The biggest Gameweek of the season kicks off on a barmy Friday night on the south coast as Brighton host second-placed Manchester United.

Fantasy managers will be focused on the away side, despite the absence of their most popular asset, striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian misses out through injury as Jose Mourinho hands starting roles to Marcus Rashford and Antony Martial in his front three. Juan Mata also comes into a much-changed line-up as Alexis Sanchez is omitted from the squad.

Significantly, Paul Pogba is named on the teamsheet once again. United’s form player, the Frenchman has three goals and an assist from his last four starts and goes into tonight’s match as the fourth most signed play having been snapped up by 140,000+ managers ahead of the deadline.

Elsewhere for United, Chris Smalling could be a key figure against a Brighton defence that has proved vulnerable at set-plays. The Seagulls have conceded 20 goals, including 14 from corners – more than any other side. Smalling has three goals in his last seven starts and top scored in the previous Double Gameweek with 15 points.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So just have him sit and break up any counter, fast enough to do that.

Baffles me time and again watching guys like Pogba or Mata giving up freekicks for Rashford's awful Ronaldo styled crap.

            With you there.

But once again it'll be all the players' fault. A few under performances in a season, that can be on a couple of individuals. Frequently struggling with 5/6 of the team not looking up for it, that's a managerial/coaching issue.

Decisions like letting Rashford anywhere near set pieces is a managerial/coaching issue.

Having players static beside the defenders so there's absolutely no runs/attacking outlet is a managerial/coaching issue.

Letting Fellaini, who is trying to hold the club to ransom, start and accommodating his purely rubbish play is on Mourinho.

Same old grind out a result crap he wants played against lower league sides.

He won't get hooked at the half. Was a very poor decision not to square to Martial but still the most dangerous outlet they have. Lingard should be on in the second half for those owners who kept him. Bore 1-1 coming perhaps.

Fantasy wise, sure. But don't really buy this narrative. Over 38 games they will have finished higher than Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea, all of which (CHE to a lesser extent) play a more attractive style of football. Mourinho has them in 2nd place and a FA Cup final with his only (big) misstep a CL loss to Sevilla. Not a United fan, but the criticism is silly - sports are about results.
