Arouna Kone hits a hat-trick as Everton hammer Sunderland at Goodison. Romelu Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu both deliver double-figure hauls, whilst Steven Fletcher nets for the third time in the last four for the Wearsiders. Elsewhere, Graziano Pelle and Steven Davis bag a goal apiece as Southampton see off local rivals Bournemouth at St Mary’s.

Kone Treble Downs Black Cats

Arouna Kone was the unlikely hat-trick hero as Everton carded a 6-2 victory over Sunderland at Goodison Park. The Ivorian frontman was making his first start in five Gameweeks and also bagged an assist, engendering a 20-point haul for the round. Although Kone is priced enticingly at 4.8 and could profit from the Toffees’ excellent schedule through to the New Year, it’s worth remembering that Steven Naismith enjoyed a similar flourish in Gameweek 5 (hat-trick against Chelsea) but soon disappeared off our radar.

Romelu Lukaku rewarded the 50,000 Fantasy managers that recruited him prior to Gameweek 11, serving up a goal and two assists. In light of the Merseysiders’ stellar run of fixtures from now until Gameweek 19, Lukaku’s potential worth has been well documented – and that’s already coming to fruition. With head-to-heads against Aston Villa (home) and Bournemouth (away) in the next three, his 26% ownership will be eagerly anticipating further attacking returns.

Gerard Deulofeu bagged a goal and two assists against the Black Cats, underlining his differential potential. Although Roberto Martinez’s penchant for rotation on the flanks renders him a risky punt, it’s worth noting that the young Spaniard has now started four of the last five and racked up a goal and five assists over those fixtures. James McCarthy scooped his first assist of the campaign to round off Everton’s scoring.

Sunderland Swept Aside

Steven Fletcher and Jermain Defoe both found the mark as the Wearsiders slumped to their fourth successive road defeat. Impressively, the former now lays claim to three goals and one assist in the last four Gameweeks, bolstering his case for investment as a budget (5.0) third forward. That being said, it’s hard to look past the similarly priced Odion Ighalo (5.4), who’s second in the league-wide scoring charts (seven goals) this term.

Sebastian Coates earned an assist but negated two of those points with an own goal at the 55-minute mark. Patrick van Aanholt’s assist was his first attacking points of the season as the Dutchman was handed a first start since Gameweek 7. Regardless, Sunderland’s rearguard assets are far from desirable at present, given that they’ve conceded 14 goals in the last six Gameweeks and boast just one clean sheet this term.

Pelle Notches Again

Graziano Pelle came up trumps for his 34% ownership in a 2-0 home win against Bournemouth, firing home his first goal in three league matches. Akin to Lukaku, Saints’ premier frontman is in the midst of a favourable streak of match-ups (sun, STO, mc, AVL, cry), rendering him a popular pick in the mid-priced bracket. Considering Sunderland’s humbling at the hands of Everton, Pelle is sure to attract a host of captain’s armbands next time out.

Steven Davis popped up with his second goal in four matches. The Northern Ireland international’s 4.8 price tag catches the eye, yet the fact he’s only attempted four shots in 11 starts suggests he’s experiencing an unsustainable purple patch. Elsewhere in the south-coast outfit’s midfield, Dusan Tadic chalked up his second assist in three starts, while Victor Wanyama picked up a red card for two bookable offences – the Kenyan enforcer will return to contention after the international break when Southampton play host to Stoke City.

Ryan Bertrand registered an assist to complement Saints’ first clean sheet in six outings. Yesterday aside, Ronald Koeman’s troops have struggled to batten down the hatches of late, but the fact that they face off against Aston Villa and Stoke – who rank joint-bottom for goal scored (nine) – in the next four Gameweeks bodes well for their hopes of establishing consistency at the back.

Another Loss for Cherries

Although a move to 4-3-3 to accommodate fit-again Harry Arter saw Bournemouth tally more attempts (16 compared to 11) than their local rivals, the Cherries failed to score for the first time since Gameweek 2 as they slipped to a fifth successive defeat. No team has shipped more goals (12) in the last trio of Gameweeks than Eddie Howe’s men, which serves as encouragement for Newcastle United and Swansea City investors in light of the Cherries’ next wave of fixtures (NEW, swa, EVE, che).

Some help would be great here, had always planned to bank a t/f this week to have 2 FT's for break but a poor week (bar a 2-3 goal haul from Harry (C) tonight) has my trigger fingers itchy!

Stick with this team this week?

    Butland
    Phil Jones//Moreno//Janmaat
    Payet//KDB(C)//Mane(VC)//Sanchez
    Bony//Pelle//Kane

    Interestingly for my team...

    Yaya 5 games 3.6ppg
    Hazard 6 games 4.5ppg

And KdB smaller sample but 2 games 4ppg.

That keeps continuing he will look expendable in the big hitter category.

        Defo. Newcastle was a rout.

Obviously if I had owned him for that the picture would be different.

Any feedback on my team? I had a tough start, played WC, didn't improve much, took some hits and then bought in a lot of points. Now for past 2 weeks it's gone dry again. I think I just need to patient, but if anyone can see room for improvement, I'm willing to take a hit (already transferred out Myhill for De Gea this week)

    De Gea, [Rudd]
    Moreno, Evans, Monreal, Williams, [Targett]
    Payet, Mata, Sanchez, Mane, [Westwood],
    Vardy, Pellé, Bony

£4.8 in the bank. Brackets are purely bench players (I hate having points on the bench). Currently in the top 600,000 (big time huh ;P)

Nothing wrong with it, I personally not a fan of Mata..
I would also get rid of Williams, Swansea have been poor. Man City def, Sagna if you want to get Kun back in a few weeks, or Kompany for security of starts

Cheers for the response. I'm personally a huge fan of Mata, but then I look at Ozil who is similar in price and he's just killing it. But I feel like if I hold out, United will find a bit of form (as they have decent fixtures coming up too) and Mata will come back into fashion.

I had Sagna since he first came in the team due to an injury. But I feel he's a bit too much at risk of rotation? Sold him for a nice profit. Williams.. i'm really bagging on Swansea to get their act together. On the few times they had a CS, I benched him! But I have been looking for better options..

          I'll hold out for now!

Aston Villa's last 5 results in the league:

    L vs WBA --- (h) --- 0-1
    L vs LIV --- (a) --- 2-3
    L vs STK --- (h) --- 0-1
    L vs CHE --- (a) --- 0-2
    L vs SWA --- (h) --- 1-2

Man City are a lot more dangerous going forward than each of those 5 teams, wondering why people aren't seeing City options as good captain material......

      • 13 Years

I'd guess that many have been burnt by captaining Bony. Personally, I only have KDB, and though he's still ticking along nicely I'm not sure he's captaincy material - his stats aren't exceptional.

It is ridiculous, I think it's that you want your captain to look like they may get a huge haul, and KDB's stats don't really indicate that it's likely. I still haven't decided on my captain, currently on Sanchez (C) and Mahrez (V).

Mahrez is tempting but Watford are no slouches either...

Sanchez is the punt of the week. Hugely explosive player AND fixture, but Spurs look seriously improved defensively this year and Sanchez will get either 2 or 15 😛

Yeah I guess it depends how you play the game, if you want a steady captaincy option Sanchez probably isn't it, but you know he could suddenly turn up with a huge haul.

Who to bench next week? Pelle, Kane or Ayew?
It's was easier with Wanyama as my 5th mid.
I wanted to do Ayew-->Stanislas this week but Ayew's next two fixtures are great

Would have worked out well getting him in GW3 then.

I got him in GW1 and it sucked.

Last year I got him a few weeks too early too, and the 13m being tied up in him affected the rest of my team.

After the int break. If you're the nervous one, stock up on FTs.

I currently own this front line - Martial, Mitrovic, Pelle

I have 2 FTs and no need to use one elsewhere. I should do Martial to Lukaku right and save the other?

Mitrovic unlucky to have not scored last 2 games (apparently) and has Bournemouth next. While he's not ideal I should wait and have 2 transfers for the break right?

I'd probably get Vardy and Lukaku in if you can afford that.

I can afford it but it makes Aguero trickier with less money and less FTs. I know that's probably thinking too much but with the international break I like the 2 FTs and Bournemouth are terrible (even though newcastle are too).

Reason being that Jenkinson is at home and offers a decent goal threat himself. Also, Darmian is only due to miss 1 game and with Valencia he could profit from an uninterupted run in a very decent defence with very decent fixtures.

That really does suck. I was only thinking yesterday that I really need a second HDD for backup.

All is not lost though - it's possible to retreive that data, the only issue is how much it will cost. When I used to work in Currys we used to do a service where we could send the HDD off with a USB stick that you provided and retreived the contents. The HDD has to be in a really bad state for it not to be possible and it usually always is - can get price if the disc is damaged though.

I'd be really surprised if they can't get it - you really have to do some proper damage to it to make it completely unrecoverable which I'm sure you know. If the thing just blew up while inside the PC I'd say you'll be fine.

In Currys at least there was a service up from that £80 where they can recover it even if the disc is damaged but it cost something like £500! We used to have people in doing it still....

This surely warrants paying for a professional recovery job.

Was quoted a max of £700, not ideal but ill have to pay if it comes to it...

Payet --> Ozil : Worth a -4 hit? Already used my free transfer getting rid of a suspended player.

I just thought of his form at the moment and a free scoring Arsenal but the only problem would be Tottenham's defense next game.

A: Best move(s) here? Got 2 FTs and 4.1m in the bank.
B: Which of my front 8 do I bench?

    Fabianski
    Bellerin, Dawson, Darmian, Richards, Prodl
    Alexis, KDB, Yaya, Payet, Mahrez
    Pelle, Vardy, Ighalo

Yeah that's the move I'm thinking and then have 2 for the int. break.

        No clue about benching though!

I was thinking Payet mostly because I am more scared about what Pelle can do . He has two in his last two aswell .

          This is my thinking too..

Benching Payet simply as he has a lower ceiling than Pelle.

Pelle has higher chance of flopping though...

          Ugh..

    Butland - McCarthy
    Bellerin - VVD - Darmian - Morgan - Francis
    Sanchez - KDB - Mahrez - Payet - Westwood
    Vardy - Lukaku - Pelle

    Francis > Moreno maybe? 🙂

That looks like a decent move although I think I'd just save in preparation for the international break.

Save, you will be glad to have 2FT in the international break. No need to spend transfer on bench players.

Will need to play one of Francis/Morgan this week and bench Darmain.

Neither of them have a bad fixture. I'd probably play Francis for his attacking potential

We have pretty much identical team apart from our bench players. Did you captain Lukaku this week? I had the armband on him but then for some reason changed it to KDB.. Still got 80 points though.

High five. Play Bellerin in the London derby? Or do i take a punt on playing Ake against Leicester?

I'd go with Bellerin, best defence in the league and attacking potential.

I benched Mahrez this week and don't want to get stung again.

I have same dilemma! Look below 🙂

But honestly I would play bellerin of those for sure and decide between Cedric and Payet... Mine is between Payet and Bertie this week...Care to help??

    WOuld you rather have

    1) Play Payet vs EVE and bench Bertie vs sun in GW 12
    2) Play Payet vs tot and bench Souare vs SUN in GW 13

Both involve AOA chips thats why may be weird qs 🙂

2 for me but it's a bit cryptic you question. Plus I'm not sure you have to play AOA without seein the rest of your team

        Butland
        Bellerin Moreno Bertrand Souare Simpson
        Mahrez Payet Sanchez KDB Mane
        Vardy Lukaku Pelle

        What do you reckon now?
