No Sanchez for United as Lukaku makes first start

Brighton and Hove Albion entertain Manchester United in the late-afternoon match, with Alexis Sanchez‘s (£10.5m) omission from Jose Mourinho’s match-day squad the headline news.

The United boss confirmed the Chilean midfielder, the ninth-most captained player of Gameweek 2, misses the trip to Brighton through injury.

Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) gets his first league start of the season, as do Ashley Young (£6.0m) and Anthony Martial (£7.4m). Matteo Darmian (£5.0m) and Marcus Rashford (£7.0m) make way.

Paul Pogba (£8.1m), the fifth-most bought player of Gameweek 2, captains United once more.

The Seagulls’ only two changes from the side that lost to Watford are in the full-back department: Bernardo and the injured Bruno being replaced by Gaetan Bong and debutant Martin Montoya (all £4.5m).

That Dale Stephens (£4.5m) is the most-owned Brighton player in FPL, sitting in 10% of squads, says much about the Fantasy community’s faith in the Seagulls this afternoon. Stephens is also the fifth-most benched player of Gameweek 2: over 84% of his owners have opted against playing the budget midfielder.

    Well i just ditched Aub, Luiz and baily for Mendy, Alonso and Arnie... 4 point hit.

    Thoughts? Little worried about Aub coming to light now his fixtures have changed. But happy with attacking defensive upgrade.

        I guess if nothing else i swap back later in a couple of weeks when mendy and alonso have gone up in price a bit... wasnt overly happy with the the thumping man utd got though so went for a swap. Fingers crossed!

      i just brought auba in and am happy to have him for the upcoming fixtures. i can see your rationale, as i also brought in alonso this week and already had mendy.

      i assume you have salah in your squad, thus why you're so strapped for cash. i myself have mane instead of salah, which is why i can still afford auba, aguero, robbo, mendy and alonso.

      it could all end in tears for me tomorrow with mane instead of salah, but i think that, in your situation, downgrading salah to mane to find the budget for those defensive upgrades while also keeping auba for the upcoming fixtures might have been a better option. unless you have mkhi in there somewhere for arsenal cover, then ignore me!

        Yeah i know what your saying, i had the same problem when building my initial team, however I also have mane and aguero.. the only way i could see me freeing cash as you say was to downgrade aub, i have 2.5m in the bank now to upgrade to maybe laca but for now felt it the right (only) move i could do... plus i had two free xfers and didnt want to waste one going in to next week. Fingers crossed!

    why is Alonso suddenly essential on here?

    we knew (or at least it was clear to see) he would have similar attacking threat all pre-season so if you wanted him why didn't you start with him ?

      The thought was that moving from a 5 at the back to a 4 would hurt his attckinh play.

      Auba to Firmino or even Zaha, gives you Mkhi + further midfield upgrade potential. Arsenals fixtures are good though.
