It’s now time for our weekly Sky Sports Focus article, where we look back at last weekend’s action, before preparing you for the incoming Gameweek.

We’ll examine the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries, transfer trends and Watchlist, before moving on to the Scout team and our future plans.

Gameweek 10 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters and earned an extra five points as a result.

FixtureMoTM
Liverpool vs Man UnitedJoe Gomez
Man City vs StokeKevin De Bruyne
Burnley vs West HamSteven Defour
Spurs vs BournemouthAsmir Begovic
Swansea vs HuddersfieldTammy Abraham
Crystal Palace vs ChelseaWilfried Zaha
Watford vs ArsenalTom Cleverley
Brighton vs EvertonAnthony Knockaert
Southampton vs NewcastleManolo Gabbiadini
Leicester vs West BromMarc Albrighton

Kevin De Bruyne picked up his third award of the season and second in as many matches. The Belgian is in the form of his life right now and, despite playing in a deeper role, could still be worth the outlay at 11.5m.

The budget-friendly Tammy Abraham (8.6m) earned his second award and continues to look great value in Swansea City’s home matches.

Sky Sports favourite Wilfried Zaha returned from his early-season injury to lead the line for Crystal Palace against Chelsea and promptly delivered a goal and MoTM award. At 9.3m, he once again looks a tempting option ahead of an extended run of favourable fixtures for Palace, particularly if he remains in the central striker role.

Gameweek 10 Bonus Points

Let’s take a look at any player to earn 11 points or more in bonus for the season

members

Four Man City players make the top six positions, with Fernandinho now the game’s overall bonus leader.

Here I aim to highlight a few differential players with low ownership who I think could be good options for the coming six weeks.

Notes

And so concludes possibly my worst ever Gameweek in Sky Sports.

Only Harry Kane netted more than two points after obtaining shots on target bonus. That was made all the more painful by Eden Hazard, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah all scoring a hatful of points in Europe midweek.

Last week I said It was a risk going without Man City players and ultimately that’s what punished me. I’m now scratching my head and wondering how I can fit one of them in.

David Silva or Raheem Sterling are my preferred options due to their cheaper price points in comparison to De Bruyne and the City forwards. But I don’t want to lose any of my aforementioned midfielders or either of the highest-owned players in the game, in Kane and Romelu Lukaku.

That leaves me with Jamie Vardy, who only just came in on Monday and is required for captain cover over the next few weeks. For now, then, I’m going to have to rely on Burnley to stifle the City attack. Terrifying.

Captain Plan
Fri 20th – Suttner (whm)
Sat 21st – Lukaku (hud)
Sun 22nd – Kane (LIV)

The Mbemba fun looks to be over.

I have £0.5 ITB so looking to move Chancel out for a £4.5m option. Already own Ward from Burnley so the likes of Mee, Tarkowski & Lowton are off the table - is Fernandez the next best option at £4.5m? Swansea have looked quite solid.

I’ve looked at the Liverpool fullbacks but I’m put off by the inevitable rotation there. TAA/Gomez, Moreno/Robertson.

          (Sad TAA owner here) 🙁

He’ll come back in at some point. Gomez and him are both young and will be rotated, especially as the fixture list becomes more congested.

Certainly sounds like Aguero will start:

"Pep Guardiola on Sergio Aguero's fitness: "For the game against Stoke he had just one training session. He was fit before Napoli and is ready for tomorrow. ""

I'm a Jesus owner and Captainer - but I have enough to do Jesus > Aguero with my FT.

Arghh - what to do? Will Aguero be so fit and raring to go that he hauls and plays whole match and what does that mean for Jesus?

definitely do not sell Jesus. He could very well start or get even 30 mins that he does something in. chances are you will be fine. nothing to suggest Aguero will walk back in, they've been immense without him.

Wasn't Guardiola saying he was ready to face Stoke? And the CL game? Seems like a huge bluff... sure he will figure vs Burnley but I don't buy the sentimental angle from Mark where Pep wants to see him get the record at home... I'm sure like the owners, he doesn't give a flying, he wants a key player fit for bigger games.

when do players who've spent multiple games out go straight back in rather than from the subs bench? Never. And this is Burnley we're talking about.. I'd understand if it was the CL final but it's a game they could probably bring in one of the ballboys for and still score. The risk reward makes no sense. The rationale I saw on these pages in previous games was "he's fit, that's why he's on the bench". Guardiola declared him fit in the previous games too but didn't play him despite Jesus playing two sets of 90 mins for Brazil and traveling back. Bottom line is, like Mourinho, I'm not sure I trust what Guardiola says.

If he doesn't play now, he won't play in the EFL trophy so, it'll then be 4 weeks without a game. Guaranteed fact he will play.

Where's the logic of never playing him?

Really want a 3rd attacking City player now...but it would mean losing Lukaku and Ritchie, both with good games, for Morata and Sterling (-4), both with better games...

    Elliot
    Jones, Davies, Cedric
    Silva, Salah, Ritchie, Carroll
    Jesus, Kane, Lukaku

    (Foster, Hegazi, Mariappa, RLC)

Should I just stick...? Fancy Morata and Sterling to outscore Lukaku and Ritchie and may even captain Sterling!

    Cheers
