An extraordinary death threat ode to Granville provided the inspiration and backdrop for this week’s Scoutcast.

My co-host wasn’t sure whether to feel flattered or mildly panicked by a community post like no other.

Recovering from the menacing tribute, Granville joined forces with Jonty and myself to assess the merits of the deadline day arrivals, before grappling with another round of community questions.

We rinse through the De Bruyne debate, the heavy-hitter slump, briefly consider buying Jonny Evans, before tentatively giving out dating advice – again inspired by the imaginations of you, the community.

    Genuinely think Begovic could be 5.5 by the time Courtois returns. The tempation to get him in for a hit is a strong one. Chelsea can't and won't be so bad at the back forever

      That Chelsea defense has been giving me poor signs right from the start. First the Courtois red, then no CS! I am sounding a a bit superstitious but I am confused over whether to get Begovic or Cech right now. Though Begovic did look great when he replaced Courtois in the Swansea game.

        Yeah they seem a bit cursed don't they? I just don't see Mourinho putting up with it much longer, defensive reinforcements have been made so he's conscious of it. Cech seems a bit expensive when you consider Begovic is .5 less. I just think Begovic has much more upside, with more saves and potential rises.

      Courtois (on his return) at 5.0-5.2 will be a bargain, and Begovic will be an easy swap to him when he returns.

      For me, having Begovic on the WC is looking like a great move.
