In the first of a number of members articles over the international break, we delve into the data from the Gameweek gone by. Palace’s approach with Christian Benteke arrives under the radar, whilst we also take a look at Paul Pogba’s first away outing for United, Chelsea’s in-form attacking duo and the performance of City’s playmaker in the weekend win over West Ham.

Cant see the point in wildcarding when have to account for a future transfer in for Aguero. Takes away much of the attraction of a wildcard.
What happens in Two weeks when have to bring him back and there are other injuries etc to worry about, could become messy, especially with the safety net of the wildcard gone

Same. Especially given its such a short turnaround.

Not to mention its still hard to tell who the form players are yet so the WC team could be awfully wrong.

Nopoint in WC'ing just for Aguero. But, if Aguero is the straw that broke the camel's back...

Another injury or two over the break would leave us no choice but to WC but if we can get through that then a hit would be enough for me personally

Just an FT and money ITB for me. Will take the price rise on the chin and get me my Ars mid next week with another FT. also helps me decide which one to get from the Wizard of Oz and Sánchez.

Completely agree but using the value he frees up for two GWs could result in enough points to negate the -4 to get him back. I'm still not sure what to do though.

      I agree Trigger.

Except if Aguero is the last straw. My team is good and doesn't need surgery but I think some people struggling might.

It hurts me to see Ozil Sanchez and Sterling go up in value but I don't fancy any of them this week, so that can be taken. I also have many of the likely risers this week.

so so true....now let me figure this out and the rest is easy

      a) Kun Redmond to Lukaku Ozil 0.5ITB
      b) Kun Redmond to Vardy Mane (have Firmino) 0.2ITB

      c) Kun Lamela to Lukaku Sanchez 0ITB
      d) Kun Lamela to Lukaku Ozil 1.5ITB
      e) Kun Lamela Gray to Lukaku Ozil Benteke (-4) 0.6IIB
      f) Kun Lamela to Vardy Ozil 0.6ITB

      g) Kun Firmino to Lukaku Sanchez 1.5ITB
      h) Kun Firmino Geay to Lukaku Sanchez Benteke (-4) 0.5ITB

      i) Kun Gray to Lukaku Vardy 0.6ITB
      j) Kun Gray to Lukaku Costa 0.9ITB
      k) Kun Gray to Vardy Costa 0ITB

Im not sure Aguero even needs to be sold. The red flag means more transfers needed to drop. First drop free anyways, and its not as if spending all that Aguero money for Two weeks would guarantee more points.
Using Two transfers to bring him on and out means neglecting rest of team. , while wildcarding to do it also has its own issues

    Foster Heaton
    Shaw Stones Friend Pieters Amat
    Hazard Firmino Lamela Redmond Capoue
    Kun Ibra Gray

Assuming they both get a ban, I am planning to do Kun and Gray to somebody else, perhaps Lukaku and Benteke or Rondon for -4 hit. I really want to save my wild card because there still seems to be so much uncertainty. The question is should I take another hit while I am at it and get Ozil in for Redmond? That would be -8 total.

I would say yes, but I think if any of your players get injured during the international break and you need to sell them you'll be in big trouble, so if you can wait if its possible.

Thanks. I will just need to keep an eye on prices. Another option would be to take the hits now and then hit the WC if players get injured. The problem then is that I could not take advantage of any price rises that comes from wildcarding. Thing is that I am already behind in that regard. Sterling seems likely to be a double riser and I have already missed one price increase. I would like to get Sterling, but I am not going to break the bank to get him right before he faces Man U's defense.

Rank after 3 weeks is irrelevant. Rank over the previous seasons is important. You missed the point TM. If Mark ranked over 1m year after year, then yes, his advice would have to be questioned. But I think you know this is what I meant, eh?

They'll play 4-3-3 with Sterling / Nolito / KDB rotating through the 9, then bring Nacho on for the final half hour and revert back to 4-2-3-1. Given his output as a sub so far he'd be an interesting punt, for the brave!

I'd expect them to both play. If Pardew was willing to play Wickham and Benteke - two targets - together, I think he will be even more willing to play Benteke and Remy together.

Too early to tell what Pardew has in mind.

When Newcastle had their best season under Pardew they started with 2 up front, namely Ba and Ameobi/Best. Later that season they had switched to a front 3 of Ben Arfa, Ba and Cisse.

When he had Remy at Newcastle, I think he deployed Remy as a wide attacker at times.

Makes not wildcarding more attractive if price changes will be slow over the break. Still worried about missing rises on Bailly, Sterling and a few others I might want long term, but not enough to do anything about it.

Stick or twist: I'm at 15k with Aguero and the following:

Firmino - I dont have Sterling or Arsenal attack
    Redmond
    Rondon

    1. Ziro
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

15k is immaterial at this stage of the season.

And twist what?? It all depends on whether Aguero is banned or not and for how many games. If it is just a fine then hold. If a ban for less than 3 games, and have WC then can sell/hold. If no WC then could hold if decent 4th def or 5th mid.

      1. Big Red Dog

My rank just to give a decent idea of my points obviously. 3 games in I wouldnt say immaterial

And isn't he banned definitely? Violent conduct is a ban no? If it's 3 I'm WCing and was looking to replace those players.

Has Diomande played alright so far, is he a decent bench option at 4.6 or am I just asking for trouble? Thanks

Only saw first game but he was decent, looked confident

    2. Rainer

He's looked decent but he'd be trouble trying to upgrade at that price. Nothing else decent for another 2mill.

Wildcard team out of 10 please:
    Cech (Jakupovic)
    Valencia Evans Baines (Amat Wilson)

    What's good/bad?

Wilson & Amat doesn't look ideal as back for defence
