Last week’s posse of bets may have failed to bring home the bacon, but with a fresh note clutched in our determined mitt, we look to pitch our Fantasy thinking against Paddy Power’s odds, in another Flutter.

After a spell of defeats in the run up to Christmas, Stoke have slipped up just once in nine games, and that was a “gimme” at the hands of league leaders City. Although a secreted towel and a long-throw still play a major part in Tony Pulis’ tactics, teams have found ways to counter these methods, forcing Stoke to – whisper it – find quality on the ground. Jon Walters has been at the heart of this, always willing to push up to support the lofty talents of Peter Crouch, his prowess from the spot have seen Walters simmer as a strong mid-price midfield option all season. In the Picks again this week, Paddy post 4/1 on Walters to score and Stoke to gain a cleansheet against visiting West Brom, and thus our weeks tenner is broken, with £2 laid down.

Having missed five games this season, Steven Fletcher has had to work hard to rack up his impressive 81 Fantasy Premier League tally. Fletcher undoubtedly offers exceptional value for FPL managers and punters alike, and Paddy go 100/30 for him to score and Wolves to win against rivals Villa this weekend. Given that Fletcher has proved deadly in the air this term, we prefer to take a punt on him to score with a header at 8/1 for a quid.

Stephane Sessegnon may well be the key to Martin O’Neil’s Sunderland revival. To be fair to Steve Bruce, Sessegnon was performing well enough before he was turfed out, but there’s something about O’Neill that’s squeezed an end product from the lively attacker, to accompany the pace and trickery. Subject to heavy transfer activity in recent weeks, Fantasy managers will expect Sessegnon to feature with either goal or assist as Swansea visit the Black Cats, even though the visitors have put together a strong run of form of late. A Sessegnon goal and assist double at 10/1 is worth a £2 stake.

Our final market revolves around the glitzy world of celebrity Twitterer Joey Barton. The QPR skipper is not quite the Punch and Judy villain that Mario Balotelli has become, but nonetheless, he’s a great entertainer with his antics and indiscretions on and off the pitch. Paddy are tempting us in here with a “will he, won’t he” bet. Barton to avoid a yellow card and get a goal against Wigan is at 5/1. Since he’s racked up 8 cards in 18 games, this would normally be too much of a risk, but new managers can often bring out the best in players and change any leopard’s spots. We may even see Adel Taarabt’s ego humbled with Mark Hughes’ arrival – then again. If you want to firmly back a QPR revival under Hughes, Paddy are offing 14/1 on Barton to score and Rangers to earn the win against the visiting Latics. That’s well worth a sniff and earns our final stake slice.

Money Back Special

Paddy fast forward to Sunday’s big encounters to offer us a pair of Money Back Specials. If four or more goals are scored in City’s clash with Spurs they are refunding all losing first /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on that match. They’re taking the same stance on the Arsenal vs United clash at the Emirates, so if Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie let loose, you could be line for a refund on your punt.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    My current team is:

    Vorm - Krul

    Enrique - Evans - Jones - Caulker - Walker

Nani - Bale - Silva - Ben Arfa - Ferguson

    RVP - Sturridge - Adebayor

with 2 transfers available for the week...

Is it worth WC'ing to this or should i just use the 2 transfers to tidy up?

    Vorm - Mignolet

    Enrique - Evans - Shawcross - Santon - Kelly

    Silva - Bale - Sess - Walters - Sess

with Ade out, Ferguson dead wood, Barfa unlikely to start... 2 ManU defenders that are very unlikely to get a CS... ditto Walker...

Found it pretty funny that he rose in price again today. Not often that a player rises after he's not even played a game the week before and even before that his form was patchy to say the least.

Had to get rid of him in my WC team. I didnt want the uncertainty factor.

No chance of Gerrard being rested for the Carling Cup is there? It's not until Wednesday and it's only the Carling Cup. Liverpool need 3 points today.

To playuppompey from page before - reason I don't like ageuro is that he plays 70 mins which I don't like straight up - Ive never had him and don't think I will.

Sturridge I think is a better option and much cheaper for similar output - although if he doesn't play today he's obviously fallen out Of favour.

That is true he doesn't always play the full 90 mins. I just think Aguero is likely to outscore Sturridge over short and long term (better form, more nailed on, capable of points haul against anyone).

There does seem quite a bit of uncertainty over Sturridge as nailed on starter now. Mulling over whether to do Sturridge ---> Zamora for this GW..

    Plz rate my GW22 team

    Gk - Vorm (Krul)
Def - Raylor, Enrique, Williams (Simpson, BAE)
Mid - Gomez, Bale, Nani, Mata, Ireland
    Fwd - RVP, Torres (Yakubu)

Surely gonna get rid of Yak next GW...

Morning all. Need to get rid of Yakubu this week. Who do you guys think I should get out of:

    a) Morison
    b) Fletcher
    c) Crouch
    D) Bobby Z

Leaning towards Crouch, but the main choice seems to be Fletcher. Thoughts?

hey guys just wanted a quick thought on my lineup. all responses greatly appreciated. I am playing my wildcard next week so i just want to get past this week with alot of top teams playing eachother.

    Vorm

    BAE. Naylor. Simpson. Brown. (JEvans)

    Bale. Walters. Dyer. Nani (Ferguson)

    RVP. Rooney. Aguero

I chose BAE over JEvans bc i think both teams are gonna get scored on and BAE has more chance for assists/goals

And this right here is Exhibit 1A of why you don't put Fergie in your team.

In any other situation, BAE would be on your bench for the pounding Spurs defence is going to cop from City, but now you've basically got no other option than to play him.

Easily enough to fix with the WC though I guess 🙂

    Huth – Senderos – Simpson – Enrique – ?Skrtel?
    Silva – Bale – Sessegnon – Walters – ?Dyer?
    RvP – Sturridge – Fletcher

1: Is it a good idea to keep & play Fletcher? Hope for a goal and 0.1m price rise?

    2. Please consider the options for last spot of MF/DF
A: Dyer > Dempsey + Keep & Play Skrtel .. hope for Liverpool CS and price rise
    B: Dyer > Dempsey + Skrtel > Richards
    C: Dyer > Valencia + Skrtel > Kompany/Richards

Tough one, but leaning towards B.

Dyer to Dempo is a major upgrade (past 2 weeks aside), and I know as an Enrique owner that after the next couple he becomes a bit of an alternating play/bench guy, whereas until now he's been almost an every week play... same applies to Skrtel.

Perhaps Richards/Kompany offer better CS potential with their easier fixtures? I'd say if you don't mind benching an expensive defender when need be, Skrtel's as good an option as any.

Was in a similar situation with the whole Ade/Moses thing. I opted to WC and brought in Aguero. I'm absolutely sure one of us made the correct decision. 🙂

      Best of luck to you.

Should I play Dyer in the midfield or Naylor in defense against Sunderland(A)

Probably Dyer given his recent form and think Sunderland are likely to score.
