Once again, there was a minimal amount of new injuries over the weekend’s matches for Fantasy managers to fret over, with Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino playing down concerns after withdrawing Harry Kane and John Terry respectively. Steve McClaren is a manager with worries, however, with injuries in midfield, while his first choice right-back will miss their Gameweek 3 trip to Old Trafford through suspension.

Chelsea
Jose Mourinho denied John Terry picked up an injury in today’s loss at City after being subbed off at the break. Perhaps tellingly, this was the first time in Terry’s career under Mourinho that he had been replaced mid-match, with the Blues boss explaining:

“No [he was not injured], it was a decision I made. I know that Zouma is the fastest in the squad, and in that moment Manchester City were playing on the counter attack. Zouma is different than John, and my decision was proved right as Zouma was in complete control. I left him out because tactically we needed to make a change, and I was proven right as we controlled the game in the second half.”

Mourinho also stated post-match than Oscar, who missed the Etihad trip, remains a doubt for the Gameweek 3 trip to West Brom…

“Oscar’s injury isn’t a big one but it stops him from playing today and probably next week”

Leicester City
Back-up stopper Mark Schwarzer missed yesterday’s win at West Ham due to illness, the club’s official twitter feed confirmed.

Newcastle
Steve McClaren has concerns in midfield for the trip to United after Moussa Sissoko was withdrawn at the break against Swansea due to a groin problem. The Magpies boss also explained Siem de Jong’s weekend absence:

“We lost a big player in Moussa. We don’t know the seriousness of it yet…We think it (De Jong injury) is just a kick on the shin which flared up. He nearly made it (in time) but unfortunately didn’t (but) it should not be too bad.”

Sissoko has since tweeted on his injury, confirming an adductor problem.

Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino played down his second-half withdrawal of Harry Kane in yesterday’s draw with Stoke. The Spurs boss confirmed Kane’s problem was no more than cramp, having started training a little late due to his Euro U21 exertions with England:

“Harry was very tired and had some cramps in his calf, so to take the risk with the score at 2-0, I didn’t think it was a problem to take him off. He came later in pre-season and it is normal. He is better but he needs time to arrive. We knew before the end of last season Harry Kane would play a lot and the consequences you can see now. This is the truth, at 2-0, after 65 minutes, I think it was enough for him. We don’t take risks with his body”.

Swansea
Garry Monk remains optimistic that Ki Sung-Yeung will return to action for next week’s trip to Sunderland. The Swans boss refused to take any chances with the South Korean at home to Newcastle, after he was forced off with a hamstring injury away to Chelsea last week:

“It wasn’t really [right] to take the risk with him. Of course he’s pushing to play, but I think we’ll give him that little bit more time. He’ll be back in training next week ready for the Sunderland game.”

Suspensions

Newcastle are set to be without Daryl Janmaat for the trip to United after the right-back received his marching order for picking up two yellow cards away to Swansea. Discussing his upcoming absence, the Dutchman – who was booked on both occasions for incidents involving Jefferson Montero – owned up to his Liberty folly:

“I’m very disappointed. It was stupid of me and I have to apologise to my team-mates, the supporters and everybody, because trying to win a game with ten men is very difficult. The first yellow card was clear. The second one, I lost the ball, he (Montero) ran past me and in a split-second I touched him. I pulled him back and that was stupid.”

West Ham are set to be without Adrian for the next three league matches after the Spaniard’s weekend dismissal at home to Leicester. Dismissed for serious foul play after an incident with Jamie Vardy, the Hammers keeper will miss clashes against Bournemouth, Liverpool and Newcastle before returning to action in Gameweek 6 away to Man City. Darren Randolph (4.5) is set to deputise in his absence.

Do i drop Haz for Yaya?

    Schmei - Butland
    Kosc - Williams - Cedric - Gomez - Oxford
    Haz - Mane - Ayew - Mahrez - Bentelab
    Aguero - Benteke - Sahko.

    98.4 with 2 ITB and 1 FT.

Trying to chase a price rise without using my WC.

    Also Cedric out for Kompany/Kolarov?

Some crazy ref decisions. Gotta feel bad for Adrian, he had no idea Albrighton was there.

Schmeichel should have been off as well at the end of the 1st half, penalty and 2-1 at the break against 10 is a whole different game. Biased but i don't the Adrian foul is a red either.

Schmeichel was a penalty, but no red. Adrian wasn't malicious, but still a red.

As a Leicester fan I'm biased too, but even I think Schmeikers should have been sent off.
I have no doubt the Adrian thing was unintentional, but when you look at it on the replay, it looks pretty awful.

It's a bad connection on Albrighton but if there's absolultely no malicious intent you could have easily seen a yellow there. It's pretty much what everyone was expecting (except me, GW1 Courtois, GW2 Adrian and I knew immediately I had cursed him)

lost at bottom of last page, WC or 8 point hit?

    Adrian Schwarzer
    Baker Coates Cedric Francis Huth
    Hazard Walcott Depay Payet Mané
    Rooney Sakho Deeney

-8: OUT - Adrian, Walcott, Rooney
    IN - Hart, Mahrez, Aguero

You have Coates, Baker, Francis, Mane and maybe Hazard who will fall in price this week.

Probably the -8 will it do, it hurts but it means you can use the WC later if things deteriorate further.

I'm guessing that Hart will be the recipient of the red card this week. 😉

I love how, currently at least, I have a green arrow among those who started in gw1, yet have a red arrow overall. That's right, over 70k players have more points in one week than I have in two. I suck at fpl.

I decided to keep my wildcard intact and gamble on a 12 point hit.

I also plan to "risk" keeping hazard and mane for one more week. As I expect a reaction from both Chelsea and Southampton to the previous weeks defeats.

I took a gamble and gambled on city maintaining thier form against everton three superb fixtures after that.
There were guys who were going to drop in price so I got rid of some for that reason
        Out
        Ritchie
        Coates
        Sterling
        Rooney

        In
Westwood (great bench guy frees up funds)
Mangala (hope he stays as centre back beside Kompany)
        Aguero (obvious)
Silva (risky: but his form looks too good to pass up along with fixtures)

You need to reap a 0.2 rise, though, and the problem is that most of the players that are rising by that much in a week are ones that you might want to keep. If there are some bandwagons in force that you have no intent of joining, then by all means, go for it.

Dunno why folk are hesitating with Kun. Last season when he did wel,l before his injury, his ownership was over 90% and his (c) was at 80%. What's the point in waiting a week or two until he reaches those levels again ?

The only time to take advantage is before he is in every team...not after...

    Myhill (McCarthy)
    Kompany Darmian Richards Ward Baker
    Sanchez Yaya Cabaye Ayew Mahrez
    Kun Rooney Watmore

Have a feeling rooney will do well GW3

But will Rooney do well in GW4-15? I think you should look into finding value elsewhere. Good team, though, Baker and Watmore only parts that sucks.

Baker won't play, but then again you probably don't need anything other than a 4.0 body, given the other defenders.

I have three of your five mids and may have a fourth before long, so obviously I like that part.

I'd be deciding now, which other striker you want to go for, cuz I fear you will be putting Rooney on the blocks after this weekend. I already sold him

I have Mings, Coates, Mane and Wilson risking the drop, worth avoiding?

Mane may drop but will go right back up again with his first brace.
Wilson drop will not be recovered, so I might try to avoid that one.
If Mings turns into a regular once he is match fit, he will likely come back up.
No comment on Coates, cuz I don't know

    Or
    Sell?

Tempted by Mane >> Silva transfer to be fair
