After scoring 16 goals and providing eight assists in his maiden campaign in the Premier League, hopes were high for Alexis Sanchez coming into the new season, despite concerns over the Chilean’s fitness levels after his exploits for his country in this summer’s Copa America.

With just a single assist to show from the first four Gameweeks, though, many of Sanchez’ 12% ownership in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) will soon start questioning whether the Arsenal attacker is worth his considerable 11.0 price tag. In this ‘Monitor’ article for members, we compare the former Barcelona man’s underlying statistics from last season to this in order to ascertain just why he is failing to live up to his 2014/15 exploits.

No, but I'm not supporting England either. I'll be supporting no injuries for United players.

Good Swiss lineup anyway, Timm Klose is pretty rubbish though. Granit Xhaka is very good.

    Fabianski mccarthy
    Kolarov darmain francis Alderweireld Oxford
    Hazard sanchez payet mahrez Westwood
    Aguero gomis Wilson

If hazard flops again I might use 2 fts to go --> silva & Alderweireld --> someone more attacking ie Clyne/cresswell.
    Thoughts?

People always get excited about young, talented England players. They make teams for the future, and predict glory.

Here's one (of many) past examples.

    2003 - BBC Sport - England's Future Stars.
Here are the names of a few:
Michael Tonge, Neil Mellor, Wayne Rooney, Carlton Cole, Michael Dawson, David Bentley.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/sports_talk/2641739.stm

    Here's a predicted 2018 team, from 2008:
Hart, Bertrand, Sam Hutchinson, Jordan Spence, Krystian Pearce, Joe Mattock, Scott Sinclair, James Henry, Henri Lansbury, Ashley Chambers, Victor Moses
    http://soccerlens.com/future-england-lineup-2018/5534/

And also in 2008, these 20 were tipped for England stardom:
Jose Baxter, Mark Beevers, John Bostock, Nathan Delfouneso, Fabian Delph, Danny Drinkwater, Jordan Henderson, Gavin Hoyte, Henri Lansbury, Josh McEachran, Jacob Mellis, Victor Moses, Nile Ranger, Jack Rodwell, Freddie Sears, Jonjo Shelvey, Danny Welbeck, Aidan White, Jack Wilshere and Michael Woods.
    http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2008/nov/13/1

    My point? 🙂

Yes, we've got some decent youngsters. And I know they're older now than those listed above - but it's about fulfilling potential. We always have had promising players... You've just forgotten about those, because most of them didn't fulfil their potential.

England have failed to turn talent into trophies for years. Don't be so deluded to think something's going to change because Shelvey had a decent game against San Marino. 😉

Rant over. 😛 I'm off now...

        Delph, Hendo, Wilshere.

        Shelvey on the up.

Wilshere has/ had the most potential on that list, but injuries are non-stop with him. Quite unfortunate. Great player.

Also, all these comments about England, pro- OR anti-, are so much pie in the sky, until we see them at the Euros. Then we will be able to see what they are made of.

I like Delph. Too bad he's wasting his talent at City...

Hope he's at least a regular player in cups.

Azpilicueta (eve) or Francis (nor) ? Can see both conceding so comes down to attacking threat (which I'd favour Francis)

If Koscielny is out they'll both play

Play azpilicueta. Youre pretty much taking taking no cleanie for granted which is weird for a mourinho team. Better chance of him keepig a cleanie than francis getting attacking points

Quick question, has Gerrard retired from International football or is he still in contention?

He's still playing regularly in the MLS and is still quite capable of putting in a shift

Sorry, but Gerrard hasn't put in a shift in over a year, he's such a ball watcher when his team are defending.

True, hadn't looked too good at the International level but still looked half decent for Pool.

His confidence went from 100 to 0 after that slip in the title race. He wasn't jaw dropping but he wasn't awful as you're making it out to be.

You rate Delph for England but not Rooney? Okay...

Gerrard was a major reason for the failure at the World Cup, Rooney wasn't at all.

😀 Im always wary of quoting the 13/14 season as some people barrel down with the comments "but he scored 10 goals" and "look at all his beautiful long balls to Suarez"

They have both been poor internationally. But expectations are far different as Roo is the main striker.

Going to keep Mane again this week, ft will be Diouf to Wilson and then Mane to Coutinho next Gwk. Really wanted to keep Diouf, I will leave it as long as possible and wait and see if he is out, then I will just downgrade a Def instead.
