Yes, that’s right, crazy talk. There’s a lot of it about in this week’s ScoutCast episode – most of it originating from Mark’s chattering. Transfer in three defenders for a four point hit? Spend big money on Leighton Baines, dumping last season’s top Fantasy scorer? Has he finally lost the plot?

This is what an international break does to you. Suffering from cold turkey and with two free transfers burning away in the pocket, a Fantasy manager has to fight the jerky knee. In my own moment of madness, I even find myself trying to talk Mark out of his hasty moves.

Listen in on the lunacy, accompanied by the usual regulars, accompanied with another excavation of that Robin Van Persie assist – we just won’t let it lie.

    Indecisive:

    Vorm (Given)
Shawcross, Brown, Taylor (Taylor S, Simposon)
    VDV, Dempsey, Silva, Nasri (Dyer)
    Agbonlahor, Kun, Adebayor

    Nasri for Walters
    Taylor S for Baines (-4)
    or
    Taylor S for Assou Ekotto

Any other suggestions? (649 points; .3 in the bank, 1 free transfer)

Don't think Everton will hit form, get bonus points, set pieces, penalties, etc.? I"m not on the Rolls wagon (yet) and considered Depsey for Cahill at some point.

    WC Week:

    Vorm, Westwood
    Brown, Wilkinson, Kompany, Jones, Rangel
    Ramsey, Walters, Silva, Bale, Dyer
    RVP, Aguero, Bendtner

Is that a balanced enough team to take me through to the jan WC?? and is Rooney a good option in the coming gameweeks?????? also ramsey good buy???

Wait for Roonpig to hit form first.

Midpark is lightweight and shy of two heavyhitters imo: VDV and Nani. Downgrade Jones or Bad K to start freeing up the cash.

On my WC and am finding it difficult to decide on a team. I've had all kinds of variations including Lampard, Dzeko, Nani, Aguero, Bale, Sess amongst others. But at the moment it's:

    Westwood Vorm
    Jones Choppa McAuley Wilko Naylor
    Silva VDV Ramsey Drenthe Walters
    Roon RVP Bendy

I still have doubts over Rooney (for obvious reasons, but am a Utd fan and an optimist), Ramsey, Wilko (rotation) and if I've gone too cheap on DF.

Suggestions and opinions most welcome 🙂

Can't imagine a more awkward time to w/c.

I'd put your heavyweights in first and work around that. You've pretty much done that:

      Vorm, Silva, VDV, Roonpig, RVP.

It's the midfield budgeritos that put me off: wouldn't Pilkington, Eagles achieve what you'd normally get out of Ramsay and Walters. Plus you save some cash to boost other areas?

Too true about the WC. Played it thinking it was a great idea having the international week to make money (0.1 off Bale. whoopeee) and have a good think. Now it's a nightmare. I can't pick 3 strikers I'm happy with and the teams who have great fixtures areteams I'd prefer to stay away from (Sun, Eve, WBA). Horrible!

In answer to your question Jafa. I think Walters is a very sound purchase with fixtures, OOP etc... but Ramsey is certainly a gamble and perhaps Eagles or Milkman could equal his points or outscore him this season. So it's something to ponder

I would not like to bench any of the front 8 this week. Same with the defence. Im assuming you are playing Jones every week? The other 4 all play at home this week, so not much rotation options.

Well thats my next dilemma if I go for that team. Who to bench? Gotta be Ramsey really which kinda makes him pointless to bring in.

Might go for Jafas suggestion and drop Ramsey for Eagles and re-instate Enrique at his cheaper price (possible season keeper) for Wilko

Yes, Ramsay doesn't quite do enough ff-wise, does he?

Hey Jafa, have a query for ya. Now I've decided to stick with Nani the option falls at the back. Do u fancy Naylor to Turner (Enrique then sits the bench, Vorm plays in goals)
or Ruddy to Westwood (Enrique & Westwood both play)

    What are your thoughts?

    Leaning towards getting westwood.

I'm playing Enrique as LIV have only once conceded more than one goal in a game. CHS could be a tight affair.

Turner for me particularly as you already have Vorm in goal.

Vorm/Westwood isn't a great rotation - I checked this earlier as it's something I'd have considered. Ruddy frees up the cash but burns a 4 mill hole in your team.

We've all got SWN v UTD this week. Vorm will get save points. Be careful with Turner as Titus Bramble is playing in the reserves.

No, I'd be tempted to play Enrique if you haven't got Turner.

            Afternoon all

Regarding Titus, it seems he was dropped from the reserve game the other night and didn't feature at all. Also, I've read a couple of articles on Sky ( or somewhere ) in which Wes Brown gave Tina Turner the big thumbs up as his defensive partner and hoped they could continue to play together to develope a better understanding. Looks like Titus will be on the naughty step for a while longer, nevermind his fitness to play.

Also, the Sunderland striker Noble apparently played a blinder in that reserve game and may well make the bench this weekend. A bit of competition for Bendy perhaps?

Where does the assumption Rooney is out of form come from? He is playing out of position out of neccessity and due to injuries, so his points have dropped but I wouldn't say he is 'out of form'. He got bonus points last match, can't be struggling too much!

Wouldn't it be a case of wait and see if he is back up front moreso than wait until he hits form?

The only good thing I can say about the Rooney situation right now is that he will definitely be on the pitch. Whether in MF or upfront I dont know but he'll be on some set-pieces and pens thats for sure.

His run of low scores started when he was at striker - correct. But all had justifiable reasons.
        Chelsea (4) - Missed a pen
        Stoke (0) - Didn't play
Norwich (5) - Grabbed an assist, but that was all.
        Liverpool (1) - Played 20 minutes.
        Man City (2) - Lol.
Against both Everton and Sunderland he was in the midfield.
I'm thinking this 2 week rest will help him and he will be back up front against the Swans.
2-1 United, Rooney brace, goal + penalty (Mike Dean loves giving em away)

I am going to transfer Ferguson out next week since he has served his purpose. With the marathon of fixtures coming up in December & games getting suspended due to winter weather…who knows what might happen this time round. You can’t afford to have non-squad player in your bench. So I have 2.8 in the bank & out of this I was considering a mid-priced midfielder who offers most value in the following weeks; I already have Brunt by the way.

I like Walters or Sess (if you don't have Bendy). It's just my opinion of course but I think Stoke will bounce back from their Bolton humiliation and have great fixtures to do so. Having your MFer playing upfront could prove very lucrative. Sess is also looking good and has some nice fixtures ahead

I would get rid of Evans for sure, he'll play occasionally but will annoy the hell out of you the rest of the time.

To Jags though? He might not score again all season and will in that case bescoring in-line with the reasonably priced 4.8 Hibbert. Get im in instead?

Getting more and more tempted by Studge -> Bendtner... Someone give me good reasons not to. In favour:

    1) Sturridge more rotation threatened
    2) Bendtner on pens
    3) FIxtures
    4) Sturridge not exactly hoovering up points (form in FPL is 4.0 to Bendtner versus 1.3 to Sturridge)

    Argh, trying to resist...

    Vorm, Ruddy
    Kompany,Ward,Gabbidon,Simpson,Bos
    VDV,Silva,Moses,Petrov,Dyer
    RVP,Sturridge,Suarez

Bos-Brown/Turner (I like Turner for his goal threat from the Hull days, anyone remember that?!)
Petrov-Drenthe (dull but solid change I think!)

Tempted by a hit as the above would leave me 14 in bank....Keep Suarez and hope 1 more week?...or Rooney?! If not this week then Rooney or Clev come in next weekj

Ill prob go Brown, tis safer, just like idea of something a bit different....have Ward, Simspon, Gabbidon this week for eg, and may have to play 2 of them if VDV out...but a hit for a def is too much surely!haha

UUh, if that is for a 8 point hit than keep Suarez, Rooney and Aguero both have fixtures that wont be high scoring IMO. And Suarez is bound to score in this game, hes ratios suggest so :D, or he could score 2 in the next one.

For the next 10 or so gameweeks- I need 2 defenders
My options are: a Everton defender and a Tottenham defender or Man United defender and a 4 mil(Gabbidon, Mcauley or Riley) since I already have Wilk and Simpson.

Actually did not want to bring out names, to see how people view defensive potential of teams. Looking at Howard, BAE or Fridel, Hibbert or De Gea- 4mil. Personally like the first option as well, unless some really decent 4mil opportunity comes along, and having De Gea would mean that I would have Vorm sitting on the bench.

Morning peeps, i need a little help. Not sure what my best move is. So here is the deal, 2 Free Transfers, 0.5 in the bank, team link in username.

Problem areas are Nasri (form), Moses (form), Krul (fixtures), Sturridge (form) and to some extend Jose Enrique (fixtures).

    A) Krul-->Westwood, Nasri-->Nani
    B) Krul-->Westwood, Moses-->Rodwell
    C) Rooney-->Hernandez, Nasri-->Nani, Moses-->Drenthe (4pt hit)
    D) Nasri-->Silva, Jose Enrique-->W Brown
    E) Sturridge-->Bendtner, Moses-->Rodwell

Ahh just too many options, anyone want to help me out? Perhaps even try to narrow down my most pressing area? Any comments much appreciated.

Tierney-->Brown or Sturr-->Bendy? I'd keep Enrigue. You really do need Silva in there.

I do, problem is Nasri-->Silva leaves me with -0.5 to make up. Which has to some from somewhere.

Well, you shouldn't be bothering Krul, that's for sure!

May I suggest Sturridge to Klasnic, Moses to Rodwell?

Klasnic eh? Do you not think that his recent score somewhat flatters him? I genuinely don't know how he is playing mind you.

Keep Krul. He and Vorm rotate pretty well. Since Westwood is the polar opposite of Krul, he won't rotate with Vorm.

      Keep Rooney too imo.

      And Enrique.

What does that leave? Strudge to Bendtner - well that's one I'm considering too, but not completely convinced.

I guess 'option E' is most sensible. About Krul, I also have him and I will keep him in starting XI despite the fixtures.

I think Bendtner is a viable third striker option, but not as one of your 'big hitters'
I'd downgrade the back and get in a Rooney/Aguero/Adebayor or someone.

How long is Mignolet out for?

Vorm/(Krul/Kenny) is probably a better budget keeper set.

Walker -> BAE - I think they'll score the same and BAE is cheaper.

Can't really find fault everywhere else, I would probably do things a little different, but its more personal preference than you being 'wrong' or making a bad choice.

Okay, okay, I give you one more chance to talk me out of doubling on everton defence.
Jags + Bae or Jones + Wilko?
Other defenders are K, Enrigue and Bart (+ Howie and Vorm)

I see it like two nailed on starter vs two who have at least little rotation threat and winter is coming....

So what does one make of all these people dropping VDV like a stone? He's been a points machine, faces (according to latest info) a 25% chance of missing one (that's ONE) game, and his NTO flies through the roof. Strike anyone else as bizarre?

I've just noticed a tasty eagles/ formica rotation, right up until the January wild card. I know a couple of people on here have been bigging up formica, but I haven't seen much of him. What are the latest thoughts?

On my WC and currently have Ramsey and a bench sitter (probably Allen). But eagles/ formica instead would give me enough to upgrade ruddy to krul (have vorm) and keep Saylor rather than down grade to simpson (had him from the start). Thoughts?
