→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

Arsenal’s win at Sunderland last weekend was not just another odds on victory for the London side, it also marked a number of milestones. Wenger’s misfiring gunners hit the top half of the table for the first time this season, Robin van Persie scored the quickest goal of the season, but, more significantly, when the Dutchman curled in his second-half free-kick, he gave the Fantasy Flutter another win over our betting buddies over at Paddy Power.

After a couple of minor victories on short prices, a return on “to score in both halves” at 13/2 was the mini windfall we’ve been looking for. Did you take up the bet and share our glory?

Not to worry – we’re looking to capitalise on our win last week with another array of markets that include the likes of José Enrique, Clint Dempsey, Martin Petrov and Gabby Agbonlahor. As it’s a big derby weekend, we have forgone the usual accumulator and forged two special bet markets to consider. Read on to find out just what’s on offer in this week’s Fantasy Flutter.

Since his move from the Magpies in the summer transfer window, José Enrique has quickly acclimatised to Liverpool’s style and his attacking instincts have already brought returns via assists and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points. A favourable home fixture against Norwich will grant Enquire the opportunity to use his pace down the left and feed Luis Suarez and his attacking counterparts. Although Paddy’s price of evens for no booking and a clean-sheet is tempting, a straight up assist at 7/2 walks the tightrope between probability and value enough for £2 of our money.

Fulham’s Clint Dempsey’s has so far failed to fire on all cylinders. He’s still racked up a couple of goals and assists and, having been rested for Thursday’s Europa League tie, he’ll be fresh and ready for the visit of Everton to the Cottage. Paddy have Dempsey to score from a header at 12/1, but the more reserved 13/2 to net from outside the box takes our £1 on this occasion.

Last week’s win at Wigan gave Bolton the lift they needed – off the bottom of the table, they’ll go into their Reebok clash with Sunderland with some much needed confidence. Warhorse strikers Kevin Davies and Ivan Klasnić have both had moments of real quality in front of goal this term, but it’s Martin Petrov that’s been Bolton most consistent Fantasy performer. Petrov’s four assists and single booking looks good for Paddy’s “assist and no booking” market at 3/1, although we’ve gone with the “Petrov assist and Bolton clean-sheet” at 10/1 for our £1.

Another consistent Fantasy earner, Gabby Agbonlahor has cleaned up with bonus points, goals and assists, marking a mockery of his modest initial valuation. The fleet-heeled Villa striker will be up against a confident West Brom defence after their clean sheet in the derby with Wolves last week, but Gabby’s quality is favoured to win through this time around. An assist and a goal at 12/1 looks like massive value, having achieved this market twice already this season, and for a £2 stake we’re willing to ride the risk for the potential bounty.

Head to Head… to Head

This weekend sees three in form strikers vying for your Fantasy captaincy, and Paddy have accommodated this choice with a “Who Will Score the Most Goals” market. Robin van Persie seems the standout choice, having an easier fixture against Europa weary Stoke on Sunday, yet the “Battle of Manchester” could make a hero of Sergio Aguero or Wayne Rooney. We’ll take Rooney at 15/8 for £2 of our money to outscore his two rivals in this market.

Derby Goals

If all that wasn’t enough, you could try out Paddy’s Derby Goals Special to see how many the three fixtures will rack up. The Baggies visit Villa, Chelsea visit QPR and Man City take on the Red Devils at Old Trafford to make up our derby trilogy. Paddy post over and under 7.5 goals as the the bar. For 11/8 we’re going go a conservative £2 on under 7.5 goals across the three matches.

Money Back Specials – Battle of Manchester

Top of the bill for Paddy’s Money Back specials this week – if Wayne Rooney scores in the game with City, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

They’re also presenting us with a couple more Premier League offers – if Steven Gerrard scores the last goal in the game with Norwich at Anfield, Paddy will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Similarly, at Loftus Road, if Daniel Sturridge scores the last goal of the game, Paddy will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Wengers comments about RVP don't make him a risk for this week do they? He seems to be saying that he wants to rest him at some point but can't at the moment. Just looking for reassurance that I should keep the armband on him this week.

Just that he keeps wanting to rest him but then plays him.

Now we have the usual scaremongering "will he/won't he start" comments...

If in doubt, pick a good VC.

I had VDV last year and he did great, i know his potential but not sold on him completely. Harrys comments make him an interesting choice plus he rarely plays 90 mins.

        Nani i simply cant afford.

Petrov...wouldnt call him a "great" midfielder, and i think the 3 i have this week have just as much potential to score with the combo of penos, assists etc

    Sturridge captain flutteR?

    - Last game of the week
    - Seems to go good in away games
    - QPR haven't won a home game since when?
    - RVP has played a lot of games lately and looked a bit beat vs. Marseille
    - Stoke will put up a fight and Arsenal, bar Van Persie, have hardly been convincing

Who to captain out of RVP and surez?

    Form
RVP 2 goals last but nothing in europe
Suarez nothing in last but playing well
Surez playing in better midfield for service sp with Gerard back

    Fixture
Both at home but Norwich slightly more show conceded in box
Stoke played I europe but rested defenders and key mid

    Odds betfair to score
    RVP 1.7
    Surez 1.84
Scout poll slightly ahead for surez

Currently on surez. What do you guys think? Any other factors clinch it I've missed?

I've just checked the odds on betfair and RVP is currently at 2 to back 2.3 to lay. Always with these markets on betfair I wouldn't read *too* much into them because there's hardly any money matched on them- so there's essentially less information in them. Still, there is some.

Having said that, I would captain Suarez.

Midfield is poor. There are better options than Adam and Nasri for slightly more money and Mikel is not a good fantasy option. Hart is too expensive so I would sell him for a £4-£5m option like Krul, Begovic, Given and use the money to upgrade the midfield. Pick 2 of Mata, VDV, Silva and Nani to replace Adam and Nasri and get someone like Ramsey for Mikel. This doesn't all need doing this week, Adam has 3 good fixtures coming up but after that get rid.

nani - he can get 15 in any match - prefer young as a player - just coz of how he looks twice as good at OT than he did -
but nani has the key components for fpl points

      shoot on site
      greedy
      set pieces (occasional)
      a good cross
      and a stoopid name

that really is a toss up. people on here seem to like nani more and nani seems to be a bit more in form than young id say but not really sure.

of those two i only have young but i also have rooney up front. you think i should get rid of young for vdv?

If you can do a straight swap of Brunt to VDV, do it.

I've got Hennessey and Vorm. They're both playing each other, Wolves at home. Who would you play?

I also have Simpson. My guess is that he's likely to drop to the bench but it's just a guess.

Pardew, don't do anything silly now. Best and Simpson are doing well and deserve to keep their place for this apparent home banker.
