League leaders Man City have plenty to fret over this weekend, with Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Raheem Sterling all doubtful for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus. There’s worries in the red half of Manchester, too, after Wayne Rooney missed the 3-1 win over Liverpool with a hamstring complaint. Here’s our regular round-up of all the fresh arrivals onto the treatment table…

Crystal Palace

Damien Delaney is carrying a knock so was replaced by Brede Hangeland in the starting lineup against Manchester City, while Jason Puncheon was withdrawn at the 83-minute mark with a knock following a foul by Eliaquim Mangala.

Everton

Seamus Coleman and Muhamed Besic both sustained suspected hamstring injuries during Everton’s 3-1 win over Chelsea. Post-match, Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“We’ll have to assess Seamus and Mo and see how they are. But the important thing was that everyone who had to be alert and come on to the pitch was fully focused and I think the strength in the squad is starting to show now. Having those numbers helps you be consistent over the course of the season and clearly it showed today.”

Manchester City

Sergio Aguero was forced off at the 25-minute mark during Manchester City’s trip to Crystal Palace, having taken a strong blow to the knee from a crude challenge from Palace’s Scott Dann. Sky Blues boss Manuel Pellegrini implied that the Argentina international will be touch-and-go for their midweek Champions League tie against Juventus:

“It was an important kick on his knee. We’ll see if he can recover between now and Tuesday. It’s very difficult to say now. It’s important to see how he recovers. We’ll see.”

Aguero, meanwhile, took to Twitter last night to play down the seriousness of his withdrawal:

“Thanks everyone for your concern. I got a hard hit and it prevented me from playing more. It doesn’t seem to be a serious injury though.”

Earlier this evening, he gave another update on his condition:

“I had studies done today, to be completed tomorrow. We’ll have a clearer picture then”.

David Silva was ruled out of the Eagles clash by virtue of an ankle complaint, but Pellegrini is optimstic he’ll recover in time to face Juventus on Tuesday:

“Silva is out as I think it would be a risk for him to take another knock on his ankle. I hope he will be OK for Juventus.”

As for Raheem Sterling, the former Liverpool starlet is expected to shake of a minor hamstring injury:

“Raheem has a problem with his hamstring so I think it was a risk for him to play today. I hope he is 100% fit for Tuesday.”

Manchester United

Wayne Rooney was sidelined for the Red Devils’ 3-1 victory over Liverpool after suffering a hamstring problem in training. He is expected to miss their midweek tie against PSV Eindhoven, but Louis van Gaal believes he could be passed fit for their trip to Southampton next weekend:

“He is injured so we have to take care of him. I think he is very important for us and I don’t to take any risks so that’s why he doesn’t play today. I don’t think he will play against PSV Eindhoven, but maybe he shall play at Southampton. We have to wait and see if he can play against PSV because we still have three days to go.”

Stoke City

Jonathan Walters was not included in the Potters’ matchday squad at Arsenal due to a flare-up of his knee injury. Mark Hughes admitted that the Ireland international will undergo a scan in the coming days.

Tottenham

Nabil Bentaleb missed out against the Black Cats with an ankle injury and is expected to be ruled out for three to four weeks having suffered ligament damage.

Ryan Mason was involved in a heavy collision with Sunderland keeper Costel Pantilimon while he scored the winning goal. Mauricio Pochettino revealed after the match that Mason will undergo checks on Monday:

“We will assess Mason tomorrow. It was a big knock on the knee. It was a great goal and we showed how we try to play.”

West Bromwich Albion

Jonny Evans was taken off after 85 minutes against Southampton, although Tony Pulis later said that the new arrival likely just suffered cramping.

Just seen the Palace-City highlights. How did Yaya not get any attacking points during the last possession of the game. Firstly he should have went himself, secondly the kid should have scored and thirdly what was Navas doing pelting a cross at Yaya's head when he was wide open at the far post. Disaster all round.

I was on about the kid who he actually passed it too... the guy who scored the winner with a complicated surename...kid was easier to write 🙂

navas hit the ball like he was in a contest on who can hit the ball the hardest. Absolutely shocking cross

A softer cross would have seen a goal

It wasnt a cross, watch it again, it actually hits keeper before it hits yaya

Couldn't agree more. It was nearly a shot come cross as his shooting is so bad. His miss earlier in the game was like something from a junior Sun league game. Awful.

If it was Silva in his place it would have been a simple pass for an easy tap in. Pelle needs to axe Navas ASAP once all his guns are fit.

Does anything Navas do shock you? He is god awful in the final third. Worst midfielder in the league in that area for me. By a distance. Well maybe not by a distance, Willian close behind.

Nothing he does surprises me.....just makes me irate when one of my FPL players is free at the back stick for a simple tap in and he tries to take his head off haha.

Well, i've finally decided to go 3-5-2 for a -4.

Any thought/opinions on this lot? (Oxford to be transferred out soon)

    Fabianski
    Darmian - Kolorov - Gomez
    Mahrez - Ayew - Sanchez - Yaya - Pedro
    Aguero - Gomis

Don't think the difference between the two is worth 4 points for any given game. I would rather own Alexis, but I'd do that swap only on a free. Hazard is still world class, could pop up with returns, and is on pens. Not as if he's a dud although he's yet to begin firing. Further, for all of Alexis' favorable stats isn't not like his first name is Riyad or anything..

    Midfield as is.

    Alexis Sanchez
    Yaya
Shaqiri (good fixtures weeks 6 to 11)
    Ayew
    Westwood

    Sanchez leaves for Mahrez, right?

No must about it really. I would just as soon be talked out of Mahrez. I just feel like I may be a stubborn non-owner like people with Ramsey & Yaya 2 seasons ago... and that just burns week in and week out.

My son just started watching Breaking Bad. I'm so jealous of him, to have that whole series stretching out ahead of him as a new viewing experience. If only I had the time, I'd watch the whole thing again.

Highest scoring team you could own right now and how they should line up.

    Myhill / Gomes

Kolarov / Kompany / Sagna (Shaw, Smalling)

    Mahrez Barkley Ayew Hoolahan Redmond

    Gomis Wilson (Vardy)

    Cost: 87.6

Early days, but I'm trying to plan my transfers for the week. Advice would be great!

    Myland
    Kolarov Francis Prodl Muniesa Targett
    Sanchez Silva Payet Ayew Mahrez
    Kun Pelle Wilson

    2FT, 0.2itb

Want to do Pelle --> Benteke, but don't have the funds.
Assuming Silva/Kun aren't injured, what would you do?

    A) Sanchez --> Pedro
    B) Payet --> Sako (unless Payet does something substantial tonight)
    C) Other

    1. Walsh

That defense is terrifying. I'd turn attentions there with your transfers rather than spending them both on attack.

Tbh, I'm happy with that for now. Watford have 3/3 home cleanies, Targett has 3 cleanies in a row, Francis has 2 assists already. I think I'll get a WBA defender next week for Muniesa, but otherwise happy.

        Any suggestions on front 8?

Targett about to never play again with Berty back. Bournemouth have zero clean sheets so far. Watford defender needs to be rotated. Stoke have zero clean sheets so far.

No suggestions for the front 8, I hold fast with my suggestion to attend to the defense 🙂

Its like an home crowd equivalent for Federer...Was just thinking of post match interviews, and Djokovic jokingly asking Federer to ask the crowd to pass on some love.

I think of weird things 🙂

Btw don't remember who, but someone from England on twitter was complaining its past midnight here, get the match on!

Ok guys I'm a regular poster here but i have to admit im stumped after last night!! Would really appreciate peoples thoughts on this:
    Butland

    Azpil // Kolarov // Cedric

    Yaya // Mahrez // Payet // Ayew

    Aguero // Costa // Benteke

Currently thinking of Costa --> wilson (and maybe payet to pedro for -4) and free up some funds. Other comments are appreciated! Or downgrade tekkers to wilson, keep costa and bring in coutinho?

Definitely keep Benteke for the next 2 GWs

Thanks mate! Only got 0.5 right now though.

Think coutinho will likely outscore tekkers over the next 2 GW, but I also wanna get wilson is also as he's got a good run of games.

You think tekkers/payet to coutinho/wilson is too kneejerky?

    Hey Community!

I'd like to think I don't often require assistance, but i really would appreciate some opinion if you may.

    Butland Ruddy
    Darmian Kompany Richards Jenkinson Gomez
    Yaya Sanchez Mahrez Pedro Westwood
    Aguero Gomis Wilson

    2FTs, 0.6 ITB,

    A few options:

    1) Jenkinson > WBA defender
    2) Aguero > Benteke
    3) Aguero & Jenkinson > Benteke & Kolarov / WBA defender (shift Kompany in a few weeks)
    4) Butland & Ruddy (giving me nothing) > Guzan & Myhill
