We take Fantasy Football seriously. So much so, myself, Granville and Jonty find time each week to join up online and natter semi-aimlessly about it. Some of you even go so far to watch and listen. We all take Fantasy Football that seriously.

That’s why we dedicate this episode of the ScoutCast to Fuzzy Warbles, whose passion for Fantasy Football drove him to scribe a long letter to the Premier League. In doing so, he raised his head above the parapet to gain the attention from the mainstream press and various Twitterati.

Predictably, that attention was somewhat confused as to why someone would care so much about a few points to muster an 800-word email.

We know why.

The three of us are more than happy to waste more words discussing “CedricGate”, the catalyst for Fuzzy’s irritation.

Before that, we analyse Gameweek 9, discuss the contrasting fortunes of Jamie Vardy, Anthony Martial and Eden Hazard, plus assess the Gameweek 11 fixture swing. We may have a few chuckles along the way, but we’re taking it very seriously.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first broadcast live on our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. You can view the full version on the larger movie player below.

For the edited audio version, you’ll need this link or the smaller player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

VVD vs Bertrand for the long run

23 CBI (Clearances, Blocks and Interceptions) by Virgil van Dijk was more than any defender. The Southampton centre-half continues to impress at both ends of the pitch since arriving at St Mary’s – he was second only to Robert Huth (two to three) for attempts inside the box amongst defenders last weekend and scored his second goal in just five appearances. From Gameweek 5 onwards – i.e. when Van Dijk made his debut for the Saints – he has won more headers (26) than any other defender, is top for touches in the box (18) and is second for efforts on target (three), underlining his differential appeal with a mere 1% ownership in Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

          Seems decent numbers?

They are decent but it's tough to rely on a CB for goal threat. He's a good pick but I think Bertrand is better. Every time I watched a Saints game without him and Clyne last year it was torturous.

Not too sure on Bertrand, too little stats to back him up. But I'd gamble on him based on his previous season performance.

I got in Bertrand just based on his last season performances, VVD looks like a great option too but I usually prefer fullbacks.

Just planning to get Coleman or Lukaku next week depending on how my team performs!

Lukaku would be for Martial although I really like United's fixtures and he seems to be involved in their goals and good chances.

        Or

Coleman for Azpi / Kolarov , although I like Kolarov's fixtures but with Clichy's back and Sagna being shifted to RB now.. I dont know

Maybe just a bit. Though all 4 team have a very nice run ahead of them. May be worth it to have the options around. I've considered mixing in and out with a 4-4-2 during that stretch with very similar defenders.

        Ok just read that:

Martinez confirmed the news and added that Bryan Oviedo is 100% ahead of this weekend's Premier League clash against Arsenal. "Bryan is fully fit and Leighton should be back soon, which gives us fantastic options - that's what you want," Via Sportsmole

Never mind, Galloway wouldn't be a safe option then.

      2 5.5/6 - 1 5.0 - 1 4.5 - 1 4.0 Rotate the 5.0 and 4.5 depending on fixtures.

Like to play one keeper 5.5 and 1 4.0

They play different positions. Sagna and Kolarov both seem first choice. Expect some rotation, though. Zaba for Sagna (who could certainly take back his spot) and Clichy (once healthy) for Kolarov.

in my opinion all 4 are good full backs and if full backs can generally swap sides (as sagna is showing right now)

True, but they haven't traditionally swapped at City. Could happen, of course. I do think Kolarov is first choice. He will miss some and, given he was hurt, who knows this weekend. My guess is both he and Sagna start.

I obviously don't know, but I think he will be. The other two are playing better right meow. Zaba was poor mid-week.

I am not saying Zaba isn't good. I am simply guessing about this week.

I've thought about it but only because he has become a FFS bandwagon. Meaning, thats the the only reason I've thought about. I'm not sure I want to make a transfer I myself am unsure of. I also want to save the transfer so I can do Sakho to Lukaku next week. I'm still open to persuasion on Vardy though

Yep no bandwagon he's the real deal and a great Captain pick for this GW too, as your going 3-5-2 might be worth considering Barkley over Lukaku for say Sterling maybe. But feel you need some Vardy

If I was on my WC, Vardy would be in. He's on some ridiculous run of half a season averaging a goal or assist a game, or something similar. He's an insurance policy just as Kane was in his glorious season - cheap and won't gain you anything in the OR but you certainly won't lose out when he gets another double figure score.

I wish I had him over Berahino.

So, i gained no knowledge or whether Sturr will feature on sunday. Klopp claimed that they aim for him to play, but no guarantees for that.

My dilemma is, do i save my FT for next week, where I have already couple of ideas, or transfer out Sturidge for other striker?

AoA with this front 8 this week?

    Sanchez Mane Payet Mahrez Ayew
    Costa Pelle Vardy

    A) AoA, save FT
    B) Bench Ayew, save FT
    C) Bench Mane/Pelle, save FT
    D) Sell Ayew for 4.5 to free up cash

    Thanks

      Which defender benched for AoA?

Probably Dawson Kolarov (Skrtel Naughton Coloccini). Skrtel to be benched.

He's been out for personal reason I think. Not sure he's been dropped

D only works if you have 2 FTs.
          Not sure which one tbh.

This. Only worth doing next week when you'll have 2FTs

Everything in order for this weekend?

    Butland

    Bench: Hennesey Tadic Bertrand Souare

Looking good, thought after watching Liverpool last night I'd have more confidence playing Bertrand over Moreno

Attack looks pretty solid imo. You need another 'keeper mate!

I'd suggest cech but since you already have Hector I'd say you probably need maybe Lloris or Begovic. I'd go for the latter as I've been following the blues all season and Mou has completely gone back to basics. Cleansheets are priorities numbered 1,2 and 3 and its going to be like that for a while. As a Chelsea fan myself, its depressing af to watch lol but should be good for some cleansheets.

Also you need some city attacking cover. Ayew > Sterling worth a shout? If you can afford KdB, nothing like it.

Yeah I agree. Guzan cannot get a clean sheet. The only thing bad about begovic is that he won't be first choice forever.

Yeah but unless you want to double up on defence, he's your best option. Courtious is going to be eased back into the team anyway so Begovic is going to be useful till at least mid December.

Hey guys G2G? Apart from a crappy bench 😛

    Myhill
    Toby Kolarov Janmaat
    Sanchez De Bruyne Marez Payet
    Pelle Vardy(c) Sturridge
    Bench : Mccarthy Muniesa Wanyama.
Already took a 4 pt hit to bring De Bruyne in as my team has been a mess for a while now.
I got too excited about Klopp at Anfield and brought Sturridge in for Aguero last week but something is telling me to hold on for a couple more gws to see how he fares. Yes, im impulsive af lol

I've almost done it for the last 5 gws only to choose a 'better' alternative and have had to watch the guy outscore my choice every time apart from the Aguero show a couple of weeks ago. Im trying not to overthink things this time. Its been a bizzare season to say the least.
