After Eden Hazard failed to deliver in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Huddersfield, eight of the top ten captains in Fantasy Premier League are set to feature over this evening’s seven matches.

All eyes are on Harry Kane as Spurs welcome Brighton to Wembley Stadium – after a weekend home brace against Stoke, he’s the top armband pick for Gameweek 17, with 25.2% of managers handing him the captaincy – his biggest majority of the season so far.

Mohamed Salah is second only to Kane, with 17.8% backing after serving up seven sets of double-digits. Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are also back on the Liverpool team-sheet, though, after featuring as subs against Everton.

The latter was second only to Kane for transfers in ahead of Tuesday’s deadline – over 197,000 acquired Firmino in the rush to replaced the stricken Alvaro Morata.

Romelu Lukaku, Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez will be hoping that history repeats itself this evening.

Lukaku is toiling for form right now, with a single goal in nine Gameweeks, but scored four at home to tonight’s visitors Bournemouth while at Everton last season.

Aguero, meanwhile, netted twice in Man City’s win at Swansea in 2016/17 – he returns to Pep Guardiola’s XI as Gabriel Jesus takes up bench-warming duties.

Sanchez heads to West Ham, where he ran riot on his way to three goals and an assist in the previous campaign.

Elsewhere, Charlie Austin and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were both subject to significant transfers in ahead of Gameweek 17, with 156,00+ and 172,000+ new owners respectively.

Both have the fixtures to strengthen their claims as budget third strikers.

Austin – with four goals in three starts – hosts a Leicester defence with one away shutout to their name.

Ranked top for points per million, Calvert-Lewin has a goal and three assists in the last four Gameweeks and visits a Newcastle defence that’s conceded an average of three goals per game over their previous five league fixtures.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Not that much of a mess to be fair, personally i feel Salah is enough Liverpool attack.
Coutinho > Sterling would be a nice start imo.
Next week downgrade Alonso > (P.Jones) or Somebody who allows Laca > Kane for the week after.

Sterling is still the best city option, why this hype over Silva's two fluky goals?

    1. F4L
      • 11 Years
      8 years, 1 month ago

is this the same fluky Silva who just passed 100 points for the season?

      1. Abusive_Sgt_Daelrhos
        • 11 Years
        8 years, 1 month ago

You need to read properly first. I never wrote he was fluky, I said his last two goals were. And I don't think he's bad option, Sterling is just better given the price and the fact that you shouldn't be spending alot money in city's mids and fwds cuz points are split over too many players.

        1. F4L
          • 11 Years
          8 years, 1 month ago

the goals weren't fluky imo, tbh he should have bagged a hat trick. However, I do agree with you that Sterling is the better option going forward.

Why shouldn't you spend a lot of money on city mids? I've got both silva & Sterling... they are both in top 5 midfielders.. and will be at the end of the season! City will win the title. Points will come from both.

          1. Abusive_Sgt_Daelrhos
            • 11 Years
            8 years, 1 month ago

They might but there will be periods when there are going to be better options. City won't score as many goals as they have in the first half of the season, Pep won't risk the title over destrotimg opponents. I meant it like that, ofc City is a really strong side but you have seen what happened few weeks before, they barelly won two or three easy games just because Sterling individually responded properly. Those games will repeat surely and they will lose some. I hope this makes sense at least a tiny bit:D

the same Spurs that wont have a DM on the pitch against City man marking Silva or KDB, and are missing their best CB. And also at a guess that Poch will naively start Davies and Tripps, who don't have the pace to keep up with Sane and Sterling

    Rich,hazard,sterling,Salah,Surman
    Kane,Morata,DCL

    A) Have Morata & hazard , should I get rid of Morata to get Pogba(when he's back) & upgrade defence

    B) get de gea for Courtois as DDG racking up points

    C) just get mbemba -> masuaku/Kenny & have a playing 11

    Thanks .

Team in turmoil... Four consecutive gameweeks of much below-average scores.
I have four injured players, 2 non starters and no City cover, thanks to David Silva to Hazard move which i regret the most.

Can anyone help with this? Got 1 FT, 0.5 ITB

    DDG, Elliot**
    Azpi, Mee*, Duffy, Francis, Kenny
    Hazard, Salah, Ramsey*, Richo*, Rlc
    Kane, Morata*, Niasse**

I definitely need to take hits but have no idea who to remove and who to hold

Morata should play, as should one of Mee or Richarlison, so wait for news and don't make moves until the deadline...

Don't worry about Elliot or Niasse they can stay on bench for now. The side isn't that bad if you get the (c) right with Hazard vs SOU for example and Morata/Azpi play, as SOU just conceded 4, you could be in good shape...

I would think Ramsey's hamstring won't heal quickly and since he costs so much you could replace him with a Mahrez or City mid, etc. while monitoring the injury situations of the others. A West Ham defender for Mee could be an option OR if S. Ward is out long term for Burnley than C. Taylor the backup LB is only 4.2m.

Be patient and wait for injury news and the right move will become clear. Good luck.

Thanks mate. Even I feel Ramsey has to be replaced but i need to downgrade somewhere to upgrade him.
Rest of the things, I agree with you. Would sit back and just hope

Yes but Ogbonna is 0.1m cheaper and collects bonus more.

Thanks, but would Ogbonna be a risk once Collins is back?

Don't think so, maybe when Jose Fonte is back, but Ogbonna looks the real deal.

I don't think Moyes would want to change a defense that has performed so well though

I think we are having many knocked out of the Cup by some average teams.

    Your story?

The team who beat me had 3 non-players on the park (no backups) & Rashford (1pt) as capt with Okazaki's 16, & de Gea's 11pts dragging him over the line.

    Have to laugh.

Rival not made a transfer since GW 2

Ranked 7k overall and got dumped out of the Cup 49 - 56 by a ghost team ranked 1.5m. They had Danilo, Ogbonna, KDB and Lukaku captain!

A lot of GW1 players did well this week (Yoshida, Willian, Lukaku, KDB, De Gea, Rooney, etc) which is probably why a lot of us lost to dead teams 🙁

Won just by a margin of 3 points , his team was better(as I had 2 non players) still somehow got 31-28 victory

Aguero finds his form again I think, some beautiful dribbles last night (which we've not seen from him in last 3-4 GW).

When your defense for next GW looks too good to feel comfortable benching any of them:

Kola, Maguire, Mee, Dunk, Christensen 😮

Suggestions on which two to bench?

Dunk is one of them. Second, i think Maguire because CPL can score. But so can Southampton against Chelsea

Plenty of interesting captain choices this week. Think I'll go for Salah as I think Liverpool will bounce back and open up Bournemouth.

Who are you picking as captain this week and why?
