The first competitive game of the domestic season warrants our first Dugout Discussion.

There is just so much on show to interest Fantasy Football managers, as Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City clash with Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United under the baking sun of Wembley.

The form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will inevitably come under the closest scrutiny – the latter begins on the bench but Ibrahimovic starts; his display will surely be crucial to his burgeoning ownership levels over the next 24-hours.

But it’s dangerous to ignore Leicester.

Both Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy are on Ranieri’s teamsheet as they bid to play their way into our day one thinking for the potentially profitable trip to Hull City. Again, their performances could change everything, forcing us back to the drawing board in a matter of hours.

It’s a fascinating scenario and a fitting taster to the season kick-off next weekend.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

For those looking for a crazy 4.0 defender, BBC Wales Sport journalist says Kingsley is 'quite sure' that he'll play 'for the first game at least' for the Swans.

The wording of that is terrible. He is 'quite sure' that Kingsley will play 'for the first game at least'.

      Phew.

Sweet. Really can't see that happening, but need a 4mill defender. I'll take your gamble as there doesn't seem to be anyone else

I have a feeling Mahrez is the next Michu, a one season wonder. If you look at his past few seasons, last year sticks out like a sore thumb:

    2011–12 9 0
    2012–13 39 5
    2013–14 19 5
    2013–14 19 3
    2014–15 32 4
    2015–16 39 (games) 18 (goals)

    How we looking?

    Mandanda
    Valencia VVD Friend
    Mane Tadic Ramirez Hazard
    Kun Ibra Gray

    Jaku McAuley Capoue Kingsley

    Content...at the moment.

      I like it

    Foster (Jako)
    Gabriel, Ward, Friend (Kone, Amat)
Hazard, Tadic, Ramirez, Feghouli (Capoue if fit)
    Aguero, Zlatan, Kane

My main worries are Amat, Capoue, 2 x 5.5 mids but the front three (+ Hazard) are extremely attractive and it'll be easier to drop whichever doesn't start well rather than trying to jump on a moving bandwagon.

Front 3 beautiful on paper but really think you need to downgrade 1 for the good of your team

    Mandanda (WBA) (Jakupovic)

Azpi (WHU) - Sagna (SUN) - Morgan (hul) (Friend, Smith)

Hazard (WHU) - Mane (ars) - Mahrez (hul) - Lamela (eve) - Allen (mid)

Aguero (SUN) - Gray (SWA) (Negredo)

Any thoughts on my team are appreciated...

Lessons of the day: ManUtd / Leicester

    - Bailly nailed andwill be a BAPS magnet
    - Valencia taking the armband from Rooney - Does that mean he is nailed?
    - Ibra - A more expensive version of Carroll?
    - Rooney still not finding his feet
    - Vardy full of energy and ready to cause havoc
    - Musa - explosive and tailored to Leicester game
    - Martial edge it over Mikhi today - but what's next?

    Would you start with:

    A) Martial Vardy (do Vardy to Costa gw2)

    B) Mahrez Costa (do Mahrez to Martial/Mhki/Ozil gw2, whoever is in form)

      A) for me.

I know but I'm currently on B since I would really like Costa but everyone seems to think Vardy will deliver big time. I'm not so sure about Mhki/Martial so better to start with Mahrez and switch later to the one that plays well I thought 😀

Hull is the big tempter with Vardy.

Not sure Costa will be around at Chelsea.

It's a gamble as United were very good defensively today whereas Hull in all likelihood should be a lot easier for Mahrez to perform against. I'm not seeing the same player as last season though so far.
