The next instalment in our “Talent” series for Members turns the spotlight on Chris Eagles. These articles focus on players whose recent fixtures have seen an upturn in Fantasy fortunes and, with 35 points since gameweek eight, the Trotters winger is ripe for analysis.

Using our own ICT Index and the Opta stats available, we sift through the data to determine just how much of an extra impact Eagles has made in recent games. With 3 goals and 1 assist over those four matches, he’s been the driving force behind a couple of wins that have lifted the Trotters off the foot of the table and sees them sit just three points off eleventh place.

Breaking down the campaign into two distinct parts, here’s a look at his performances compared to Martin Petrov on the flank for Owen Coyle’s side…

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

      to play or to buy?
i think walters will be playing on the wing now, which might devrease his returns, or there is a slim chance that he pulls off a sessegnon.
but i would go for drenthe

One week transfers rarely work out.

If you have no intention of keeping the player then just save your transfer and have 2 next week.

I have two free transfers at the moment y'see, and I'm dropping Boswinga for Brown, Mata for someone mentioned above... and getting rid of Adebayor for RVP, they sound like viable transfers right?

Midfield looks kinda weak. Downgrade Suarez and pick any one of your mids for an upgrade. D also looks a bit pricey, but I admit to wanting 2 6+'s myself, so I can look past it!

Toxic Backline there. Ditch Ruddy, Terry, Agger and possibly Jones.

If you downgrade a few of those you will be able to improve that pauper's midfield you are sporting. You will fall behind without a big hitter or two in there.

      Bumper strikerforce though. Nice.

I chose midfielders that are in form and lookin' good for points over the next few weeks. As everybody else in my league are sporting VDV/Silva etc, I decided to go for differential and a big frontline. Cheap defence has killed me over the first 11 weeks so I went for a bit of investment - Terry is the second highest points defender and Liverpool have improved their defence.

I have said it before and I will say it again.
A good differential is not the same as a differential.
e.g not picking any of the top 5 midfielders as a 'differential' is not a good idea.

Tis true, you have said it before. But (and you knew that was coming!) Sunderland; Bolton; Everton; Spurs midfield seems nice for the next while and with Rooney, RVP and Suarez upfront, the only thing I'm lacking is City coverage!

The likes of Silva, VDV, Lampard can (and often do) get the big hauls against bigger teams.
Im ditching Suarez this week, I was one of the only ones on here that stood by him but I realise now he isnt a good FF pick...and that is saying something as I am unbelievably hopping on the Bendy Bus...I feel sick now 😳

You've come this far with Moses so you may as well not waste a freebie on him when he has Blackburn at home next.

I like the Drenthe move though. In your position I would do:

      Metrov > Drenthe
      Warnock > Brown

I like the look of those trades, IP. Although you could also look at your defence as an alternative option. Villa's fixtures look very tough for the forseeable, so you might consider upgrading Warnock to someone like Jones with some of your wonga. And does de Laet play anymore? Caulker will be back from injury soon, in my opinion should slot straight back into a resilient (home) defence.

I prefer your trades though as this year it seems a bit extravagant to go spending 2 freebies on your defence.

Very odd the amount of transfers in for him, annoyed as neither total or fiso had him rising when i checked yesterday. So at the price he's at now, as i don't already have him, he's now in the same price bracket as Jones and Komp

      He was the only riser.

He's giving me a headache now as he wasn't part of my WC plans. What are people doing with him? I have a lot of value tied up in him and he's probably one of the best value defenders in the game.

Personally I am keeping, Liverpool have only conceded more than 1 goals once this year from memory - 9 men against Spurs.
He has Chelsea and City next two, if Bosingwa plays he could easily get some attacking points as he gets forward so well, I will bench him against City. After that he has good fixtures. The fact that I got him at 5.0 is also a reason.

I thought you were joking about the Bale-Formica thing, but looking at Blackburn's next six I can see justification for a mid or forward. With the budgetary constraints for your other transfers. I hope you get something from it. 🙂

I think Formica looks a decent player to me. Blackburn are scoring goals, it's just they can't defend. With a nice run of fixtures, given he's so cheap, he could be a decent shout.

Yeah, I did see the fans forum link you put up yesterday. There's a bit of a doubt there given Begovic's performance against Bolton, but there's nothing I can really do but play him and hope he plays too. If he misses this week I'll then have a look at taking him out. Cheers for the info though.

I'm in the same position Bubbles. I think folk are getting a bit ahead of themselves with this Sorenson rumour personally. Pulis doesn't strike me as a manager that would be influenced or dictated to by fans discussion websites.

I think he'll play, although there is a doubt there. Agree on Pulis, but more importantly, Begovic is Stoke's long term keeper and they want to keep him long term. If the rotation was swapped (i.e. Begovic plays cup games and Sorensen plays league) I don't think Begovic would be to happy, and there's plenty of clubs who'd be after him. Just a thought, but I do think and hope he'll play.

In the same boat. Very tempting to keep as he is great value. I reckon when your on a WC you have to think long term as well as the up coming fixtures. Liverpools fixtures do ease up after a couple of weeks and he gets forward a lot. I think I will keep as he is fairly cheap for what I bought him for and he won't be going down in price at all this season from the looks of things.

ok ive been thinking about downgrading enrique this week then downgrading petrov next week so i can get rooney or silva in in a couple of weeks

bearing in mind lamps is one away from a suspension would it be best to just play enrique this week and have 2 freebies next week to play with?

Dzeko would be a WAY better option. Do it but over 2 weeks, no need for a hit. Evans to Wilko first and it will give you another chance to assess Dzeko to make sure he starts

Keepers - I like, nice rotation.
Defenders - Not really a fan of BAE and Hibbert as Everton and Spurs dont offer good value for cleanies, I'd get in Simpson for one of them as he rotates with Brown. Gabbidon + McAuley have brilliant rotation so nice choice.
Midfield - Personally not a fan of O'Hara, I think Pilkington offers better value and also good rotation with Formica is a plus. Not sure of Nani as you have Rooney, i'd rather double up on Spurs and get in VDV.
Forwards - I like it, all 3 nailed on, good fixtures and on pens.

Wolves? I rotate Begovic and Hennessey, worked pretty well so far. Sets up some amazing fixtures, admittedly no one would want to double up on Wolves' defence though...even at the Molineux which is strange this year...

Anyway Ryan, to answer your question (Based 100% on home and away fixtures up until Jan WC)
Fulhame, Aston Villa, Wolves, Blackburn, Everton, Newcastle and Spurs all have no Home/Away clashes from here to GW 21.

Some of us have been doubled up on the Wolves defence since GW4... not my best idea, but got lucky with it last week - goal, penalty save and some baps. Must say my farewell to Ward this week though, I think.

But yeah, Ryan, Wolves do rotate with Stoke very nicely (purely on fixtures) until the next WC.

I'm seriously thinking about Sorenson, hopefully Pulis gives us a clue in the press conference later this week. Normally when teams do change keepers it tends to be noted early on?

oh yeah remember how no one got in de gea last week because fergie announced it well in advance that he would be rested beefore a 2 week break

that was more resting the keeper though rather than getting dropped.

fair point. i always used to have sorensen before begovic took his place. i can't imagine that pulis would announce it though as it would be bad for morale i guess

I'd just like to point out that the Guardian said that De Gea would be rested as Lindegaard wouldn't get a run out for 2 weeks. Nobody seemed to care/notice though.

He would be a bargain at 4.3m and would no doubt start his own bandwagon if he is selected this week and especially if he is selected the following week too

Another 4m defender on the radar to free up cash elsewhere - Joe Riley of Bolton. An impressive debut by all accounts against Stoke. Thoughts people?

Bolton conceded 27 goals so far (2cs though) he will have to be good to stop that torrent. Unusually they let in more at home than away so he would be an unusual rotation, play away bench at home

      Actually Newcastle are the same.

      thinks??????

cheers, just trying to free up funds for Lamps. Need a 4m defender, already have McAuley. Might go for Wilkinson even thought I already have Shawcross.

Hmm....I must say I never get my keepers right!

I currently have Given and Vorm who do not rotate well at all.....am I crazy to be considering Vorm for this GW?

If MU score they will be the first visitors to do so at Swansea this season.

Really interesting fixture as the first time the Swans have been tested by one of the big guns.

Could even be 0-0 if MU still defence minded!

Are you not supposed to be busy with Physio? BTW, your friend Jafa has started a L5 h2h league.

You might be accepted, with your injury and all.

Abit of rest has healed it up quite abit. "can" instead of "must" would have made more sense. Seems a silly league to me, just saying.
