There’s plenty to play for in tomorrow’s Euro 2012 final round of qualifying matches. With so many teams still in the mix, we bring you the likely starters ahead of a crucial night for Fantasy managers, with some brief South American news thrown in for good measure.

Simon Mignolet, Vincent Kompany and Moussa Dembele are all likely starters for Belgium’s trip to Germany. All three were part of the starting XI that hammered Kazakhstan 4-1 –with Kompany finding the net- on Friday, as they moved up to second in Group A. They need to equal or better Turkey’s result in Azerbaijan to clinch a play-off place- Germany are already through as group winners.

Russia need a point at home to Andorra to clinch top spot in Group B. Andrei Arshavin and Roman Pavlyuchenko started in Friday’s key 1-0 win in Slovakia and both should continue in the first XI as Dick Advocaat looks to clinch the group in style.

The Republic of Ireland still have much to play for as they play host to Armenia. A point would be enough to see them grab a play-off place, though they could still finish top if Russia lose to Andorra- an unlikely scenario. Kevin Doyle was amongst the scorers in Friday’s 2-0 win in Andorra and there will be plenty Fantasy managers with an eye on this one- the likes of Shay Given, John O’Shea and Damien Duff all started, though Stephen Ward picked up a yellow on Friday and is suspended.

Northern Ireland have nothing more than pride to play for as they head to Italy. Nigel Worthington’s side will have to make do without Chris Brunt though- the West Brom player is sidelined with an ankle problem. Chris Baird was the only other Premier League starter on Friday in the 2-1 home defeat to Estonia.

Serbia need to win in Slovenia to book a play-off spot. Friday’s 1-1 home draw with Italy saw Branislav Ivanovic net his country’s goal, with Aleksandar Kolarov also starting. Despite reports suggesting Nemanja Vidic was hoping to be fit, he didn’t make the sub’s bench.

Edin Dzeko will travel to Paris with Bosnia for a winner takes all showdown. Dzeko opened the scoring on Friday evening to set his country on their way to a 5-0 win over Luxemburg and will be a key figure as they square up to Laurent Blanc’s side.

France are still sweating on the fitness of Yohan Cabaye and Patrice Evra ahead of the Group D game. A point is enough for the hosts, though whoever finishes second is still assured of a play-off place. Florent Malouda, Younes Kaboul and Samir Nasri all started in Friday’s 3-0 win over Albania and look set to continue in Laurent Blanc’s first XI tomorrow night.

Sweden are assured of a play-off place but host Group E winners Holland knowing a win would see them automatically qualify as best runners-up. Both Martin Olsson and Seb Larsson started and grabbed a goal apiece in Saturday’s 2-0 win in Finland.

Holland’s 1-0 win over Moldova clinched their place as group winners. Bert van Marwijk’s side have a 100% record so far and will be looking to maintain that as they travel to Sweden. Fantasy managers will be hoping rotation comes into play here- Michel Vorm, Rafael Van der Vaart, Dirk Kuyt and Robin Van Persie all started in Friday’s triumph.

Croatia’s 2-0 loss in Greece means they will likely finish runners-up in Group F- Greece need just a draw in Georgia to qualify automatically. Results elsewhere, however, could still see Croatia qualify as best runners-up, so Spurs trio Luka Modric, Niko Krancjar and Vedran Corluka all have plenty still to play for.

Wales are out of the race for qualification but their 2-0 win over Switzerland saw nine Premier League players start for Gary Speed’s side. Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale will look to take their goalscoring form to Bulgaria on Tuesday night, with Fantasy managers also keeping a keen eye on the likes of Swansea defenders Neil Taylor and Ashley Williams.

A 4-1 win in Cyprus means Denmark host Portugal already assured of second place in Group H. A win would see them finish top, though a draw would favour the visitors’ better head-to-head record- Thomas Sorenson and Nicklas Bendtner will be certain starters.

Two goals from Nani helped Portugal to a 5-3 win over Iceland on Friday night. Level on points with Denmark, they know a draw would be sufficient to ensure top spot. Raul Meireles also seems assured of a starting role in Tuesday’s crucial showdown.

Spain continued their 100% record with a 2-0 win over the Czech Republic. Vicente del Bosque started with a trio of Premier League players; Juan Mata, David Silva and Fernando Torres- Mata opened the scoring, while Silva picked up an assist for Xabi Alonso’s second. While Spain are coasting at the top of Group I and are already through to next year’s tournament, their opponents on Tuesday have everything to play for.

Scotland travel to Spain still in with a chance of a play-off spot. Craig Levein has injury worries over Barry Bannan though the midfielder is feeling positive of his chances despite a gash to his right heel. Scotland are currently in second place in Group I and will cement a play-off place if they equal or better the Czech Republic’s score in Lithuania. Expect plenty of Premier League players to be involved in this crucial match- as many as eight started Saturday’s 1-0 win win in Liechtenstein. Reports also suggest Charlie Adam and Phil Bardsley are both carrying knocks.

In the South American World Cup qualifiers, Pablo Zabaleta took to the field in Argentina’s 4-1 win over Chile, with Sergio Aguero’s groin strain keeping him sidelined. Gonzalo Jara played for the visitors and both have games against Venezuela and Peru respectively tomorrow.

Luis Suarez scored in Uruguay’s 4-2 win over Bolivia and now faces a trip to Paraguay.

The African Cup of Nations qualifiers are now done and dusted. Yaya and Kolo Toure both scored in Ivory Coast’s 2-1 win over Burundi, with Cheik Tiote also playing for the victors, as they finished as the only team with a 100% record.

What is annoying me is that i had him from GW1 and only sold him because he was supposed to be injured vs Blackburn. If he gets crocked you can have a good laugh at all the trigger happy buyers!

    Repost in new page:
    This is my team:
    Vorm
    Gabiddon Bosingwa Dalaeet
    Nani Young Walcott Taarabt
    Suarez Rooney Adebayor

    Bench: Hennessy Dyer Simpson Brown
    0.1 in bank

I am planing to make two transfers for 4 pts hit.Young to VDV to free up cash for Dalaeet to Woodgate.
How’s the transfers sound? Is Woodgate the best option at 4.5?

That's quite similar to my team. I was considering Young > VDV, but decided that he is a bit too fragile / doesn't get enough time on the pitch to justify his price tag.

So in the end I swapped Young for Ramsey, and am using the spare cash to upgrade DeLaet to Kompany and another 4.0 defender to Woodgate. I reckon Woodgate is the best at 4.5 especially for the next few fixtures.

Also using the spare cash for a frontline of Rooney, Aguero and Adebayor/Suarez rotation.

Do young to Silva or Nasri then get the best defender you can with whatever you've left.
Tierney at Norwich is an option at 4 but theres a few others as well.

Issue for me would be whether Young will play. Seem to think he might have a knock but not showing as such on Scout or FFL. VDV against Newcastle with their defensive record is arguably tougher than Young against pool with their's. After all Young is third highest midfield scorer so far.
If he plays then leave it to next week and save the 4 points. (you'll probably have other ideas by then anyway).
Trouble with SAF he never gives any hints on injuries until the team selection - as all Rooney holders know!!!

Afternoon chaps, how's my team looking for GW8? I know Ward isn't exactly a great option at the moment but he's away at Brom and i'm more than happy to play him until GW9 when I do Ward > Enrique 🙂

    Ruddy
    Ward Bosingwa Kompany
    Ramsey Moses Nani Silva(C)
    Rooney Suarez Adebayor

    Given Dyer Simpson Brown

I like it, but prefer Simpson to Ward. Can see Newcastle shutting out spurs at home, especially if Ade remains an injury doubt. As you say though Ward is a pretty good choice as well. West Brom are hardly hammering in the goals at the moment and Wolves are just the kind of side to frustrate them.

We're going to address this - it's clearly an urgent issue. On my screen replies show up with a grey background and all original comment posts are in white. Clearly, on some screens, this is not clear - that could simply be down to the configuration of the monitor.

We're going to indent first replies and put a grey bar to the left of all levels of reply. We're also considering boxing the original posts a bit more clearly. Please bear with us - we're working through teh snags and ths is now high priority.

I'd rather have a decent front 7 with Dyer and then if my sub is a defender at least if they are half decent they might come on for 6 points every once in a while. Also Petrov has a great next 6 fixtures and he's the only one you would rotate. If Cleverley comes back in great form you can always get him in for Petrov if he goes off the boil.
I'd look at upgrading Ruddy to Kenny or Barnett to Woodgate personally.

"Pulis has praised Robert Huth's attitude since the German lost his place in City's Premier League starting line-up for their last two games, against Manchester United and Swansea.

The Stoke boss says he wouldn't have expected last season's player of the year to be happy about a place on the bench, but said he was rotating his defenders as City deal with the demands of the Premier and Europa Leagues, and the Carling Cup.

Pulis also has Ryan Shawcross, Matthew Upson and Jonathan Woodgate to choose from among his strong central defensive resources.

He said: "Huthy will play loads of games this season. He's been very professional about it."

I guess it sucks having a bunch of central defenders that can't really play other positions. And you really must not be versatile if Tony won't play you elsewhere.

So for those who own Aguero, are you sticking or transferring out?

    I currently have:
    Aguero - RVP - Best

Suarez would probably be the best switch, as he has NORWICH wba SWANSEA after the match vs United.

Sturridge is another option but think he'd be a shorter plan.

I have Best and probs ship him out after his next to 2 home games. He's a very short term option if you bring him in. Ditto with Ba.

There's Agbonlahor at I think 7.1 but he'd be better suited for GW9, as they face Man City away.

Zamora I've looked at, but not sold when I look at their fixtures. Zamora seems to be a 'home boy' and they don't have any nice looking home games for a while. So I'm leaving him be.

Sturridge is a reasonable option. I can see him doing very well away at QPR and Rovers but they're home games aren't ones you'd expect a heavy win.

Then again Arsenal aren't exactly solid at the back and Everton could have a few goals in it.

So Sturridge would be my pick.

Whenever Sturridge has been fit to play for Chelsea. AVB has played him. Only problem is that he been pushed out to the right flank.
I think the other 3 are gonna leave you very frustrated.

    hmmm mulling this one over:

    (A) Given to Krul & Brunt to Ramsey- for a 4 point hit

    or just

    (B) Brunt to another 5.9 mid (eg Pilkington, Song??? - any others?) on a FT

Obviously I'll wait till after the internationals

that's what I'm thinking. Song usually has a phase of knocking in a couple of goals and if Arsenal score a couple he could be in among them!

Strangely he is more willing to play the ball forward than Arteta, who always feels the need to turn at least 270 degrees before playing it to someone else. I am also not sure whether some of balls Ramsey plays can even be described as passes.

Aguero and Young out as they'll probably miss the next game and you can use the money by downgrading them to Ramsey and Suarez for example to upgrade your IMO awful looking midfield (Moses and N Dyer is 4 pts from 2 players most weeks)
