Cursed with a reputation of failing to deliver to form and fixture, while some have tried to dispel the myth, Romelu Lukaku chose today to slay it once and for all.

The stage was dressed and set for the Belgian.

With the fixture list driving his recruitment, there was a degree of forced faith in Lukaku.

Two blanks on the road had created an air of caution, but Everton’s home form was strong enough to offer real hope.

Bournemouth, as today’s visitors, were offering the biggest reason for optimism. Incredibly, Eddie Howe’s side arrived at Goodison Park having shipped 20 goals in their last ten outings, conceding three in six of those matches.

The script was meticulously scribed and, for once, Lukaku read and stuck to it perfectly.

It took him just 30 seconds to expose the Cherries frailties, ominously curling home a confident opener to tease the destruction that was to follow.

Bournemouth’s second half rally merely drew the sting from Everton, with Lukaku ending the match in riotous form.

Acquired by over 75,000 prior to today’s deadline, Lukaku boasted an ownership of 1.1 million FPL managers.

However, only 22% of those owners chose to back him with the captaincy, perhaps distracted by the lure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Harry Kane, having previously been stung by the Everton striker.

However, announcing himself this season with a hat-trick on Wearside, Lukaku chose Bournemouth as his next major victims and bullied them with a similar display of pace, power and finishing.

His 21-points ranks second only to Alexis Sanchez’ fabled London Stadium haul – Lukaku’s return today is the top individual score by any FPL forward.

With the fixtures remaining kind and with Gameweeks 26 and 28 booked in, his ownership and price will likely rocket.

However, while we can lavish praise his way this evening, we should not forget the frustration he can cause.

Stalling badly from Gameweek 11, Lukaku appeared stuck in a rut and unable to drag Everton from their Autumnal malaise.

But something clicked thereafter – perhaps the new arrivals on Merseyside, perhaps Ronald Koeman’s new formation – but the smile returned, and the energy and hunger came with it.

Incredibly, he now leads the Golden Boot race. Involved in 51% of Everton’s goals, boasting an almost identical points per match tally as both Diego Costa and Ibrahimovic and second only to Jermain Defoe for points per million value, the case for Lukaku is compelling.

Was there ever any doubts? Of course, but at least for tonight, we will conveniently forget the past.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Right!

    I'm doing it.
Biting the bullet. Gonna play my wildcard

    WC Team
    Heaton, Jakupovic
    Alonso, Coleman, Ranocchia, Brunt, Toby,
    Snodgrass, Pedro, Sanchez, Cleverley, Sigurdsson,
    Lukaku, Jesus, Costa

    0.2 - ITB

Good to go (based on today?)
    Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to tell if I'll take a price drop from my selling price if I can't remember how much I paid.
Zlatan selling price is 11.4 and purchase price would be 11.7

    Phillips - Alli - Sanchez - Eriksen - Coutinho
    Lukaku - Ibra
    ________________________________
    Jakup: Barnes, Chambers, Muniesa

Thiay very well get a no, but was thinking over the next few weeks doing Coutinho, Barnes & Ibra > Kane, Costa & Carrol and going 3-4-3

Question is, i'd have to do iIbra> kane tonight to afford it. Any reason not to with United blanking and such? Or all three for -8 lol.

Would really appreciate any advice on this, cheers fellas 🙂

Right chaps. Have 2 FT and 0.2m ITB. Ideally want to use only 1FT and roll over the other

      Heaton
      Luiz - Jones - Baines
      Sanchez - Antonio - Lallana - Alli
      Costa - Lukaku - Ibra

      Nyom - Chambers - DeRoon

      A) Lallana > Siggy
      B) Jones > 5.1m
      C) Anything else

Gutted I captained kun over lukaku. Would love the points in the bag now. Can see 2 points coming my way.

      Best replacement for kun?
Have lukaku and ibra and Ali and Erickson in midfield

I need some serious help managing the blanks! I'm on

      -Cech,(Pickford)-
      - Coleman - Brunt - Cedric (Amat, Love)
      Hazard - Sanchez - Phillips - Stanislas - Eriksen
      - Aguero - Lukaku - (Anichebe) -

      0.9 ITB and 1FT

Im freaking out over the blanks as none of my subs are playing. Right now before GW 26 I want to take a -8 hit and do:
      Cech->Jaku
      Love->Baines
      Aguero->Rondon or Carroll
      Anichebe->Llornte

This will still leave my with 1 blank as Stanislas probably won't be playing...

      Any ideas?

Well, look at it this way: it gives him 4 expensive defs. Some benching head ache ahead.

          I still would.

Brunt is 5m, hardly that expensive.

Play 4 at the back when Brunt plays at home. Bench Brunt for his away games. Then blanks will arrive where Alonso would be benched. No brainer for me.

I've got Alonso-Coleman-Brunt-Jones. 4 at the back rotation working nicely.

          You tell me...
          Rest of my team is:
          Heaton Jaku
          Baines Brunt Chambers Coleman X
          Hazard Sanchez Alli Siggy Phillips
          Lukaku Ibra Barnes

A useless waste of space out for the best defender in the game? Complete no brainer.

So, you'll be benching Phillips and Barnes the most of the time and playing 4-4-2?

            Ok, seems fine to me.

Looks like a really expensive team. Either your team value is incredibly high or then I'm underestimating the effect of the cheapish attack three.

      Giroud > Lukaku (c)
      Rose > Coleman
      Daniels > Walker

75 with ibra and siggy to go, -8 though so overall 67
