Top 100K Christmas Challenge

To remind ourselves that FPL is a marathon, not a sprint, I guess many of us try to set targets in terms of Overall Rank for stages in the season. In the last couple of years, the formula I've followed is :

- Try to stabilize inside top 50k by December 1st
- Try to get into 10k (for at least 1 GW) by New Year's
- Defend position during DGWs in GWs 30-34
- Aim to finish in top 1k by May.

A lot has been said about how this season has been an absolute train-wreck for so many good FPL managers. Those with a strong history like Mark, Jonty, Innsie, TL (just to mention a few) are stuck in the doldrums with 200k-500k ranks.

With this in mind, I've torn up my target projections from pre-season, and have now gone for :

- Stabilize within 500k by December 1st
- Get into top 100k by New Years
- Gamble and try to get into 50k by attacking in the big DGWs
- Aim to finish within top10k by May

As the second stage in this marathon : Does anyone (ranked outside top 100k) want to join in on the Christmas Challenge ? I'm not going to start another ML or anything, but the aim is to get into the top 100k by New Years fixture (GW 20 this year). That gives us 5 more GWs!

      I used to focus more on the sky fantasy game where (if you got the right team sorted) you could save loads of transfers and take advantage of sun/mon kick offs late on in the season.
      
      finished top 250-300 overall quite a few times, but on this fpl version its not so easy to consolidate then kick on.
      
      you can have 4 to 5 good weeks but one bad un will see you drop again.
      
      not easy!

        Yep, but every time the FPL playing 11 starts to get template (like it is now), it gets easier to pick your poison : stick with template and consolidate, or go for differentials and kick on..

With all due respect Sky really are going down hill. First Terry Henry who is not great but now a cock sure Bellamy. I never thought I'd say it but they make Alan Hansen look reasonably good. However, not Andy Townsend.

      On the short term escape punt maybe Eriksen with home games versus Newcastle & Norwich.
      
      I've ditched Aguero so who knows may want him back, I'd like some WBA defence again, and might need Sanchez so two FTS could be valuable.

Just when I was ready to feel hard done by, I get in watch 30 seconds worth of replays for Lukaku's goal and it's so obviously Barry's assist it's unbelievable. I like a good moan but there's not much to talk about. Hit's Barry's heel and quite significantly changes the direction of the ball.
