Years ago, this site was but a small, intimate little affair with a sprightly host and never to be forgotten posters, with names like Necromancer, Puffin Boy and Yer Dad. On those pages, in a dark recess, lived a precious little list entitled the “Suspension Tightrope”, where the poor and damned were outed and their misdemeanors listed for all to see.

As this site has grown and grown, inevitably some of the old favourites were left behind, to be replaced by new shiny and fancy widgets. The “tightrope†found itself discarded – names like Ferguson, Keane, Vieira, Reo-Coker, Palacios, no longer had their name in lights.

Now however, it’s time to roll back the years.

For ScoutCast listeners, this wont be so much of a shock, but for anyone who failed to tune in to Mark and Granville’s dulcet tones earlier in the week, let me introduce myself. I’m Anorak and I’ve been resurrecting the Suspension Tightrope over the last year or so. Now the time has finally come to bring it back to the Fantasy Football Scout homepage. Next week we’ll see the widget return in the sidebar – for now, you’ll have to make do with my first round-up.

Saturday’s update sees no fewer than 22 yellows dished out across the games, with two of those combining into an unfortunate red for our first name on the ban list this weekend – Blackburn’s David Dunn. A pair of yellows means a one-match ban to be served in Gameweek 13. Joining him for a one week soiree on the suspension list, we have QPR’s Joey Barton and the Wolves pair of Stephen Hunt and Jamie O’Hara ; all three picked up their fifth yellows of the season today. That quartet replace Blackburn’s Jason Lowe and Seb Larsson of Sunderland who have both served their Gameweek 12 punishment; the FA charge for Antolin Alcaraz means he remains out of the picture.

Banned players for Gameweek 13: David Dunn, Joey Barton, Antolin Alcaraz, Stephen Hunt, Jamie O’Hara

As a couple of names move off the tightrope, they are immediately replaced. First up, fresh from his action packed afternoon is Ryan Shawcross, he picked up his fourth in the 3-2 defeat to QPR. Joining him with the same card count is Lee Cattermole. Two names who are no stranger to suspension tightrope.

Current Suspension Tightrope : Gabby Agbonlahor, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Brede Hangeland, Steve Sidwell, Gareth Barry, Ryan Shawcross, Glen Whelan, Lee Cattermole, Richard Stearman.

We’ll round things up again following Monday’s game, as Gameweek 12 concludes.

    Re-post time!

    Given (Begovic)
    Kompany Brown BAE (Enrique Simpson)
    Ramsey Walters VdV Mata (Dyer)
    Bendtner RVP Adebayor

Thinking Given > Vorm before the drop, and then replace Bego later if he stays benched.

    Got my priorities right here?

    Soft penalty for Everton.

Some bad decisions today by the refs.

On Irish TV (the premiership highlights shown at 8pm)
Hunt was interviewed he claimed that the penalty was "played for" and was clever, even though it was a soft pen.
He was more annoyed about the corner beforehand, which he claimed was not a efc corner.

Bonsoir les gars! I'm finally getting rid of Given before he falls in price so as to raise funds to strengthen my attack - I ideally need at least £0.5m. As Vorm is my other keeper, which option would you suggest?

    a) Ruddy (4.0, and always play Vorm)
    b) Sørensen (4.3, but was today's appearance a one-off?)
    c) Westwood (4.4, though already have Brown)
    d) Kenny (4.5, good rotation, but not many clean sheets)
    e) Hennessey (4.5, see Kenny)
    f) Krul (4.6, though already have Simpson)

    Voi che ne dite?

Krul, but if that .5 is vital then Westwood is a decent punt until January WC, although I don't think he rotates very well with Vorm

I was going to get ruddy instead of given myself. Vorm is also my other keeper. But since I have no newcastle defenders (unlike the poster above) so I got Krul.
My logic is also that Swansea are surely going to "do a blackpool" once injuries kick in??
So a good second keeper important.

Disagree with you on the Blackpool bit. Swansea conceded due to their insistence on keeping possession tonight. This is what will achieve more CSs. They've also been hit by defensive injuries.

Blackpool were cavalier and then some.

Yes, Schwarzer was on my mind as well. Apart from the fact that I wouldn't gain any money, Fulham's next few home games aren't great though, and they've picked up three of their four clean sheets away from home (which is when I'd play Vorm). Still tempted, mind you.

Evening all. Would greatly appreciate any comments on my attempt at a wildcard team.

    Westwood / Ruddy

Jones / Enrique / Simpson / Neil Taylor / McAuley

    Lampard / Silva / VDV / Drenthe / Allen

    RVP / Adebayor / Ba

Adebayor is in there out of fear, my main rival has him, plus his fixtures are good.

    Any thoughts?

If being picky, I'd go Vorm/Krul and downgrade Ba for Yakubu.

Although Ba looks a strong pick from GW15 and onwards

Yeah, I went through a similar thought process; had Hoilett in and Krul rather than Ruddy. Ba's 8 goals in his last 7 games convinced me otherwise though!

Guess I will see how Mata and Adebayor go.

Not a sensible time to get Lamps in; I've just reconsidered. May as well wait and see if he gets a yellow tomorrow, because if he does, he misses the wolves game, then has newcastle and city, two tough games in attacking terms, in which case GW16 might be a better shout. If he gets through tomorrow unscathed on the other hand, then that extra game vs wolves certainly helps to justify it!

    My thoughts on Rooney...*SCRATCH*...my thoughts on having brought Rooney back in on my WC ;

People are thinking of getting rid, understandably so, especially if you've had him from GW1 and have had 6, 7 or 8 weeks of frustration. I got rid GW8, thankfully before he dropped 0.5m.

I thought he looked great this evening. His vision and passing is, and always has been exquisite. I know that doesn't always translate into assists but it is good considering the new BP system.

I think the goals will come with the favourable run of fixtures, especially if Valencia and Young are restored to the side ahead of the ineffectual Nani. Don't forget that Rooney is (possibly) the best scorer of headed goals in the league. Add in direct FKs and pens....I'm keeping him for a while.
I accept Hernandez could steal some points but my logic behind getting Rooney into my team all still holds true.

    Wait a sec....Rooney to Torres(c)....home to Wolves....hmmmm.

Swansea away is tough yet his fantasy return was only let down by those around him- he played as a second striker but was in dangerous areas. He will produce fantasy-wise against weaker teams- that I am sure of. Whether the returns will befit such a hefty price-tag is another matter, it's not looking promising with a clear lack of creativity without Cleverley who is out until Christmas unfortunately ðŸ™

I know with the bonus point system this year that cause he scored he is most likely to get the 3 bps, but im just saying he was far from the best player out there today. Carrick would be my MOM followed by Vidic and Jones although it is extremely unlikey that them three will get the bonus points.

After many Gameweeks of "getting a good feeling" about a player and making useless transfers, i decided to ignore this "good feeling" on Yakubu this Gameweek....cue 10 points with bonus to likely follow...had the option to trade Sturridge for him, but chose not to based on the Wolves fixture next weekend.
    Go Sturridge vs Liverpool!

My other trade i ignored was Bosingwa->Richards!
    Bosingwa 5.8-> +0.4 i had in the bank= 6.2 which equalled Richards!

    Epic fail.

On another note i really want Bendtner vs Wigan next weekend,

    I have Adebayor(WBA) RVP(Fulham) and Sturridge(Wolves)

Who would people risk shipping out of those 3?

I had a brief thought of getting on the Bendy Bus.
Then I snapped back to reality and realised it was Bendtner.
I'd prefer all 3 of your strikers over Bendtner with those fixtures for sure.
I'd look at Klasnic or Ba (in a few weeks) for Sturridge rather than Bendtner.

Sturridge would have been the likely transfer out i mus admit, but Wolves are conceeding a lot of goals on the road so i may just hold on to him.

I'm pretty sure Sir Wayne of Rooney and the like are on the shortlist.

Surely if Platini had quite the vendetta against this country that some suggest he does, it would be more productive to exclude someone more... English.

Cheers pal. How are things here?

This is the first time I've encountered this new layout, and it's rather disorientating.

Yeah, it was the same for me but after a couple weeks, it felt normal as i got used to it.

Things are alright, your man RVP is pretty much saving our bacon every week now. He can't stop scoring

Just as well, no one else can actually start scoring.

Exactly, from the feedback im getting from my mates etc... RVP doesn't scare them like Rooney, Aguero or even..... Suarez. Crazy but it's true, people still underestimate his ability.

I remember watching Soccer Saturday a few weeks back when they were talking about RVP and Merson said "His form is up there with Suarez this season" Suarez? Really? Pundits love him!

While still a very good player, Suarez has become ridiculously overrated.

I'm not quite sure how either. High proportion of ex-Liverpool players infiltrating might have something to do with it I guess.

Should I make any changes to this for next week or would I just be making changes just to make them?

Ah I don't know man..He played alright today but Blackburn are generally crap this season. Was thinking Sturridge in for Agbon?Doesn't exactly free up funds but I've been winging it and it's been going well so far

Hehe I know it's a tough one, but I reckon Blackburn to bag some goals as their fixtures are easing up.

As a CFC fan I'm not too convinced about Sturridge, surely more of a striker than winger

Hi all, just after some thoughts...

Pretty happy with my front 8... Back 7 are -

    Given / Al-Habsi
    Walker / Brown / Richards / Smalling / R Taylor

    1.3m in the bank.

A - Given out is an obvious one to be looking to go with
B - Smalling? How much longer is he out and what's the chances of him being a starter once back? If not, I guess better to lose before another price drop. But Given more pressing re fixtures...

Who would rotate best at the moment till January wild card with Al-Habsi?

    Cheers.
