634x258 Suspensions

Southampton’s Graziano Pelle is the most high profile of this week’s Suspension Tightrope protagonists after collecting a fifth yellow card of the campaign in yesterday’s home loss to Stoke.

The Italian will now miss next weekend’s trip to the Etihad and, although he will return in time for a plum home clash against Villa in Gameweek 15, it’s fair to say the exodus is picking up pace – over 120,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers have already parted company as we scramble to bring in the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero.

Pelle earned a late caution for kicking the ball away as his barren run continued – he’s scored just once in the last five Gameweeks. Post-match, Ronaldo Koeman was unhappy over the Italian’s lack of self-restraint:

“It’s all about the frustration of the player. He was not playing well, he was not scoring and the team was not winning, but you have to control yourself always. That’s difficult, we know. But, okay, if it doesn’t happen today maybe it happens next week. It’s always a question if you are one booking from a suspension. It’s always when, when, when it happens. Okay, normally you have to control yourself. He knows. We know. We have to accept it and we will play another [number] nine next week.”

Pelle is one of six players to succumb to a one-match Tightrope ban so far. Liverpool will be devoid of Lucas’ services for their home encounter against Swansea next weekend. Swansea’s Jonjo Shelvey will also miss that Anfield encounter – handed the role in “the hole” at home to Bournemouth, the former Red bagged himself a goal and assist before earning his fifth yellow of the season.

Over at the Hawthorns, Tony Pulis has decisions to make at left-back after Chris Brunt picked up his fifth booking in the Baggies’ home win over Arsenal – the Northern Ireland international now misses next weekend’s trip to West Ham. Mark Noble will also be unavailable for that one after earning his fifth yellow in today’s loss at White Hart Lane, whilst Dele Alli will be absent as Spurs host Chelsea next weekend.

There are now 17 players on this week’s Tightrope, with Gameweek 13 handing us five new entries. Bournemouth playmaker Matt Ritchie, Leicester centre-half Robert Huth, Norwich’s Seb Bassong and Liverpool pair Emre Can and Nathaniel Clyne are the men in question.

Palace duo Wilfried Zaha and Yohan Cabaye, along with Sunderland’s Billy Jones, could yet topple of this week’s Tightrope – all three go into tomorrow’s night’s match at Slehurst Park on four yellows apiece.

In terms of newly-available players, Tottenham will welcome back Erik Lamela for next week’s trip to Stamford Bridge after the Argentine served a one-match ban at home to West Ham earlier today. West Brom will have Gareth McAuley available for their clash with the Hammers after the Irishman missed yesterday’s win over Arsenal.

Slaven Bilic’s side, meanwhile, will be without the services of James Collins once again – the Welshman serves the last of a three-match ban against the Baggies.

Everton yes. Leicester probably also yes, but wouldn't bring anyone else new in due to fixtures if you only owned one. Most will retain one of Vardy/Mahrez I think

I'm currently rocking a rotation trio of Lanzini, Delefou, and Mahrez. Next week: Delefou (bou), Mahrez (MUN), and Lanzini (WBA) is a difficult choice of who to bench

Perhaps. But these players were linked to a lot of top teams during their respective transfer sagas. Dortmund and Pool are of similar spending ability. Could be a coincidence due to how many teams a player can be linked to before settling on a side.

Aguero - Best player in the league, best FPL player.

    Lukaku: Form and fixtures.

    Kane: Form and fixtures.

    Ighalo: Form and fixtures.

    Vardy: Form

Not sure why people are so against the idea of dropping Vardy given the alternatives we have to choose from.

Ighalo is an option for the mext 3 games only. Try fitting in Aguero, Kane and Lukaku without makinf serious damage to the rest of the team.

Need to or I won't be able to afford lukaku though. Think they are worth not having him?

Genuinely stumped. Narrowed it down to 3 options. 2 frees

    a) Pelle & Williams > Kane & Moreno
    b) Pelle & KDB > Kun & Coutinho (if fit) / Firmino
    c) Pelle, Kolarov and Williams & Kun, Moreno & Simpson (-4)

    Myhill
    Bellerin Rojo Kolarov (Richards, Williams)
    Sanchez KDB Ozil Mahrez (Westwood)
    Lukaku Vardy *Pelle*

Only way to get Aguero in and give my team a much need revamp is -8pt hit

Pelle, Payet and KDB > Aguero, Lingard and Ozil

what you think, team is massively stagnent at the moment

I would. The 2 P's are useless this week for a start.

-8 a tough one but those are very good moves.Losing KDB a big loss but you're getting Man City top man and Ozil in return.Id say go for it.

In all seriousness though... Boosting his opta stats etc. Obviously no end product, but worthy of consideration for my bench?

They are all saying what I said at the start of the season, that he's the best cheap mid. I was wrong then..

Always been lacking technically but his pace allows Bournemouth to play like Wilson is there (unlike Murray) so looks a good option

Rather have Gosling as he's more nailed and Christmas time is coming.

Don't know how Duelofeu didn't get attacking returns on the weekend? Was heavily involved in all goals and was probably best on ground. As the flock go to Barkley, I know who I'm bringing in.

Lanzini or Morrison as potential Aguero enabler?

Lanzini probably. Fixtures say otherwise, but he is in the right spot on the pitch for points + Carroll returning to fitness.

Three things that you think will happen next GW.....

    I'll begin...

    1) Vardy brace and 3 bonus v United
    2) Chelsea beat Spurs at White Hart Lane 1-0
    3) Aguero and Silva combine for 30pts

Tempted to captain Silva as a MEGA differential

Quick repost as prices will impact this tonight it seems, so best option?

    a) KDB & Pelle > Bolasie & Aguero (-4)
    b) Williams, KDB & Pelle > Moreno, Deulofeu, Aguero (-8)

Already have Kane & Lukaku, and a defence that needs sorting really at some point

I desperately want to get rid of Williams but don't think it's worth -4 if you have somebody else you can start.

      So A.

Same, bit of a struggle at the back at the min though - currently playing Bellerin, Dawson, VvD next week as it stands. Might just see if VvD can nick a goal at City.

        Cheers for the reply!

Ighalo and Deeney have got 10 out of Watford's 12 goals. They've also provided 6 of the assists.
Would be a bit worried if no one else starts to pitch in soon

    A) Ayoze -> Ighalo (-4)
    B) Williams + Ayoze -> Wollscheid (or any other 4.3) + Kane (-8)
    C) Kolarov + Ayoze -> Moreno + Kane (-8)
    D) None of those moves
