The ScoutCast – Episode 228 – Countdown

The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

    Over the next few weeks, I'm probably gonna to downgrade Danilo and Willian and play 3-4-3 but that could all change if something unexpected happens

      This is pretty much perfect mate. Considering ripping up my own team to make something similar. Not a fan of Danilo personally- Lots of City attackers floating about to take that wingback spot.

        Thanks. My main concern is Sane but city fans told me that Sane played terribly when used as a wing back. I personally don't mind taking a risk.

      Ritchie has a nice run of games from next week. WBA/Newcastle have decent fixtures with affordable defenders.

        Yeah Richie does, but so does Zaha. Pretty close call I think, just aware Zaha has higher ownership.

          This is the game! Zaha is too inconsistent for me. If you've got a nailed in starters (Kane, kdb, Cahill etc), and can risk someone who might not produce for a few weeks then do it. Ritchie is on everything though.

      Naw, it'll be taking a hit to downgrade a poor performing 5.0 or higher defender so they can upgrade their 4.0 who didn't play, to a 4.5 before the 4.0 potentially drops to 3.9

      People seem to think speroni might start,liverpool away 2nd gw so if you have a palace defender make sure you got someone who can rotate with them gw2

    Right. It comes down to this....I've been chewing over this one for a while

    A) I've been settled on for a week now. It's flexible, balanced & with a nod towards the premium defenders this year

    Begovic
    WALKER / Kolasinic / BERTRAND / 2x4
    Kdb / MANE / Ritchie / Fraser / Carroll
    Kane / Lukaku / Rodriguez

    B) I really want Alonso & a city defender & prefer Salah. Less flexible in the market though and Danilo will need shipping most likely.

      Both have no sub defender yet Walker in it who is a big rotation risk. Not a good idea imo.

          Although I have Francis stashed on my bench @ 4.5, I'm not liking BOU fixtures until GW 5. Forster would be preferred until then, IMHO. Stephens or Yoshida double up, or another 5.0? (i'm risking than Jones starts for MU)

    Are Danilo owner concerned about Sane?

    Even if Danilo starts he has every chance of being hauled off early for Sane. I think Sane has a good chance of featuring against a team like Brighton that may well just sit back.

    Jesus makes my whole team unbalanced but currently only have KDB has city cover

    Is PVA too expensive to rotate with Mee?

    Fancy him to do well at wing-back for Palace, but 5.5m seems a lot to bench. Better to change Mee to a 4.0 and always start PVA?
