Yes, that’s right, crazy talk. There’s a lot of it about in this week’s ScoutCast episode – most of it originating from Mark’s chattering. Transfer in three defenders for a four point hit? Spend big money on Leighton Baines, dumping last season’s top Fantasy scorer? Has he finally lost the plot?

This is what an international break does to you. Suffering from cold turkey and with two free transfers burning away in the pocket, a Fantasy manager has to fight the jerky knee. In my own moment of madness, I even find myself trying to talk Mark out of his hasty moves.

Listen in on the lunacy, accompanied by the usual regulars, accompanied with another excavation of that Robin Van Persie assist – we just won’t let it lie.

Sources in France have now reportedly suggested that the word allegedly used by Suarez to Evra was 'negrito' - a word that is said to literally translate as 'little black fella' but is argued to be generally an affectionate term in Suarez's native Uruguay and other parts of South America.
If that is racist, it is surely far less offensive than what John Terry said to Anton Ferdinand - or what Tiger Woods' ex-caddy said about him - or monkey chants by spectators.

Interesting point. If 'negrito' is a South American term then if Suarez is correct about Evra's teammates using it he must mean some of the South American ones - Anderson, Rafael, Fabio, Hernandez(?). Were they on the pitch at the time? It's starting to fit together in a kind of way. Perhaps it is a misunderstanding. Whatever it is, if what seems like a far more blatant case of racism - Terry - is not punished more severely, it will be a travesty. Can't stand the "brave John Terry, our racist captain" propaganda we have to endure with England. Makes me ashamed to follow the team, and I don't mean that as a turn of phrase.

If you have nothing pressing then I would get rid of De Laet. I have 3 other changes I want to make first over next weeks.

I know it may be a boring change but I would keep Agbon if he is fit, spurs are not exactly solid in defence.

Whats the point in getting rid of De Laet though? I never play my 5th defender so i'd only be getting rid of him for another 4.0. I have Richards, Enrique and Jones who i plan to play every week despite fixtures.

See below. He is another Ferguson now. I would hardly play my replacement for De Laet but at least he would get time for when injures and suspensions come up etc.

Ferguson is a different story, because a 5th midfield spot is valuable. A 5th defender isn't in my opinion. I've never had all 3 outfield subs come on.

You can play all five of your defenders if you wish, or use them all for rotation, but you can never play all of your front eight. So your 5th midfielder (or 3rd forward) is only good for bench-sitting or rotation. If you want a permanent bench-sitter, then Ferguson is a very logical choice (but I prefer to have someone who is good for rotation or substitution when needed).

With all the rotation going on at City and many other top sides and probably you have a few injury doubts as well. I think its good to keep a decent bench and there are plenty of good 4 mils out there so you could even play them at some point. Personally have had 2 gameweeks where all my subs have came on. So like to keep my bench tidy. But I have seem teams with ferguson and nice ranks so I might be wrong.

I'm struggling to find a move which is significantly better than: nothing. And that would give me 2 frees next week.

        Options are things like:

Mignolet to Westwood. But I'm going to play Hennessey this gw as a hedge against having both Drenthe & Baines.

Having a punt on someone like Eagles, Helguson or Sessegnon. All of which would mean either benching or cutting Sinclair.

Making a bold big money move like VDV to Silva.

        Nothing

        Getting shot of Bosingwa

Mannion I know u have brought him in & are keen on him. It's either Westwood (ruddy) or Turner (Naylor) for me. Still undecided. Saves like this though are swaying me!

haha yeah i as gonna say something on him before but totally forgot.

The way i look at it is, sunderland haven't played bad at all over recent games, but have just been unlucky to conceed like they have, they put up a strong performance against united and it was at old trafford. Over these coming fixtures i can see sunderland going beyond expectations, keeping cleanie's and providing the goals for wins etc, add to that westwood's brilliance and 'freshness' to the league i can see them doing really well, westwood will bring strength and resiliance, plus he's a beast and i think his old trafford performance are just a sign of things to come, i'm all for the guy, plus he's a bit of a beast.

I'd go westwood (ruddy), that is if you mean that's one option from transferring in? or is it to play from your team as you have it now?

          Nice wrap up.

It's Westwood in for Ruddy & play this gameweek with Enrique. Or Turner in Naylor & play Vorm & Turner. Enrique hits the pine.

          What's your thoughts? tough one.

hmmm that is a tough one, without being too biased on Westwood, i feel defensively Turner could be a better bet, however i can pretty much guarentee swansea wont keep a cleanie, and with westwood behind turner there's the more reassured feeling that a shaky fulham would have to go through sunderland's defence to even beat Westwood, and to do so would have to be a '1 on 1' situation with westwood in my view, only dempsey offers a threat imo.

Even though both would be good moves, both are tough, but to hell with it im gonna say westwood in for ruddy, i just really beleive he wont disappoint, please dont be angry with me if you do that move though haha.

haha! no problem, yeah at least i gave turner some time of day ha, he's not a bad player, reasoning behind him was i feel he's a vary slight yellow card magnet, he has his ugly play days, but anyone can on the day i guess.
Yep, well the decision lies with your own instincts matey, nice to see he's in currently, but if you stick with it i'd be confident in doing so, if not fair do's.
I also feel i'm nobody to dish out advice based on my current rank etc, but every season starts like this for me and then bang! something good happens lol, so based on how i've improved each season i feel more than able for some good thinking ha.

Right, im off man, nice chatting to ya, i'll be sure to be on tomoz anyway if ya on, spk to ya soon.

Evening gents. I know a lot are struggling with defender choices this week, so I apologise for this one in advance!
    My (WC) defence is ;
Jones (swa), BAE (AV), Wlikinson (QPR), Brown (FUL), McAuley (BOL)

What 3 would you pick to play? I currently have it on Jones, BAE, Wilko (Brown, McAuley)

Does that look ok? If Jones is rested, 1st sub goes to Brown................thanks all.

In my opinion the Vorm/Ruddy combo is going to fail miserably.

Swansea get most of their clean sheets at home. The fixtures in which they have gained clean sheets have been WIG, SUN, WBA, STO(after Europa), liv. I think that Swansea are going to struggle when they get some tough home opposition such as United this weekend and not get many away either.

Damn now you might me think of Howard instead of Krul, they rotate nicely as well.

Price is an issue though. Will probably just be until the Jan WC and then i'll look for a cheap combo

Yeah I got Hibbert on my mind as well, just the fact that I already have simpson makes Howard bit of a better choice. But I have 2 gameweeks to see how things develop.

I'm doing Vorm and Kenny. I orginally had Vorm and Horward as they rotate so well, but Everton don't really keep cleanies, so I don't think he is worth the price..

Well i'm hopeful they will improve now their fixtures have eased a bit. Don't forget they've played Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U and Man City in their last 6 games. That's 5 of the current top 6, it doesn't get much tougher than that

Very good point. I always stuck with the cheapies, and was thinking about Howard this time around. However, I decided just to stick with what has work well for me in the past.

Yeap, that's what's making me nervous. Seems a bad use of resources to have such an expensive keeper (especially from a somehwta out of form team!) but it should only be a short term measure and his excellend rotation with Vorm means i can at least forget about my goalies till xmas. Having Given was starting to become a real ball ache

I had Given as well. Good grief that was an epic failure. I'm just gonna stick with my cheapies and invest the money up front. I'm on WC now..what are your thoughts on Lamps?

This is y I'm considering Westwood Vorm combo, although they don't rotate perfectly, I believe they offer enough as a combo to get me through to the Jan Wildy.

Looking for some advice on whether either of these moves are worth a 4pt hit for my team this week:

    A) Bosingwa and Best OUT ---> Brown and Bendtner IN.

    B) Ward and Rooney OUT ----> Monk and RVP IN.

I'm thinking A could be worth it and the best move out of the two. But looking for some advice. If you don't think either is worth the 4 point hit, or can see a better option, please feel free to post. I have one free transfer and 0.1 in the bank.

    As always, thanks in advance.

My team at the moment is:

    Vorm, Mignolet
    Wilkinson, Ward, Kompany, Simpson, Bosingwa
    VDV, Ramsey, Silva, Mata, Cleverley
    Best, Rooney, Adebayor

I don't think you need to do 4 point hit. In fact I think you can survive by carrying over a FT!!

      Vorm (Mignolet)
      Wilk, Komp, Bos (Ward, Simp)
      Play all 5 mids
      Roon, Ade (Best)

      Bosingwa might get a game

Next week deal with Mignolet and Best with ur two frees

Howdy people what would u do wit these bandits:

    Begovic (Vorm)

    Enrique Jones Kompany Simpson Naylor

    Silva VdV Petrov Bannan Moses

    Rooney Rvp Sturridge

    Have 2 free. Thinking Petrov > Drenthe/Sess
Anyone see an obvious second trade? Have .8 in bank.
    Thanks.

I like that move alot tbh. Had not even considered Brunt. Hmm something to mull over...
Who would you pick out of Drenthe and Sess? Currently on Sess cos hes more nailed on but Drenthe seema the more exciting prospect.

    Captains Poll...

    RVP 66%
    Aguero 5%

The bookies are offering Aguero at evens to score anytime with RVP at 11/10. To score 2 or more it's 11/2 Aguero, 6/1 RVP.

Hmmm...I lost out a fortnight ago by captaining Aguero instead of RVP but perhaps it's pay-back time.

Wondering which defender to play out of Enrique,Wilkinson and Gabbidon This week. Wilk seems to have best fixture but Enrique is a threat and Gabbs could have his week. Life is full of difficult decisions.Guidance appreciated.

Tough captain choice, its rotation vs poor form vs poor fixture, but I guess i'd play safe with Silva tbh, or chance Aguero with a solid vc.

      Worst case scenario:

      1
      2, 2, 2
      2, 2, 0, 2
      2, 2, 2

      But tbh, I reckon:

      6
      2, 6, 2
      5, 7, 7, 5
      6, 16, 5

Wait, wait, was that too generous with 67? Ah well, ever the optimist..

Also, Jones, Eagles, Morison vs. BAE, Pilkington, Ba/Bendtner

I'm leaning towards the second one, as Eagles/Morison doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, but on the other hand I don't have any United cover.

Alternatively Jones, Ba, 4.5 Mid (Probably Fox) Or Jones and any combination of 5th Mid/3rd Striker for 10.9 mil?

    Rest of WC team:

    Vorm/Westwood
    Enrique, Simpson, Wilkinson, McAuley
    VdV, Silva, Lamps, Drenthe
    RVP, Dzeko

tight game it will be, don't see lot of goals in it tbh, but would tip Sunderland to win it with fulham been a fickle side away from home. Sunderland played well at OT and didn't deserve to lose, they will miss Larsson this weekend, but still think they will win it.
