Having spent the season clutching to the coattails of both Granville and Jonty, finally, like a magnificent phoenix rising from the flames, I’ve caught and surpassed them both.

In truth, my season is anything but “magnificent” and the recent struggles of my ScoutCast co-hosts, as they plunge to my depths, is the main reason behind the recent mini-league manoeuvrings.

With a level playing field established, the three of us skim through another set of “Rough with the Smooth” Gameweek tales from the community, before bracing ourselves for another batch of topics steered by your good selves.

You have us talking Sanchez exit plans, discussing the “desperate” route back to Hazard and contemplating Christmas rearguards. Plus we’ve a couple of old ScoutCast favourites who, like my season, rise up from the ashes to discover a new lease of life.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first aired via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. You can view the full Google Hangout version via the larger player below, or treat yourself to the more cultured audio cut via this link or the smaller player below.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for updates on new episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hola mis amigos!

I know I waited too much, should take a -4 and replace Sanchez with one of the following?
    A. KDB
    B. Silva
    C. Barkley
    D. Deulofeu
    E. Mata
    F. Hazard

My other players on midfield are Mahrez, Ozil, Couthino and Ayew and upfront Ighalo, Agüero and Vardy. Or should I keep Alexis and then transfer him with no points deducted?

I'm a bit desperate, did very bad on the last 2 gameweeks and fell from the 1st place on most of my leagues....

    Your help is very appreciated!

With that solid front 7 there is no need to take a hit especially since Sanchez won't drop again

Best players in terms of minutes played per assist in the PL this season:

David Silva (100 minutes), Ulloa (105 mins), Deulofeu (107 mins), Ozil (157 mins), KdB (186 mins) Mahrez (197 mins), Eriksen (231 mins), Barkley (279 mins), & Hoolahan (202 mins).

vs Hull he had the most touches (112) of all MCity players, had three key passes, & most passes in the opposition half (82). He dictated the whole match in classic Silva fashion & was rightfully awarded the MotM.

    Best Rojo replacement starting GW16?

    1. Smalling 6.8 (a bit expensive, lack of attacking return?)
    2. Zouma 5.4 (2 CS already but can we trust Chelsea defence now?)
    3. Moreno 4.9 (good attacking potential, yet reluctant to double up on Liv defence)

I got Kolarov, VVD, Monreal and Dier already, also Mignolet and Myhill...

No, just that they have been very tight at the back over the last few and have a very kind fixture run. I see more clean sheets on their horizon.

Speaking of CS potential (ignoring attacking returns):
I think Chelsea is likely to concede away Lei in GW 16
so basically i'll be relying on GW 17-18, 21 from GW 16-23
(Zouma's rotation risk is a concern.)

For Liv, GW 16, 19 are my guess.

For MU, probably GW 16-18, 20.

            hmm...

@Walsh, why do you want to do Mane to Silva when you already owned KdB?

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years
      10 years, 24 days ago

I am going to go without Aguero until the January WC and I would like to have two City attackers to try to cover his points. I also think Silva will be the third best returner of points at midfield behind KDB and Ozil over the upcoming period so I would like to have him. Owning Silva and KDB is also a ridiculously massive differential too which I think is very tasty.

I am planning the same transfer after this GW to do Mane to Silva, but I sacrificed KdB for Kun last GW. Do you think this combination works? KdB seems to have a better stats than Silva, but owning Silva will provide me more options for my 3rd mids if I continue to keep Ozil as my 2nd.

Kane or Hazard for the armband for me..
Which of these 2 would u go with and why.

Kane~ Incredible form against a side that concedes a lot.
Hazard~ Slowly getting back to form against a side that concedes way too much..

Hazard being a Mid and sure to be centrally involved in everything may just sway it for me..

Morning DZ, so that 3rd Sanchez drop was annoying!

That being said, which of these do you think looks best?

    A) Save transfer and keep Sanchez on the bench till he returns. You'll want him back straight away so it's 2 transfers saved and your starting 11 is decent enough.

    B) Sanchez -> KDB

    C) Sanchez -> Coutinho (if confirmed fit today). The extra cash saved over KDB enables one of Bolasie/Barkley/Mahrez -> Eriksen/Walcott next week

    DDG
    Kolarov, Bellerin, VVD, Moreno
    Mahrez, Barkley, Bolasie
    Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

    Hennessey, Simpson, Surman, Sanchez
    Bank 0.1m, 1FT

    1. Joggers Nipple

KDB. Leave Sanchez until GW 19 imo. No Ozil option for you?

Nah, I did consider Ozil and Hazad strongly but for various reasons I've narrowed it down to KDB or Cout. Bit of a benching headache if i use the freebie - who would you bench? Cout this week and Eriksen next week against a woeful NEW is very tempting

        1. Joggers Nipple
          • 16 Years
          10 years, 24 days ago

          I would bench a defender.
Just me but i like the simplicity of a Hazard/ KDB move. Its done and stick with it. When i plan future moves it always goes wrong.

Both options are good, just personally would do the KDB one. Good luck with it.

I've gone for a similar approach to C because I feel like those 3 cheap mids have a lot of potential to annoy.

Yeah, I like the look of Eriksen for NEW and the fixtures to follow.

        A) is madness right? Also, who would you bench this week? Really struggling with that.

          • 12 Years
          10 years, 24 days ago

A is absolute madness with two weeks out. I'm guessing you mean in defence for the bench? Probably Hector with CoqZorla out for the count.

I'm between these 4 for the bench - would be crazy to bench Bellerin at home to a SUN likely to park the bus imo.

            Kolarov (sto)
            Moreno (new)
            Bolasie (eve)
Mahrez (swa) - this one would be risky but away at Swansea isn't normally easy

              • 12 Years
              10 years, 24 days ago

tbh I'd be looking to sell hector but from that lot maybe bench Moreno

December UFPL I've got £25m for 3 non-Liverpool midfielders and I really can't justify the £11.5m outlay on Hazard but if he explodes I'm fecked. I'm leaning towards Silva, Ozil & Barkley, who would you take?

Same prices as FPL? I guess it depends on who you have? I really have no idea how the game works but Silva, Ozil and Barkley sounds good. If you really wanted to go for it I'd say Eriksen, Mata and Silva.

GW1 FPL prices & they're locked in so Hazard 11.5m etc. Scoring is similar to FPL but 6 points for a goal in any position and a few extra points for Key Passes and stuff but thats really secondary.

          £5 buy-in.

Just realised Walker has started every game this season 😯 .. Dont think he's started the season below 6 million since becoming a regular and now he is just 5.. Bargain. gonna run some stats though to check if he's attacking output is as good as the past few seasons. Rose @0.2 more could end up being the way to go though

      1. Valar(Keith)

Probably Rose then.. Considering how poor WBA are at defending pace on the wing i want one of Walker/Toby. and Walker has been playing fantastic of late.. i just assumed he was above 5.5 and never really considered him. pretty shocked at his price tbh... For some reason i always have a doubt regarding Rose and gametime. Walker seems safe as houses but i'd just worry a bit every week with Rose.. not sure why 🙂

Keep asking til I can find an answer, which FPL player has risen most in any FPL season, and if you know how much was the rise for that season.

Kane and Ramsey come to mind in past seasons.

Kane didn't rise as much as you think as he fell 0.3m first. Ramsey rose £1.9m, Kane only £1m. Clyne's rise peaked at £1.1m but fell back to only £0.9,

Looks great. Though I think I'd prefer DDG + Rose + Zouma and ditch Bellerin. or is that too many FTs?

    Who to pick for Rojo

I have Bellerin Kolarov Moreno Francis

The only good option that comes to my mind is Toby. Any other cheaper and effective options ? Please suggest. Any help is appreciated..

You're going to play the first 3 most weeks so maybe Simpson to free up some funds. And if you need him he's there

No Lpool fan but my guess is
      Milner Hendo
      Firmino Coutinho Llanna
      Sturridge

Unsure on Llanna and no Can is prob not right. Too many options to fit in.

      For me
      Sturridge
      Cout
      Hendo

Are the only 3 nailed IF fit
