New year, old habits. It’s time to add Paddy Power’s odds into the mix as we edge towards another Gameweek deadline.
Before we assess Paddy’s reckoning for Anytime Goalscorer and Clean Sheets, let’s peruse another batch of specials on offer for those of you without Paddy Power accounts.
It wouldn’t be a weekend without Paddy providing a big acca and this week’s its an Premier League affair, with huge odds of 18/1 available on wins for Arsenal, Man United, Man City and Leicester over the Gameweek.
In the early kick-off, you can back Jurgen Klopp’s side to build on their away win at Sunderland with another three points in East London. There’s enhanced odds of 6/1 on offer for a Liverpool win at West Ham, coupled with the opportunity to gain a free £10 bet when you bet £10 weekly. This evening’s live encounter is also covered off, with the same 6/1 odds offered for a Man City win over Watford at Vicarage Road.
Finally, Sunday’s potential goal-fest at Goodison can be spiced up with a bet that offers 8/1 on an away with for Spurs over Everton.
Be sure to check the teams and conditions on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18. If you’re going to wager, always gamble responsibly.

Although both players drew blanks in their last two outings, Olivier Giroud (1.57) and Theo Walcott (1.90) are both highly fancied for goals by Paddy, with Arsenal strongly backed to rout Newcastle United at the Emirates. All members of the Gunners’ attacking contingent will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing a Magpies rearguard that ranks joint-second for goals conceded (34) this term. With goals expected, it’s no real surprise to see Mesut Ozil backed for points and leading our Captain Poll – even Paddy have him out at 2.87 for a goal in this one – decent odds for a midfielder with just three goals to his name this term.
Having built up his fitness with a 62-minute stint against Leicester City, Sergio Aguero (1.72) has is the meat in the Arsenal sandwich in Paddy’s rankings. Given his ineffective display at the King Power, these odds look more than a little short – particularly given Watford’s form and the fact that they’ve allowed just eight goals in ten home matches. Similarly, City’s away form in attacking terms has been woeful – Manuel Pellegrini’s men have scored just eight goals in nine away trips all season.
Jamie Vardy is back amongst the top ranked names in Paddy’s rankings – he has odds of 2.00 prior to Leicester’s home clash against Bournemouth. Vardy may have notched just once in five outings but he will surely be granted opportunities to improve his tally by a Bournemouth backline that’s kept just one shutout on the road all season.
Unfathomably, Vardy shares his price with Wayne Rooney, despite the fact that the United skipper has failed to score since Gameweek 9 and is pitted against a Swansea City defence that’s carded three successive clean sheets.
Romelu Lukaku leads the way with Vardy when it comes to the race for the Golden Boot but has seen his odds slip from 2.00 to 2.20 in the last 24-hours, as Paddy re-assess Everton’s chances at home to Spurs. This fixture promises goals aplenty, with Harry Kane ranking above Lukaku in Paddy’s reckoning – they rank the Spurs striker at 2.10 for an anytime goal.
Liverpool duo Christian Benteke (2.10) and Daniel Sturridge (2.50) are priced short heading into a road encounter against West Ham United. Benteke is beginning to find his rhythm with two goals in as many starts, while Jurgen Klopp hinted that Sturridge could return to the matchday squad on Saturday.
CLEAN SHEET ODDS – GAMEWEEK 20
Team | Odds |
Manchester United | 1.80 |
Arsenal | 1.90 |
Chelsea | 2.40 |
Liverpool | 2.50 |
Manchester City | 2.50 |
Sunderland | 2.70 |
Stoke | 2.70 |
Leicester | 2.87 |
West Brom | 2.87 |
Southampton | 3.00 |
Matched up against a Swansea attack that placed joint-bottom for goals (two) over the last four Gameweeks, it’s no surprise that Manchester United (1.80) are deemed the favourites to secure a shut-out in the Gameweek.
Arsenal aren’t far behind (1.90) as they attempt to silence a Newcastle attack that charts bottom for shots on target (14) across the previous six Gameweeks. The Gunners are placed just above Chelsea (2.40), with the Blues’ odds coming in slightly in the last 24-hours as Paddy react to Palace’s lack of goal threat ahead of their encounter at Selhurst Park.
Liverpool (2.50) rank next as they prepare to spar with a West Ham outfit that has drawn blanks in three of their last five outings. Man City (2.50) are given identical odds, despite the fact that they will be without the influence of Vincent Company and up against the red-hot Odion Ighalo at Vicarage Road. Manuel Pellegrini’s troops registered their first shut-out in seven league ties at Leicester on Monday.
With Aston Villa mustering just five goals in their past eight fixtures, Sunderland (2.70) edge into the top six with regards to clean-sheet odds. West Brom (2.87) will have to be at their best at The Hawthorns to rebuff the advances of Stoke City, who rifled four past Everton last Gameweek. Despite the Potters’ form, Paddy have the Hawhtorns clash ranked as the most likely to end in a 0-0 stalemate, although Stoke have emerged as the favourites to come out of the game with the shut-out with their odds narrowing to 2.70 overnight.
