be very interested to hear your views.

Far too early for wildcard unless you can't get 11 out

Too much emphasis is placed on the first half wildcard. It should be the second one that you need to optimize the most.

You can use the first one when you have more information than 1 or 2 games for each team

This maybe the first time you've watched Payet & Ayew but for some 1 or two games is all you need to see if they are
            i)playing
            ii)fitting in
            iii)looking good

Won't be too late, might be the difference between having a 4.5m defender instead of a 5m one.
You will gain so much more information over the next few weeks

          • 16 Years

Indeed thats why you wildcard early as it might be the difference between a 4.5m defender and a 5.
Not sure you really understand the concept of wildcarding early and avoiding drops and cathching risers.

When a template emerges here and you are far away from it, thats the time to wildcard. Right now its so up in the air. You will want to wildcard again in 3 weeks

Don't get sucked in by the naysayers. Have a critical look at your and decide for yourself. Sometimes it's a case of analysis paralysis and you have to act or get sucked into the mire.

I didn't even use my FT after GW1 but if my team was hopeless and I saw the light I'd go for it.

Just because you hear a lot of crying and moaning doesn't mean the vast majority have had a mare. Low scoring weeks happen. Proper players appreciate and accept that.
Some will have made a decision to two they regret, but that's hardly a mass fail.

Didn't one of the previous winners (Tom) play his WC in the second week so lets not listen to naysayers it really depends on who you pick and not when you play your WC.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. The range of views does illustrate the dilemma faced.
I'm holding back on the WC I think and a key reason is that although I know who I would like out of my team, I am not convinced that the replacements will fare a great deal better.

I'm torn as well. Wildcarding seems rash, but I'm already likely going to be burned by listening to those who urged patience. I was set to transfer Ozil for Payet but held off. Payet got 9. I hope Ozil can match it.

I think it makes sense to wait but could go either way. 2 seasons back when Yaya and Ramsey ran riot early on, I had a similar dilemma, that time I left it far too long to WC and got left behind. The difference now is that there are not many top players firing on all cylinders, so there is less to lose. You can afford to hold the WC until things become clearer. The low and mid priced players rarely maintain their high scoring.

There's too little data for it to be worthwhile right now.

Even the ticker isn't fully informed with how teams really look up front and defensively.

For now you can compare players and see stats for them with last weeks data and this weeks so far.

Doosra has some tables that are great, but again, need more data to get true rewards IMO.

It does seem rather mad to sell a player who hasnt even played yet, and is my captain this week... I dont know what to believe anymore...

it doesnt make sense, what if benteke is in form tmrw and he rises youve not really gained anything...and benteke was banging goals in for villa against all top teams its not about the fix its about form, bottom line, tekkers is a much better player than gomis.

True, but Benteke has Arsenal away next, and him to Gomis frees up Aguero funds also.

      I might join you

If Mahrez is rising I might do both

still doesn't leave enough for Mane to Kin sadly but ditching Sakho can take care of that

Coates to Amavi. Aston Villa's next 4 games: Palace (H), Sunderland (A), Leicester (A) and West Brom (H). Good move or could do better as I have 3.5 itb and will need only that 2.5 for Rooney -> Aguero?

    Gomis going up tonight?

FFF and Fplstats seem to have different percentages. Which one to trust?
