Welcome to the first Community Round Up of the new look Fantasy Football Scout. While the website’s design may have changed, the imminent double Gameweeks continue to dominate discussion, as they have for much of last month. Our community writers were on hand to offer the latest tips on strategy and key targets for the busy fixture schedule, while our hot topic posters weigh up the value of Alexis Sanchez and the fall out from an international break that saw two popular goalkeepers sidelined.

The Community Articles

Last week’s news that Everton and Crystal Palace will face a pair of fixtures in both Gameweeks 33 and 34 prompted Balders to rewrite his must-read double Gameweek strategy guide.

Bowstring the Carp cast an eye over some key players to acquire as he looked ahead to April’s games and back on March’s top stars.

For those looking to take a punt this weekend, ahead of a Gameweek 33 wildcard, The Sarjeant’s colour coded look at team form will be essential reading as will Bolivian Seaman’s analysis of the latest fan forum mutterings.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

With so many premium-priced players looking enticing as double Gameweek 34 options, a key dilemma to emerge – according to The Hindu Monkey – is whether to stick with Spurs striker Harry Kane or opt for Arsenal’s midfielder Alexis Sanchez.

As Draftcup points out Sanchez could be a shrewd purchase but his hefty price tag is certain to deter many punters.

In the search for inspiration ahead of the flurry of double Gameweeks, the community looked through the mists of time to remember the key lessons they’ve learned from previous bumper fixture Gameweeks. Among those with plenty of experience of tackling tricky fixture lists is those riding high in our latest Hall of Fame update.

Bonus points take on an extra importance during a double Gameweek, particularly when considering where to place the armband. Balders has also been busy offering some expert analysis on the Fantasy Premier League’s Bonus Point System that is used to allocate bonus points.

The international break proved heartbreaking for two popular goalkeepers amongst the community, Jack Butland of Stoke and Newcastle’s Rob Elliot. Butland has provided a glut of points over the season to his many investors, while Elliot was a key transfer target ahead of Newcastle’s two home matches during Gameweek 34. Shortly after the extent of Butland’s injury was known, we assessed the weekend options for his many owners.

Finally, thanks for all the positive feedback about the new design of FFScout. Among our favourite reactions was Bedknobs and Boomsticksfeeling that he was stepping into a famous Roal Dahl novel.

The Members Tables

Mbilton’s latest table takes an in-depth look at Everton players’ performances over the last six matches to find the best targets ahead of their three double Gameweeks.

Meanwhile, Kushal21 has been visiting row z to find out the Premier League’s worst shooters.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form.

The Community Tournaments

Jarvish’s Frequent Posters Cup reaches the last 16 stage in Gameweek 32 with the previous round’s highest scorer Icon facing ShowMeTheMane, while Spineless Weasel’s encounter with Pompeyfan is another eye catching match up.

Kings of Lyon’s newly-launched Going Out With a Bang league has the dual aim of providing an enticing end of season competition for those in the rankings doldrums, as well as some intriguing analysis of how the community aims to use chips and wildcards between Gameweek 32 and 38.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Yesterday I got into the top 10k for the first time this season. I'll probably be outside top 10k after today. Can I still say I've been inside top 10k this season, or doesn't mid-gameweek ranking count?
