A busy Sunday comes to its conclusion with a north London derby at White Hart Lane.

Harry Kane welcomes Arsenal in stunning form. Firing double-digit returns in each of his last three home starts, the Spurs striker is the fourth most-captained player for Gameweek 35.

With four fixtures in the final three Gameweeks, many will be scouting Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli this afternoon, though Son Heung-min may yet have a part to play in our wildcard plans after returning to the Tottenham teamsheet.

Kyle Walker’s 33% owners will be looking elsewhere, though, as the right-back drops to the bench for the third time in six matches.

With back-to-back Double Gameweeks 36 and 37 on the horizon, we need Alexis Sanchez back in form after a run of just one goal in the last five fixtures.

Yet with Olivier Giroud returning to the starting line-up, the Chilean looks likely to take up a central support berth as Arsene Wenger continues with a 3-4-2-1 formation.

At the back, the 4.8-priced Gabriel is handed a fifth straight start. Almost 8,000 FPL manages have acquired the Brazilian since yesterday’s deadline passed as a cheap route into the Gunners’ rearguard for the run-in.

Does anyone else think Davies is now more or less nailed?

Rose hasn't played in weeks. Davies has played in their 9 consecutive wins. Even if Rose is back in the next week or 2 I don't see Poch changing up his backline to accommodate a player like Rose with no match fitness

    1. WVA
      • 9 Years
      8 years, 7 months ago

Unfortunately as soon as Rose is fit he will be in the side imo

    2. Ibracadabra

If spurs draw or lose and Chelsea win and win title I can see Rose getting the second game in 37 and/or 38, but agree that Davies looks safe for 36 at least and has done well. Rose is training don't forget though don't think he made the bench yet today.

I think he deserves to be nailed. Feel sorry for the guy if he doesn't continue to start.

I think in reality we will see the sort of rotation that is happening with Walker/Trippier. Trippier is doing well so poch is rewarding him with games. Think that will happen with Davies so he may get one start in the double.

Absolutely gutted with that gw, 45 all out,
6 yellow cards including one for Kane(c),
Kompany in for -4 has cost me 12 points with Vertongen on the bench,
And Pedro > Hazard lost me another 5!

    DDG Pickford
    Kompany Valencia Vertongen Stephens Britos
    Sanchez Hazard Eriksen Sane Zaha
    Kane Benteke Rashford

Any advice? Benteke + Valencia > Jesus + Gabriel?

    Who's better for DGW37?

    A) Gabriel + Smith (w/ Stephens, Alonso and Holgate)
    or
    B) Gabriel + Yoshida (w/ same as above)
    or
    C) Yoshida + Gabriel (w/ same as above)

Worried about SOT bad fixtures and so many games together, which might introduce rotation

I keep meaning to downgrade Aguero for some much needed funds (2FT, Walcot and Rashford in my team, for which I cannot provide you with an explanation). But he's really bringing me some points, and will surely continue to do so. On the home straight and I feel like ditching him now is the one thing that could see me fall away at the last monent.

With Bailly and Stones and no wildcard, looking to take some hits to prepare for bb in 37.

Obvious choice is to bring Gabriel in for one of them (0.1 short of Monreal) for a -4. Maybe Blind next week for free.

    But am I better going for a -8 and transferring both out - Monreal + a 4.6?

Or even ignoring Arsenal and going with Huth for a -4?

    Thanks.

Looks pretty good but if you have JWP in there for 2+2 points Romeu is probably a more certain starter? If you then do Eriksen instead of Alli, you can probably get decent DGW def (Citeh?) for that cash? Not saying it will pay off of course

Romeu is a great shout, saves .6m as indeed JWP only for the 2+2...not sure which defender I would lose though, Smith the obvious but I really like there next two home games..

Ladies and gentlemen: A word on marching to the beat of your own drum sometimes and original thoughts...

GW34: Against "conventional" wisdom on this site, I proposed a TC of Benteke / De Gea in GW34, but was told it would be better saved for 36/37. I went against my gut/instinct and did not TC Benteke or De Gea in 34 (I did Captain Benteke); but I think their respective scores of 14 and 17 will be hard to beat by Sanchez, Jesus, Hazard, Costa or Kane in 36/37. 0-for-1

GW35: Against "conventional" wisdom, I decided to Bench Boost this gameweek (35). I had 4 players playing at home, including both Pickford and Chambers, both of which I assumed would be relegated by GW37. I also had Stephens with a tasty home fixture against Hull and Zaha with a tasty home fixture against Burnley.

I bench boosted and picked up 20 points- Stephens 8, Chambers 8, Pickford 3, Zaha 1. Ironically Zaha was fouled in box and looked lively for stretches in the second half but ended up with only 1 point when I assumed he'd be a big scorer. 1-for-2.

I can't complain with a BB of 20 points, that is an average of 5ppg per player.

Just a thought for those to stick to their gut/instinct! It's more fun that way...

Sometimes the conventional wisdom, and we have some wise owls here, is wrong...doesn't mean it's always wrong, but I agree it's better to have a strong conviction or feeling, then double check your gut check on here.

Agree- just an important reminder to have self belief, not a slight to community by any means.. consider myself a wise owl on here myself (finished Top 25 in world and have played ~ 13 years) but sometimes groups do move in herds and it's always more fulfilling when you make your own decisions - wrong or right...
