After another three-week break Fantasy Eliteserien finally returns. With 10 gameweeks left of the season things are getting serious. I’ll structure the article differently this time, focusing on latest transfers, injuries, suspensions and other notes.

TRANSFER NEWS

The transfer window in Norway closed before the last Gameweek, but a few key players have moved abroad and some clubs have signed players on free transfers.

Two key players have been sold. As expected, Fredrik Midtsjø moved to AZ Alkmaar before deadline. They bought Anders Trondsen as a replacement earlier in the window.

More surprisingly Ghayas Zahid moved abroad to APOEL. He will now get a chance to face Real Madrid, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. There is ome uncertainty in the Vålerenga midfield now as it’s not clear who’ll replace him.

Haris Hajradinovic has now been sold by Haugesund to Osijek in Croatia. Zahid and Hajradinovic’s departures deprive us two of the most exciting Double Gameweek 25 prospects, which is a shame.

A few clubs have also been signing players on free transfers. Viking have signed Ivorian striker Guessan Ghislain. He will probably get some gametime going forward.

Brann have signed a new keeper in Lars Cramer, due to Leciejewski’s injury woes and with  backup keeper Horwath injured for the rest of the season. Cramer won’t play though unless he really has to.

Tromsø are also very close to signing ex-Barcelona keeper Ruben Mino, but some paperwork trouble may delay the transfer.

INJURY NEWS

Rosenborg defenders Tore Reginiussen and Vegar Eggen Hedenstad are back from injuries and will most likely start this weekend. In form striker Matthias Vilhjalmsson picked up an injury in a friendly and is out for the rest of the season. Pål Andre Helland is still struggling with injuries and could need an operation.

Piotr Leciejewski is expected to be back for Brann this weekend. He’s been struggling with an injury, but he did play a week ago in a friendly against Haugesund. He wasn’t completely fit and struggled to kick the ball, but he’s getting better and likely to play. Vito Wormgoor picked up an injury in training and is a doubt for Brann’s game against Sogndal on Saturday. Brann’s lineup will be out before deadline, so keep an eye on that one. Daniel Braaten is still out with an injury, but according to the man himself he could be back for Gameweek 22.

Other injured players includes Bård Finne from Vålerenga, Martin Broberg from Odd and Jakub Serafin from Haugesund who picked up injuries during the break.

A player who was expected to be out for the rest of the season returned two weeks ago. In the cup quarterfinals Aleksander Melgalvis scored a beautiful free kick for Lillestrøm. He’s still out of position and is again a great option.

Marcus Pedersen is a doubt for Strømsgodset’s game against Rosenborg this weekend, after picking up an injury in training

SUSPENSIONS

The list of suspended players this week is very long. Haugesund will be without key player Fredrik Pallesen Knudsen in their defence. Strømsgodset will be without both their centre backs Jakob Glesnes and Kim Andre Madsen, so Jonathan Parr will most likely slot in at centre back.

Christian Landu Landu is suspended for Tromsø, which means Gjermund Åsen could be moved back to central midfield. Other suspended players includes Marco Tagbajumi, Andre Danielsen, Mikkel Kirkeskov, Victor Demba Bindia, Kristoffer Zachariassen, Sondre Sørli, Daniel Gretarson, Lasse Nilsen and Simen Wangberg.

OTHER NEWS

Tromsø – Odd was originally moved to 27st September, but has since been shifted to 21st September instead. It’s still not moved within the game, but I personally think this means the Double Gameweek will be in Gameweek 22 instead of Gameweek 23. This is good news  as both Odd and Tromsø have a home game in Gameweek 22 already.

Vålerenga are moving into their brand new stadium this Gameweek and it will be interesting to see how it affects them

Viking have been testing out a new formation with three at the back during the break. They do look more solid at , but are still struggling to score. It means Kristoffer Haugen and probably Claes Kronberg will start as wing backs. Haugen could be a particular strong option if Viking start keeping a few clean sheets, but for now it’s probably best to stay away.

I have probably missed out on some info. Please comment below if you have more news on injuries or other stuff.

Edwin Gyasi in trouble once again. Not allowed to train with the rest of the group because he's been breaking internal rules over and over again. Won't play this weekend.

    https://www.bt.no/100Sport/fotball/Gyasi-nektes-a-trene-med-AaFK--for-tredje-gang-i-ar-241659b.html

Eirik Hestad injured for Molde as well.

Really frustrated with the Marcus Pedersen injury. Was really tempted to go with him as a differential over Ohi. I'll probably stick with Ohi now.

Scratch the bit about Gjermund Åsen. The Tromsø coach have now confirmed 18 year old Mehdi Dioury will get a start at CM in the absence of Landu Landu. Aron Sigurdarson and Mikal Ingebrigtsen will start on the bench. Bakenga, Lehne Olsen and Åsen up front then.

This is great stuff Niemi, thanks!

I've held off until now with replacing Hajradanovic. Any suggested replacements?

I can go up to 9.2m. Looking at an Odd or Tromsø player perhaps? Is Rashani an option?

I'm looking at Rashani myself, but Odd barely score goals so you're probably better of with a SGW player. Could take a punt though.

I'm going with Åsen from Tromsø. He's a good player and in great form. They do have some competition for the front three spots now though, so wouldn't be surprised to see some rotation during the DGW. I'm taking the chance though.

It's really depressing how slow they are updating this game. I'm assuming it's GW22 now on my WC. I'll regret some of my picks if it's GW23 after all.

Hopefully we'll know before deadline tomorrow, but I doubt it.

Double game week potential transfers for me if it is week 22 now
Wild card for 22 and then transition out for 25 to get in some Valerenga and Haugesund players.
For DGW22 I think a maximum of 4 double game week players.
Hansen -> Rossbach who plays away at Tromso and Home to Aalesund in preference to Kongshavn. I all ready have Bratveit for 25 so he would have to go back to Hansen quickly.
In defence I will pick one one from Tromso or Odd Grogaard or Ruud could be OK or an Odd defender maybe Norbey.
I like my mid field but could loose Andersen or Brochmann for Asen and or Aron Sigurdarson. Aron may not get much match time but could get points over two matches off the bench.
I don't fancy any attacking players from either side at this stage so just
Rossbach, Ruud, Norbey and A Sigurdarson. It does not seem worth a wild card and i have a week to think about it.

Sounds like a decent idea. Sigurdarson would have been a great option if he was nailed, but he's not. I'm not touching him right now.

    Excellent, thanks. G2G here? 1FT, 0.1 ITB

    McDermott
    Rolantsson, Rosted, Reginiussen
    Andersen, Haugen, Adegbenro (V), Jevtovic
    Sigurdarson, Omoijuanfo, Mos (C)

    Dyngeland; Solberg, Sodlund, Gana Kane

Keep an eye on Rolantsson. Expect him to start, but not 100%. You'll know before deadline. Rosenborg wingers are a rotation risk, but more likely to start than not IMO.

Would play Solberg over Rosted honestly.

Team's not dreadful but there are players I'm leaning towards getting rid of (Koomson, Rolantsson, Mortensen, Lie, Stokke). Just think funds could be better allocated. Got one potential double GW player in Aron Sigurdarson who I've had from the start, but now his position looks in question. Don't know if it's worth chasing the DGW players now.

50/50 whether to wildcard. Didn't do anything to my team over the international break and somehow my team value went up to 101.8m so wouldn't feel too bad about not wildcarding earlier.

Rosenborg attack is the main thing I'm lacking, I think Bendtner and Adegbenro could be good for the season now.

        Start Hedenstad or Lundstrom?

Was on Lundstrom as SIF good at home (scored in every game), so Hedenstad return could be reliant on set pieces. But now wondering as Pedersen's out.

S08 get goals but away form not amazing & VIF don't concede that many at home. New stadium and loss of Zahid/Finne injury makes me question team vibe though.

You wrote: "S08 get goals but away form not amazing & VIF don't concede that many at home." S08 have scored three goals in last five away games. Their away form really is really far from amazing. 🙂

          I'd start Lundstrom.

Cheers, that's still where I'm at atm.

VIF don't concede many but still concede regularly.
Resting Hedenstad for Real Sociedad would make decision easier, but for info Ingebristen basically said they'll be playing best available team at SIF: http://www.rbkweb.no/vis/12873

I'm glad that I don't have to think that much. Now that I bought Melgalvis I have three OOPs and I play them every gameweek. I'm much happier when my defender scores a goal compared to him getting a clean sheet.

I don't know if it is points wise good strategy but there's so much more to be enjoyed about in this game that just points 🙂 Having expensive defenders losing their clean sheet points at 89th minute is absolutely the worst. I don't want none of that.

I bought him when I started playing this game at round 13. He got 15pts, then I benched him, 4 pts. Learned my lesson and played him every game after that, 6, 10 and 4 pts. Absolutely fabulous. Low price and he delivers. Best OOP I've ever had in any game.

Yeah, when I noticed that he's OOP I checked his points and stats and they were very promising. 6 and 15 pts he has delivered to me and that's just a bit disappointing. Without the 15pts...

The front three for Brann tonight is hard to guess. Vega will most likely start on the right, 50/50 between Orlov and Børven up front and Rolantsson, Skaanes and Marenga have all been drilled as left wingers. I think it's between the first two.

            Wormgoor most likely fit.

Doesn't make sense though. Bendtner have played 15 minutes of football over the break. The coach said they wasn't going to rest anyone earlier this week.

So I'm not sure what to believe.

Going to front a differential-game for this GW.... Sandefjord players in my opinion look absolutely vital for this round. Kastrati, Grossmüller, Seck, Storbaec.... Viking have too far to go to be back in it this gameweek I think, and these players have looked deadly.

I might be biased, but Viking have changed formation and now look more solid at the back. Still pretty toothless going forward.

Grossmüller is an interesting one though, if he's still on penalties.

Olsen Solberg is my pick this week.

I'm not going to post everything, but original plan was to double up with Odd and Tromsø at the back. Both Tromsø players now gone and I'm also going without Brann cover in defence.

I was also going with a midfielder from Tromsø and Odd, but now I'm only getting a Tromsø midfielder I think (although I'm not settled on the fourth midfielder).

Think I'm going with Rashani. Bench this GW, then play him for DGW and maybe for GW24. Sell him afterwards, hopefully for a Vålerenga midfielder.

Other alternatives are Kassi, Andersen and Jradi. Hestad was a bit tempting, but he's injured.
