League leaders Manchester City travel to the DW Stadium tonight, looking to put breathing space between themselves and their city rivals. The Dugout Discussion chatroom opens in anticipation of the conclusion of Gameweek 21.

Both team sheets have been handed in, and here is how they line-up on this horribly cold Monday night…

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Stam, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, McArthur, McCarthy, Gomez, Crusat, Rodallega, Moses.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Savic, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Barry, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Dzeko.

Roberto Martinez continues with Albert Crusat, who manages to shake off a slight back injury to start tonight. James McArthur begins for only the third time in the league this season, replacing Mohamed Diame who is unavailable thanks to the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester City are forced to partner Jolean Lescott and Stefan Savic at centre-back once more, despite a very ropey performance in their defeat to United last weekend. Elsewhere, David Silva is restored to the starting line-up, Sergio Aguero partners Edin Dzeko up front, and Pablo Zabaleta replaces Micah Richards.

Follow all the action in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

Keen to hold on to my wildcard, don't want to play it in a week where all the big teams are facing each other. There doesn't seem to be many strikers with 2 easy fixtures in gw's 23 and 23 .... Liverpool don't have a striker and Chelsea have Swansea away.........almost tempted to keep Ade for Wigan and maybe just get Helguson for Yak

I was tempted by Valencia & Graham, but now I'm thinking Fletcher & Walters. The best rotation of the latter would provide: WBA, LIV, SUN, WBA, SWA, NOR, BLA. In the meantime, both Swansea an Man Utd have pretty tough fixtures. F & W seem to be the sensible option, but it feels wrong going without Man Utd attacking coverage...

What would you say is the best option?

I was just looking at this myself. The only caveat is when I would've played Fletcher in games such as STK, NOR he returned 2 points each and his nice scores have come in games where I would've benched him. Rotation only works if the players deliver at the desired times.

Yeah I noticed that too - the positive I suppose is that 4/7 of the fixtures I'd go Walters. The possible alternative could be Walters / Graham:

WBA, CHE, SUN, NOR, SWA, NOR, and 1.3m saved...

This season is becoming a nightmare....
When a "big" team is expected to score big against a lower team, they dont
When they play each other they score big when you least expect it
    Sooooo many injuries without warning
    So much rotation
Other than Rooney and Aguero early for a few weeks amd RVP for 10 weeks nobody has scored very big scores and consistently

It is fun, but I just cant seem to get anywhere
I tried playing fixtures, didnt work, then tried form, and anyone i buy immediately loses it

WC this week looking good, but just know that it will fail!

Looking forward to the Euro Championship FF

Ade & Jones > Aguero & Kelly was my initial plan for next week

Probably going through with it, but not sure Aguero is the best two-week punt before my WC. I can't afford Rooney, and as I already own Sturridge, Torres isn't an option. Not really tempted by anything else to be honest.

Another option is to bench Ade and keep him for the Wigan game. In that case, I'm considering (ant-knee-jerk warning!) Dyer & Jones > Sessegnon & Senderos.

      Any advice is highly appreciated!

      Forced into WC this week.

I was planning on having Agruero is for good run of fixtures. However, his fixtures are TOT (H) EVE (A)
Is anyone considering Torres (seeng that he went back to school to learn how to finish this week) for the next 2 GW's? Is it nonsense to have both CHE strikers? Is it nonsense to have Torres?

      My WC is

      Mingolet/Ruddy
      Richards/ Raylor/Senderos/Naylor/Shotton
      Bale/Dempsey/Silva/Sess/Moses
      RVP/Sturridge/_____????

I can't believe i am even thinking of this in the first place. I once vowed never to have Torres in my team, now here i am actually thinking of it.....

      Thoughts????

Who knows, I think it is perfectly fine doubling up on Chelsea strikers at least for the Norwich game, but probably a bit too much with Swansea in there as well..

What is the budget for your third striker?

Do it now if you need it this week, but I think this is a bad week to wildcard so only do it if your team is really stumped. Like mine 🙂
