Set-piece and penalty takers for final World Cup Fantasy matches

We are left with the same four teams for the final round of World Cup Fantasy matches, with two more fixtures making up Gameround 7.

That includes the third/fourth place play-off that Belgium and England will play in on Saturday.

So, for one last time, we’ve collated all the relevant set-piece data so Fantasy Football Scout members can work out which nations are the best to focus on for their transfers.

It still looks like England are the most likely to score from set-piece situations despite their exit from the tournament, while Croatia remain susceptible to balls into the box.

Our research includes the penalty and corner-takers for each country, based on who has taken them either in Russia or, in some cases, in qualification. If there is no number next to a player’s name it’s because they took at least one in qualifying and/or warm-up games but are yet to take one at the World Cup itself.

We’ve also calculated which teams concede the most fouls and attempts from set-plays too to help you work out which nations are the most likely to get set-pieces in the first place.

To clarify, the ‘Attempts from set plays’ section combines those who have shot from direct free-kicks or those who have latched onto the end of a corner.

The deadline for Gameround 7 is at 15:00 BST on Sarturday July 14, so make sure you sort your team in time.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

We’ve secured Opta data, not only for the tournament itself, but also from the Qualifying Rounds for Europe and South America and for international friendlies involving the participating nations. This includes all the matches played right up to the tournament kick-off.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

One by one they're all being replaced by incoming defenders. That's why they're 4m!

Not really...we are hoping for Bennett, Pelter, or my favourite Bin-Wassaka.
Pre-season required before we know anymore.

Which pairing would you prefer to fill the gaps or is 'C' the better option? Thanks.

    Rui Patricio / Foster
Robertson / Van Aanholt / Ward / Cedric / Peltier
    Salah / xxxx / xxxx / Hughes / Cairney
    Firmino / Aguero / Zaha

    A - Mahrez & Jota?
    B - Sanchez & Costa?
C - Just go Sane and downgrade Ward > Daniels?

Someone explain the Kenedy love please?
He played what 14/15 games for Newcastle last year, and scored twice against Southampton (I think)...other than that just a 2/3pt player?

Genuine question by the way, looking for serious replies

He was quite exciting, and 5m is a good price. It's the killer opening fixtures that put me off.

It's just people getting over excited. He won't be in any teams next week, let alone GW1

Haven't checked the stats, but he was on set-pieces and was pivotal to Newcastle's improvement in the second half of the season. Hit the post a number of times too, I seem to remember. Certainly passed the eye test.

And is technically the second cheapest midfielder in the game.

Technically the second cheapest midfielder on points/price?

Not many 5m mids will get you 7 or 8 goals and a few assists, he looks good enough for that. If he's 5.5m get Hoilett.

Sound. Same as last season I think. I'd rather get a 4.5m fodder and use the funds elsewhere at this time but worth watching.

    Would you change anything?

    Ederson / Speroni
    Alonso / Coleman / Robertson / Cedric / Wan - Bissaka
    Salah / D Silva / Deulofeu / Cairney / Stephens
    Aguero / Firmino / Tosun

    B- TAA + Fraser

    Rip it apart please;

    Pickford Stekelenburg
    Mendy Roberton Cedric Tomkins Peltier
    Salah Silva Milivojevic Deulofeu Wilshere
    Aguero Firmino Tosun

Fairly template. Mendy and Robertson to start every week, same with the first three in midfield; Mili because of fixtures in a team that win plenty of pens - 10 goals for him last season. If Zaha leaves I'll reassess Mili. The 2 mids rotate okay.
