Wisdom of the Crowd – Gameweek 29

Each week we are reviewing the aggregated predictions on Superbru’s Premier League Predictor game, using the collective Wisdom of the Crowd predictions to guide our fantasy football thinking.

Please join the FFS league here and add your own predictions to the data – the more there are, the more accurate the crowd should be (in theory).

And don’t forget there is £20,000 on offer every week if you get a full house of predictions.

GAMEWEEK 28 REVIEW

Leicester’s draw at home to Stoke was the biggest surprise of Gameweek 28, with Watford’s win over Everton and Brighton thrashing Swansea also unexpected by most.

Here are the Gameweek 28 results in descending order of predictability:

Jonathan Liberman from Sweden won the Yellow Cap in the Fantasy Football Scout league, largely thanks to picking the Leicester, Bournemouth and Burnley draws.

It was another great week for Mr Crowd Wisdom – using the aggregated predictions of the crowd – who climbed another 8 places up to 11th in the FFS pool, out of over 460 people.

The aggregated predictions of the community are making better predictions than most individual players in the game, suggesting that there is credibility in the Wisdom of the Crowd concept.

The crowd’s average picks have now taken the Crowd Wisdom user into the top 3% on the global leaderboard.

GAMEWEEK 29 PREVIEW

Here is the Expected Goals chart for each fixture in Gameweek 29:

And here is the ranking of teams in order of Expected Goals Scored and Conceded:

Liverpool and Tottenham lead the way for predicted goals this weekend, with the London side also expected to keep a clean sheet at home to Huddersfield.

This looks to be another strong week on paper for the two FFScout captaincy poll leaders, Reds winger Mohamed Salah and Spurs talisman Harry Kane.

Manchester City made light work of Arsenal last night, and could well outscore the predictions here when Chelsea drop by.

Here are the aggregated predictions that we’ll enter for Mr Crowd Wisdom this week.

Is there anything that catches your eye in these predictions?

Good luck!

Thanks for this - hope the crowd are right about Liverpool and Spurs....and wrong about Brighton 🙂

I can see Brighton coming away with at least a point. Arsenal have been dire away from the Emirates, in 2018 at least.

They have been dire away from home throughout the season. Just 3 away wins in the league so far.

Yeah pretty much. The defence has been awful, only 3 away clean sheets...and now I look at it, they haven't scored very well on the road either.

    Should I take a -4 this week to to Mili/Vardy for Arnautovic/Niasse?

    G: Foster, Adrian
D: VVD, Ward, Dunk, Kenny, Ogbanna
M: Sterling, Salah, Son, Lingard, Milivojevic
    F: Kane, Firmino, Vardy

I would let your transfer roll. Vardy against a suspect Bournemouth defence, no point in taking him out.

I hope to god that we don't draw with Stoke. Useless result for both teams!

      Hi Tom

Do you think the game will go ahead against Stoke. I know the libraries are closed in Southampton as is our work office?

        It's pretty bad down here.

I think stadium will be fine, it's just transport that could still be badly affected. Comes down to H&S really. Gut feel is that it will take place, but low attendance (like Arsenal last night).

Update 5pm will probably confirm one way or another.

Who will score better over next 2 GW's (do we think)?

KDB (or Spurs midfielder) + bench fodder

    or

    Koscielny and Ramsey?

Arsenal obviously have better fixtures, but terrible form..

Based on current form, KDB (or Spurs midfielder) + bench fodder. Arsenal have been shocking atm, so I want to see them hit some better form before bring any of their players in and thats I'm waiting to after GW31 .
