Following on from Halloween, it’s time to revisit a horror show Gameweek from Granville.

Having gathered an array of green arrows in recent weeks, my ScoutCast co-host produced a pair of transfer howlers, watching on from behind the sofa as both Philippe Coutinho and Riyad Mahrez banged nails into his Gameweek coffin.

Jonty and I do our best to dwell on Granville’s misery for as long as possible, before attempting to cheer him up with similarly scary tales from the community in “Rough with the Smooth”.

We then take on your questions, debating Leicester’s legs, United’s decline and whether we can actually tame the Fantasy Football troll that is Romelu Lukaku.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on Tuesday evening (before the news on Hector Bellerin’s injury) via our YouTube channel.

You can catch the full un-edited version of this episode via the larger player below, or take in the “polished” audio effort via this link or the smaller player.

You can get wind of future episodes by subscribing to our YouTube channel.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Don't concern yourself with why but play one:

    A. KDB (avl)
    B. Pelle (sun)

Its a long story but need to make up a 30 point gap so need to gamble on benching one of these guys (rival has both)

30 points is barely 1 point per week, just play whatever's best this week. Only get into game theory in the last 10 weeks IMO

KDB one of the best players in the league and on the best attacking team. You would be crazy to bench him, let alone not captain him.

Normally would completely agree but Sunderland are so awful and how many times do new managers win 1-0 or draw 0-0 on debut..

Play both....unless you need to try and make up all of those 30 points up this week! Play the 11 you think will score the most, regardless of what your rival is doing, the time for that is in the last few weeks of the season.

Appreciate the advice but has to be 30 points by this week. Cut off for the first third of a head to head league. Got to bench one of his players for Igahlo to stand any chance

Current results "prediction" for each match this weekend (based on each team's number of team goals spread bet mid-point on Spreadex)

    Bournemouth 1.55 Newcastle 1.25
    Leicester 1.7 Watford 1.05
    Man U 2.15 West Brom 0.55
    Norwich 1.35 Swansea 1.25
    Sunderland 0.9 Southampton 1.7
    West Ham 1.5 Everton 1.4
    Stoke 1 Chelsea 1.5
    Villa 0.85 Man City 2.15
    Arsenal 2 Spurs 1.1
    Liverpool 1.8 Palace 0.85

For example, if Bournemouth v Newcastle as played, say, 100 times, Spreadex reckon that Bournemouth would score 155 goals (i.e. a 1.55 average) and Newcastle 125 (i.e. a 1.25 average).

Predicted goals gone up by 0.05 in last 24 hours: Villa, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Man U, Newcastle, West Ham

Predicted goals gone down by 0.05 in last 24 hours: Palace, Stoke, Sunderland

I'm with you and have the same problem with Wijnaldum and I'm coming to think he's the one to leave on the bench. I fancy Payet this game week at home to Everton.

For this week, I'd go Schlupp. Fuchs is back from injury so he'll slot in at left back meaning Schlupp will play more advanced and there's a chance for returns at both ends of the pitch. Long term I'd say Rojo.

Usually don't ask for guidance, but really struggling this week

    Butland (Schmeichel)
Smalling / Toby / Dawson (Bellerin, Richards)
    Payet/ Sanchez(c) / Mahrez(vc) / Mane / KDB
    Pelle / Vardy (Ighalo)

    1) Ighalo best to bench of front 8? Considering Pelle instead. AOA not an option
    2) Butland over Schmeichel?

    Cheers!

    Pelle / Lukaku / Ighalo

"Luckily" I still have Hazard stinking up my midfield, so Hazard and Vardy (with his crap fixture run coming up which I don't want double Leicester for) for Aguero and fodder is my current plan.

Plan to do Pelle+Lukaku to Aguero+Ighalo. Might change my mind and downgrade mid if Pelle or Lukaku too good to get rid.

      Already got Wanyama.

plan is Bony -> Aguero financed by either:

      KdB -> Lamela/Tadic/Barkley/Wijy/Willian/Cabaye/Ayew/Mirallas/Milner

      or

      Kane/Lukaku -> Murray/Ighalo

Probably upgrade Vardy around Gw15 to Giroud/Lukaku/Kane, Ighalo third striker & 5th mid downgrade to fodder.

No-one seems to be me ruining Monreal. Any reason?
I know Bellerin is seen as the better option but points wise there's not much in it.

Or is it a straight Bellerin vs Rojo vs Moreno argument?

Simpson, and a Norwich and Bournemouth defender I think- so I'd go Simpson

I've realised something. With my front 8 this week, none of them stand out as better captaincy options than the rest. No wonder I can't decide which one to bench...

Right now I'd rather play Ighalo than KdB for example

Indeed he did, and with others playing well at City I think at best the points will be shared.. Don't think he will score at least

Why? KDB is one of the top players in the league, on the best attacking team, and up against a horrible team. KDB is a top 3 captain choice this week.

Haven't been that imoressed recently. And other city players are on good form playing higher up the pitch I think KdB will be limited to an assist at best.

        @Zidane...

This is my sons school league...and he sits on the top....

He's become quite serious about winning this each year but in reality, whilst he does read a bit on here and knows the form players, he comes to me every week chatting me up for his pick/s...or rather this sites picks in effect. (he's nowt but a damned cheat really).

He's at 20k so I always kinda know roughly how I'd be doing if I didn't take so many hits and played more seriously...

Haha damned cheat is a bit harsh, I reckon the best players are very prudent in who they get their advice from and which advice they listen to. So you can take some credit for that impressive 20k position.

Might be difficult to catch him in your family league though 🙂
