Aaron Ramsey is ruled out of Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea and Olivier Giroud requires a late fitness test. Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels is still sidelined for a trip to Everton, while Virgil van Dijk could be out for up to three months with an ankle injury.

Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are set for late fitness tests ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Chelsea, though Arsene Wenger expects both to be available. Aaron Ramsey is ruled out for three weeks with a calf complaint.

Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has been ruled out for the season after suffering knee ligament damage in training. Charlie Daniels is also unavailable for the trip to Goodison, though Max Gradel is back in contention after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Calum Chambers has a chance of returning for Middlesbrough’s clash with Spurs, though Gaston Ramirez and George Friend are still unavailable.

Virgil van Dijk has been ruled out for two to three months with an ankle complaint, while James Ward-Prowse and Jay Rodriguez will continue to be assessed ahead of Southampton’s clash with West Ham, Claude Puel has confirmed. Meanwhile, cub-record signing Manolo Gabbiadini looks in line for a debut after arriving from Napoli on transfer deadline day.

Xherdan Shaqiri remains sidelined for Stoke’s clash with West Brom, while Glen Johnson is expected to miss out again. Wilfried Bony and Mame Biram Diouf are back in the squad after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Leon Britton is back in training and comes into contention for Swansea’s trip to the Etihad. New signing Jordan Ayew won’t be available, though, as he is still turning out for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Sunderland new boys Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson will be “in and around the squad” for the trip to Palace, David Moyes has confirmed. Papy Djilobodji serves the second of a four-match suspension.

Steven Defour is sidelined for Burnley’s trip to Watford due to a hamstring problem. New boys Robbie Brady and Ashley Westwood are both available to make their debuts, Sean Dyche has confirmed.

Marco Silva has confirmed that new signings Alfred N’Diaye and Kamil Grosicki are available for Hull’s home encounter against Liverpool. Dieumerci Mbokani is also in contention after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, though Lazar Markovic cannot play against his parent club.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Why would you get rid of a Chelsea defender, especially for one that also blanks. Since you already have 2 big hitters up front in Kane and Ibra, downgrade Giroud to a non-blanker like Carroll or Llorente

I'm putting in coleman next week, more of a threat from open play - you're relying on peno's (which Lukaku could easily take back) with Baines.

so are most looking to wildcard in gw29 to fix the team after fileding as many as possible in gw 28? we will know about dgw's by then right?

Thought about the merits of that strategy but not sure it would be worth burning the WC that early before the DGWs start, maybe though.

Probably. But I think my approach to the blanks might be to try and pre-empt the masses, i.e. If it looks like everyone is selling the big names,l then sell too. Their price will drop and you could buy back cheaper.

Couple of problems trying to do that though is
      1. You might have bought your big names way back so even a 0.3 fall in value means you still lose money buying them back.
      2. You've got to be confident enough people are going to sell, but sell before any price falls.

Hence I will be constantly checking http://fplstatistics.co.uk/Home/IndexAndroid

Goddamn, injuries all over the place for my team!

Defence : Evans, Rose, Holebas, Kinglsey and Holegate

    A) Defoe and Rose to Walker and Carroll (-4) Leaves me with 1.4. itb
    B) Rose to Baines/ Coleman
    C) Save and hope for the best

Thanks for advice. I totally get the point that I need to pick the one who gets the most points without thinking about my rival, but with Alli and Eriksen I really can't decide. But now that my ML-rival has bought Alli he has pretty much made the decision for me, haven't he?

Certified. But I'm going for it too as there isn't a real standout captain option this week and I'm reasonably confident Aguero starts.

He has zero form but hopefully will want to send a message. He also had Silva, De Bruyne, Yaya, Sterling, Sane/Jesus creating chances. It's just a ridiculously attacking team.

Out of interest what is your teams total value and what would they be worth to you if you sold them all?
    My teams value is 105.4
    If I sold everyone I'd have 102.5

GW's 26 & 28 blanks are a pain in the a-hole but could be good for us chasing ML rivals. On the downside - if we take players out then we then need to bring players back which uses up valuable transfers and possibly minus points in terms of hits - not an easy decision. If we look to populate our teams with 'playing' players and avoid hits, then what can we expect to gain - min. +22 pts?

and then need to fix the team afterwards... im really sceptical about the value of the BGW... players coming in must have a bit of longevity value... ie siggy lukaku coleman... Im going to bench my heavy hitters gw 26 and gw 28 is going to be a farce by the looks of it... the heavy hitters will have dgws coming up and are consistent

Yes there's a lot of sense in what you're saying - replace those you'd be willing to lose with those you'd be want to keep long term.

I think they're a good thing, providing your an active player and have your WC still.

You think they might be a good tool for catching up with opposition? Depending on what the oppo does of course. I suppose if you made back 10 points it'd be worth it. Just concerned about points lost in the meantime and immediate aftermath.

I reckon the rule is bench who you can bench and only bring in those you'd be willing to keep?

Just re-read your post - are you going to use your wc for 28 - to bring in/out players?

    Current team

    Heaton, Robinson
    Alonso, Mcauley, Jones, Pieters, A.Smith
    Sancez, Alli, Phillips, Lallana, Stanislas
    Ibra, Lukaku, Grabban

    itb 4.8, 1 FT
I am thinking of Stanislas to Eriksen. Is it worth a hit for Smith/Pieters to Coleman/Baines? Any recommendations about transer planning and starters?

      Looking very strong,

Always keeping an eye on the BGW, although I would now keep 2 x free transfers for that week and bring in Lukaku for Jesus, siggy for Hazard so should have 8 playing by then hopefully.
