FPL Breakfast Club – Episode 4 – Wildcarding

The FPL Breakfast Club returns this morning as we prepare for Gameweek  6.

You can watch the show below or on our YouTube channel from 11:15 am.

Joe will be discussing his Wildcard and no doubt still tinkering as we’re on air, while Az explains why he will remain Eden Hazard-less for this weekend at least.

I’ll (Neale) be joining Joe and Az in David’s absence and fretting on whether shipping Benjamin Mendy out is a wise decision.

There will also be some build-up to the lunch-time clash between Fulham and Watford at Craven Cottage.

The team news will emerge at 11:30 am and we’ll take you through the line-ups of both teams as they arrive.

    Omg.

They re-applied a new red flag to Mendy “foot injury”. It halved his % on FPL stats to -29.3% from a pre deadline -64%. So presume when a player is red flagged they get a 50% “buff”. Happened yesterday when Mendys flag was first changed to red, went from -97 to -50 on the next update.

So yes, he won’t drop tonight. I was wrong, there you go.

        No chance now. Tonight anyway.

Maybe before deadline, but to lose 50% like that is insane. They are really protecting him, if it was intentional.

Nothing to do with "a new red flag", FPLstats homepage: "In addition a percentage of the carryover transfers will be lost at the gameweek changeover for those players who have changed in value in the previous gameweek."

So it’s just coincidental that his red flag changed at the same time?

Fair enough about what you say; not that I understand the logic.

I don't follow either. 😀 I don't think his red flag changed at the deadline? When it changed to red yesterday he of course requires more transfers out. After deadline passes FPLstat "correct" numbers every week, so a player that has gone up/down in the previous week always loses some of their "target percentage". A player at 120% to rise might go down to 70% after that.

Preamble was great but I assume it took a while to write and this breakfast club is a decent replacement

Yes, Mark’s article was a highlight of the week. It was good to have such a personal perspective - to share the joy and the pain. Mark writes well. It’s quite a miss, as is Mark’s presence on the Scoutcast. Such a shame. But the Breakfast Club is a good innovation which I am enjoying.
