FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

A technical issue means that we have had to postpone the latest rounds of both FFS Cup competitions.

Gameweek 17 will no longer be factored into either tournament, with them resuming in Gameweek 18.

Public FFS Cup

Unfortunately, the public FFS Cup has been plagued with technical problems this week and we were unable to publish the full fixture list for the fourth round in time for the Gameweek 17 deadline.

Our very own Mark is the only former winner left in the public Cup after Gameweek 16.

He progressed with a crushing 75-35 over Alisson Wonderland, while the other two surviving ex-champions were knocked out.

donnellyc lost out 65-56 to Tibbles, while it was a close-run thing for Ninja_Fit_Saints. Both he and opponent DonGamblor finished the week on 37 points after taking eight-point hits. With the scores level, the tie was settled on goals-scored with Don Gamblor boasting two (Doherty and Anderson to Ninja_Fit_Saints’ one (Anderson).

FFS Members Cup

rrcmc is now the only former winner left in the FFS Members Cup this season after Fuzzy Dunlop was elminated in the second round.

The 1,611th-placed AC knocked out the ex-champion by a scoreline of 78-67, while rrcmc‘s 53 points was enough to beat the 32 of QuickAsAFash.

There was more success for those high-ranking managers still left in the competition.

Sir Oux, ranked fourth in the world after Gameweek 16, thrashed Giggs-Tosun Particle 83-47, while the 31st-placed RDR2 was the 89-39 victor over Lal Toofan.

Meanwhile, 10th-placed Ulrik Steinschweiger‘s huge score of 91 made for a 31 margin of victory over SARRI, NOT SARRI and Jedi Reed, ranked 83rd, beat BeingTitus 78-65.

Does anyone have a list of total rest days between games for each team over the next 4 GWs? Checked Crellin's spreadsheet but he doesn't have it.

Only reposting because there is a new post.

Kane has been a frustrating player to own for me and even more as a captain. He even threatened to end David's perfect captaincy record. I saw a HT here a few days back showing how well Auba and Kane rotate kindly for captaincy from now till end of season. I find this odd and even suicidal given how inconsistent and frustrating captaining Kane has been all season especially at home and given how well Sane and Sterling have been even with reduced minutes and rotation. Yesterday should be a reminder that Kane is not dependable (All Spurs assets for that matter given the stubbornness and arrogance of Poch in his rotation,he has ridden his luck so many times this season). I brought him in thinking he is the safest captain over festive fixtures but as yesterday has shown again, Sane, Sterling as still better captains even with much less minutes. Now I will probably ship out Kane before next GW. As Jonty has said many times, switching between Kun and Salah for captaincy has done great for him this season. Makes sense since they are the best two attacking units in the league. Over the festive period, City and Liverpool have the kindest schedule out of top teams. in terms of days of rest between matches. Spurs and Arsenal have the worst. The face each other in midweek game which may see strong lineups on both sides. So here is my plan for captaincy.

GW 18: Sterling or Sane home to Palace. Whoever has fewer minutes in midweek cup game. I think Pep won't start his best team midweek. Last year he did because the league was basically done and dusted by this point. This year, City are still behind Liverpool and the competition is fierce.

GW 19: Salah or Mane home to Newcastle. The wolves game in GW 18 is 5 days prior to that so no need for rotation.

    GW20: Sane, Sterling or Hazard

    GW 21: Hazard or Auba

Personally I don't see myself needing to captain Kane any time soon. Just have a good bench and a good VC and you are good to go.

Mane is terribly out of form and Salah was ridiculed before he scored that hattrick. Liverpool as a team haven't been going all guns firing on the attacking front like last season.

Against Bournemouth, Salah scored 3 from his 3 shots on target and Liverpool 4 from their 4 shots on target. Do you expect that trend to continue?

He is hitting form. He also scored in CL. I don't care if he doesn't score double digits but its still way better than Kane's 5s and 2s. Personally I still don't know if I will be able to fit Salah in but I plan to have Sane,Sterlng,Hazard and maybe Auba as my captains over festive fixtures. I might give Kane the next game as a last chance and he needs to deliver big in order to consider keeping. My priority is shipping out Alli and maybe Laca if he disappoints today.

This. Very viable tactic to captain one and vice the other. Very unlikely Pep rests both at the same time.

Liverpool don’t have a good Xmas run

It’s easy with hindsight saying Salah is the go-to captain after his hat trick, but it could easily be Kane getting the next hat trick and then everything changes

Possible. But Spurs at home have been average this season and seem to be rotating more with Moura and Lamela available.
Plus I only put Salah in consideration in GW 19 but you can still captain Sterling or Sane and be confident.

        1. Wardinator

I wouldn’t be confident captaining a Sterling or Sane (I have sane in my team) because either can easily be rotated and come on for a 1 point cameo, like Sane last week and like sterling was destined to this week into he got gifted a free header. Would never captain either

Thoughts on a Watford mid in a few games time?

A nice run of fixtures and Pereya and Deulofeu might be good options again. Could double up with Snoddy (have Anderson instead) but prefer to mix it up.

looks good on paper and pereyra is a good bet, but they scored3 goals vs Cardiff and he is not amongst the goal. then you buy Deulofeu and he gets benched next game. To me there´s too much uncertainty with that team.

he looks good, it´s just that Watford are unreliable as a team and therefore, if you want to rotate it´s difficult to know which fixtures who actually are good or not. That said; Fraser could be the one to switch from as Bournemouth seems to be on a downslide and also occasionally plays as wingback, like yesterday. Watford with decent festive programme, so prob worth a shot?

Anyone considering going without Kane and having just Son as Spurs cover? I'm looking at doing over these over the next 2 GW's..

    Kane, Lacazette, Sterling, Billing

    To

    Aguero, Rondon, Salah, Son

    Playing 3-5-2.

Spurs cover is overrated. Spurs are lucky to be in the position they are in and Poch's rotation ruins the rhythm of the team. Look at how far Kane and Alli's level is this season from previous seasons.

I bought Ederson for 5.6 and he will finish the season as the top scoring GK. No reason to change

Was planning to take out Salah for Sterling but now recosidering it.
Is Kane really worth the money?
Salah has better form! Also, many cheap strikers are matching/outscoring Kane.

And if you have Sane/Sterling/Salah, your captaincy problems are diminished.

I think Kane proved yesterday that he isn't worth it. I'm keeping just for a few more gwks

I think I'm ditching Kane already, going Hazard and Jimenez for Brooks and him.

I've been burned by Kane in the past a few times. Around Christmas too. Haven't touched him this year.

I feel mids are doing better than strikers this year. I've got Chico and Wilson up front with a 5 midfield of Salah, Hazard, Sane, Anderson and Richarlison.
Got some premium defenders too. Think it's the way to go this year anyway.

The striker spots look like a difficult one at the moment. Kane is not delivering to his price tag, City have two options, Lacazette is not getting enough minutes. Aubameyang is doing well, but all the cheaper options to partner him with are all in a difficult patch of fixtures.

Fulham and Mitrovic look pretty awful, Bournemouth and Wilson are in a rough couple of weeks. Rondón has a lot of top 6 sides coming up.

Is Jiménez looking like the best second striker, going with Kamara as third and a 5-man midfield?

Come with your eye test observations and thoughts on the upcoming fixtures.

Jimenez is a great asset to have, and can be benched for the tough fixtures
Not sure about Kamara, he missed a big chance yesterday, might lose his spot, would like to see Rashford today, he could be my 2nd striker

Hernandez is making a case for himself.

Kane have Bournemouth, Wolves (H), Cardiff B, United, Fulham, and that looks very good but when he plays so deep and Poch rotates like a drunken shipsailor we saw last night that Burnley home were not the best fixture after all. Everton will try to attack and Bournemouth too, so that might suit Spurs better. And will Poch rotate during Christmas? No clue

To me, i have 2FT and firstly i thought i have no moves to make but i considering a swap from Kane and Fraser to Hernandez and Hazard. West ham have decent fixtures, only thing that could be of concern is that they play late 27th and then midday 30th, both away games Southampton and Burnley. Some travelling there so rotation could be on the cards

Who should I bring in for TAA this GW? Have 5.6 to spend. Rest of defence is Kola/Doc/AWB/Schindler.

    A) Lovren
    B) Digne
    C) Another

Everton missed Gueye, if he is back i think Everton would be very tough. One would think that game would be more open than Burnley game.

      No
Spurs were awful and Pochettino was very late to react, should have subbed Eriksen & Llorente both in at halftime
It was very a painful game to watch

Yes, he is more suited for tight games like that

Llorente was great when he came on, created a big chance for Son, and pulled 2 CBs that opened space for Kane & Eriksen in the goal.
