We can’t quite call it a comeback but it’s progress.

Jonty’s radical solution to help solve his nosediving season was to throw off the shackles of his traditional dullard ways and start taking transfer hits.

It’s working, a 74-point Gameweek is enough to get him back and track and edging towards unlikely respectability. Like a Phoenix, dusting himself down and now pondering a rise from the ashes.

Personally, I’m not sure what’s more puzzling, Jonty’s struggles this season or Andy’s determination to cling to Zlatan Ibrahimovic like some muscular, ponytailed comfort blanket. At least Granville was wise enough to get rid after the Swede failed him yet again.

In this latest ScoutCast, we tackle Jonty’s reversal of fortune and Andy and Granville’s Zlatan woes, before embarking on another round of questions from you, the community.

The Gundoganwagon, Valencia replacements and looming doubts over the Arsenal teamsheet dominate the chatter.

When you reply to a comment, what's the correct protocol?

If replying to the original post, do you always hit the reply button under the OP, or do you still just reply to the last comment under the OP?

        I don't know.

I usually just always hit the reply button under the comment I want to address.

Seems obvious but I've noticed sometimes it doesn't quite sit within the conversation correctly and results in a reply fail regardless.

I agree, but many people don't, and I find it can make the discussion confusing.

I asked the question for clarification because it's obvious to me a lot of people are getting it wrong.

Case in point, someone below asked who to bench. I replied Capoue, then swiftly received two reply notifications of 'Capoue' and then 'Kun'. Obviously those two people were replying to the OP, however they replied to my post and not the OP's.

    Morning guys,

Is this move worth a -4?

Bolasie, Costa, Capoue to Hazard, Austin, and De Roon?

Thinking ahead to a potential suspension for Costa, and Everton have a turn in fixtures, Capoue/De Roon is a 5th non playing midfielder.

    Heaton - Foster
    Shaw - Stones - Holebas - Friend - Amat
    Sanchez - Bolasie - Firmino - Allen - Capoue
    Aguero - Costa - Lukaku

      Yes definitely

I wouldn't jump the gun before Costa gets his suspension. He's been very well behaved last few games - may make it to Christmas. I'd say this week Hazard and Costa have the chance of scoring the same amount and not sure Austin will outscore bolasie by 4 to justify hit. Is Capoue -> De roon necessary for funds?

      1. HamezMace
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 1 month ago

Yeah, Capoue to De Roon creates 0.4m needed to fund the other moves.

I like Bolasie, but I just feel I am covered with Lukaku who will surely be involved in 90% of the Everton goal involvement this season. It's just been nice that Bolasie has managed to get himself involved as well.

    Gomes (Pickford)
    Smith Mee Holebas Bellerin Walker
    Wally Firmino Allen Capoue Fletcher
    Aguero Kaku Costa

Badly need to free up some defensive funds to upgrade my midfield. Thoughts on these?

    a) Walker + Wally > Gibson + Hazard
    b) Bellerin + Wally + Capoue > Gibson + Hazard + Gundogan
    c) Bellerin + Wally + Capoue > Gibson + Coutinho + Redmond

Would love to bring Hazard in, but would also like to double up on Liverpool Midfield, and also don't want to lose my consistently performing strikeforce in case I get stung!

    Any advice appreciated!

A, but not with Gibson. I'd go Friend if you want a MID defender (but look at their fixtures!), or Pieters/Evans if you want a nicer run of games.

Contemplating (depending on whether Bellerin is fit tomorrow) the following:

        Bellerin/Walker+Wally+Capoue > Stones+Coutinho+Redmond

Then next gameweek maybe downgrade Costa or Lukaku (depending on this weekend's match) to upgrade the midfield.

        Reckon that'd work?

Currently 11K OR and top of my ML but have some serious issues with my team

    1FT 0.1m ITB

    Pick Jaku
    Bellerin Vertonghen Holebas Smith Amat
    Sanchez Sterling Firmino Coutinho Capoue
    Aguero Lukaku Diomande

Thoughts on transfers, save or take a hit to sort out now?

    1. Zale
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

Might downgrade Bellerin or Vertonghen to upgrade Sterling to Hazard maybe? ARS/TOT fixtures turning bad, Hazard's form.
But could hold Sterling fixtures wise? Maybe Diomande>Austin instead?

      1. The Left Duke #3

Struggling to decide whether to do it now for a hit or wait until after break and have 2 FT.

I think I do need to downgrade either Bell/Vert or Sterling to free up funds to upgrade Capoue/Diomande

I wouldn't say "serious issues". You just need to get Allen in for Capoue and then figure out the best way to upgrade on of your keepers.

      1. The Left Duke #3
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 1 month ago

Maybe being over dramatic but I can see this going pear shaped over the international break.

Have 3 DF's on 4 YC's, potentially both GK's losing there place with Mannone back, 4 SAmericans who could be rested, Diomande suspended & Amat dropped.

    3. Get up ya bum
      • 16 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

      Biggest issue is capoue/diomande.
My plan would be to swap Alexis or sterling to walcott to fund an upgrade. Could roll the dice and do it this week for -4, eg Alexis/diomande > walcott/Austin. Theo's fitness makes it dicey.
Otherwise play capoue or a 4th defender and sort it next week for free.
I'd follow that up with jakupovic to heaton

      1. The Left Duke #3

Ya Capoue has been a disaster with price drops and points of late. Initially went 352 with Diomande bench fodder with the intention of upgrading Cap to Snoddy (who then lost form and got injured). Have addressed other issues since and am now in limbo.

I think with the Int Break coming up and potential suspension/benched disasters incoming I might just save and reassess in a couple of weeks

I would yes. And my preference for Holebas is driven by attacking potential points. Neither Walker nor him very likely to keep a CS but Holebas takes set pieces and goes forward

But Allen plays away against WHU without Shaqiri and Arnautovic, so I that's why I was thinking benchin him this GW and maybe use AOA chip next GW. It's true that Holebas might be better selection than Walker this GW.

Thought about it, but not entirely convinced with him so waiting to see more.
As I've got a couple other areas needing improvement i don't want to take risks on this one and go for someone who I'll keep for a while

    Rest of team:
    Foster / Pickford
    Williams / Lovren / Evans / Pieters / Amat
    Coutinho / Firmino / Walcott / Antonio / Rodwell
    Aguero / Costa / Lukaku

    Sterling + Capoue

    OR

    Firmino and 4.5m (Oviedo?)

    Already have Aguero and Coutinho

Sterling better than Firmino if you already have Coutinho

I like diversification and having exposure to more teams rather than doubling up. Especially if one of those teams is City. Coutinho delivering more at the same price and Sterling may explode any game week really.

Why not? Just curious on the logic. Sterling is cheaper than Firmino, on the same points and in a team charging for the title and scoring loads

you dont need diversification when liverpool playing the way they are! Frimino and Sanchez are essential players in my opinion because of their OOP status

    Heaton, Forster
    Stones, Azpilicueta, Walker, Fuchs, McAuley
    Coutinho, Sterling, Capoue, Shaqiri, Drinkwater
    Aguero, Ibra, Grabban

I got 2 FT , Im thinking of transfer Ibra and Drinkwater for Sanchez and Austin. is it okay or any suggestion ?

Im using 3-5-2 formation for week 11.

Hvae 1FT, should I hold or use it somewhere?

    Foster
    Williams-Lovren- Holebas
    Sanchez--Firmino-Sterling-Antonio-
    Aguero-Lukaku-Austin

    Pickford-Capoue-Amat-Pieters

I'd ditch Antonio for Allen (or Gundogan if you believe his run is sustainable)

Your team looks good. I would save FT and give Antonio a last run at home against a weakened stoke.
2FT will be very usefull during the international break.

Defender Rhoys Wiggins, who is on loan at Birmingham, has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury.

But Eddie Howe says he has no other long term injuries, adding: "just a few bumps and bruises here and there."

      Should be fit

So the general feeling on Walcott is that he's fit enough to be in the squad but not guaranteed to start?

Seems to be. It's infuriating watching him drop (twice already this week!) over a lack of decent information, when there's every chance he could play this weekend.

Not the most exciting choices, but I need to play one of the below. Neither likely to get more than 2pts, but who has the higher ceiling do you think?

    a) Williams (che)

    b) Capoue (liv)

doubt it. Can't see Guardiola risking their return to form by suddenly starting one of their lazier players

gm guys here is my team and i want your opinion about two moves.
    pickford
    blind konsielny smith (walker friend)
    walcott allen firminho antonio (mason)
    lukaku kun costa
I have 1ft and 0.5itb.I am thinking the following two transfer options
    a)konsielny>lovren or morgan
    and
    antonio>coutinho or sterling
in both of them i ll play 3-4-3
I also have a thought about strating mason instead of allen but prop not.
    thanks for the answers

    A.Williams(away chel)

    C.Evans(away liec)
    D.Kelly(away burn)

    I'm currently on C and D!
