We are delighted to introduce a new article to Fantasy Football Scout to help collect our community’s thoughts on the biggest talking points in Fantasy Premier League.

Each week we will create a Google Form for you to submit a poll and some options for fellow Fantasy Football Scout users to vote on.

We will pick the best ones and publish them in an article later in the week.

For example, you could submit something as simple as ‘Should I sell Mohamed Salah’ with the options of ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

Or alternatively, you could submit something with a bit more detail like ‘When is the right time to sell Mohamed Salah’ with potential options of ‘Gameweek 30’, ‘Gameweek 31’, ‘Gameweek 32’, ‘Gameweek 33’ or ‘Gameweek 34’.

Maybe you’d like to find out what the consensus is on the best Liverpool triple-up, you could submit options such as ‘one defender, two midfielders’, ‘two defenders, one midfielder’, ‘three defenders’ and ‘one defender, one midfielder and one forward’.

We are looking forward to seeing what subjects you would like to collect votes on and hopefully, this article can help canvas opinion on each Gameweek’s key talking points.

    Pick one for GW31:

    A - Matip, Hazard & Vardy
    B - Pereira, Hazard & Mane

B, just a slight concern that Matip wouldn't start, and assuming you won't have any covering subs.

    Start
    A) Duffy (pal)
    B) Shaw (ars)

    Also;
Pogba or Son > Brooks? The other will be gone by the next GW

How good was David advocating Digne to Periera in GW25? When FFS suggest transfers you know something is wrong

David is a little less experienced than the other scouts, he tend to favour data heavily too which can be a bad thing at certain times.

If Callum Wilson scores a brace against Huddersfield, I think he becomes a high risk/high reward option over Barnes.

    Thoughts?

If he scores a brace against Huddersfield, scratch that, if he starts against Huddersfield, he becomes a no risk, all reward option for GW31.

      1. _Greg

I'm between him or Barnes as I'd like to keep Kane for Brighton and Huddersfield.

        1. HamezMace
          • 11 Years
          6 years, 9 months ago

Depends on chip strategy/WC etc, but I wouldn't carry a player with no value tied up, through the blanks, Kane obviously blanks in 31, and likely blanks in 33 also.

Whereas Wilson, and Barnes both have games.

As I say, depends if you are FH32 or not.

              Then I wouldn't be benching 11.5m in GW31, and probably GW33.
I'd use that money to get Higuian instead of Barnes.

In my case, I have Sterling, Son, JWP, Rashford, and Jimenez who blank in 31/33.

I have the most value tied up in Jimenez so I'm keeping him for sure, and probably Rashford too.

So I could either do Son and Sterling to Mane and Hazard.
or Son and JWP to Mane and McNeil/Westwood/Fraser.

              Seems obvious right?

                6 years, 9 months ago

true, you're gonna do do Son and Sterling to Mane and Hazard. In terms of transfers though, I like the risk of Jimenez failing & I buy him back at 6.5m later on if I do desire.

                  I am.

Well we know Jimenez has a DGW in 32, and will likely play in both those games, as they have no other striker really.
He could well drop when casuals check their teams next week and discover he has a blank, but I have 0.8 value tied up in him, and want him from 34-37, so easy decision to keep for me.

I might just play 5 at the back in 31 and do Lindelof > Adam Smith.

I'm going 5 at the back too.
Robertson, Digne, Diop, Periera, and Schindler!

Hoping for a the worst episode of match of the day ever.

                      Liverpool 5 - 0 Fulham
                      Bournemouth 5 - 0 Newcastle

It's so mad considering the fact that Selhurt is supposed to be this crazy little fortress! I suppose the atmosphere is good when you're playing expansive attacking football, and less helpful when you invite pressure like Palace do.

They are a direct counter attacking team. They can play that way away from home but at home the expectation is to be on the front foot.

Indeed so, I just wonder why the home atmosphere might be detrimental (if indeed this is a factor rather than pitch size etc).

Thing is that this has been true for a couple of seasons now.

It’s a great atmosphere but that simply doesn’t translate into points. I think you’re right that our style of pkay just isn’t conducive to home games where the onus is on taking the offensive.

Anyone fancy United to do something equally mind blowing tonight?

      It was brilliant.

Onana, de Ligt, Frenkie, Tadic, Neres, Ziyech were incredible.

And no, United without Pogba and don't have enough attacking options available.

One of the best games I've seen for a while, quite a historic turning point as well I think, Madrid have had such European dominance for quite some time, I think CL semis for 8 years consecutively, but last night, you could see that team needs serious regeneration.

de Ligt, Ziyech are two wonderful footballers. de Ligt especially is made for the PL one day.

        1. Davido989
          • 15 Years

It's great to see Madrid get run ragged on their home turf. Suppose Ajax are going to get raided a la Monaco. de Ligt definitely the biggest talent of them all.

Yes, unfortunately for Ajax, I expect as usual they will lose half of that team in the summer.

I think I might buy some shares in Ajax, if that's possible, the income they must generate from selling talented youngsters must be unrivalled.

It's hard to tell how good PSG really are, playing in the French league, with no competition from Monaco this year, obviously the individuals are top players for their countries, but I just wonder how good of a 'team' PSG really are.

        1. The Overthinker
          • 9 Years

That's true, but then United are nowhere near their full strength. Even if PSG have got no real test at home, the quality of players in both the teams is huge.

          Looks unlikely. They'll definitely score

Need a De Gea-like performance from your keeper...which is lucky.

and a non-Lukaku like performance from your centre forward, which is less lucky.

Only kidding, he's in good form right now, so you never know. First goal is vital.

Keep saying it Real a team that has been hiding behind one player's goals for many seasons.
Still a very good side throughout that period but in particular the CL record dominated by Ronaldo's goals

      1. HamezMace
        • 11 Years

I think if anything last night shows how good Ronaldo is, and how important to Madrid he was.
You could see the players drop when they went 2-0 down, as if to say, well without Ronaldo how are we going to get back into this game.
I think it's a case of age, and lack of hunger - Modric a great example, obviously wanted to left in the summer as he felt he'd done everything he could with Madrid.
Kroos well off the pace last night, Benzema not been at it for a while, Bale obviously struggling and has issues with the club/supporters/media.
Lots of unhappy faces around the place, end of an era.

Will probably do this. Thanks Berb

Where in the Members Section would I find xG for the coming GW......as in, in this case, GW30 ?

I can see the last gameweek(s) numbers under Player Stats, but I seem not to be able to put my fingers on xG for the coming week - am I missing something ?

    1. AuFeld
      • 9 Years
      6 years, 9 months ago

      You can't.

"Expected goals (xG) measures the quality of a shot based on several variables such as assist type, shot angle and distance from goal, whether it was a headed shot and whether it was defined as a big chance.

Adding up a player or team’s expected goals can give us an indication of how many goals a player or team should have scored on average, given the shots they have taken."

It's a measurement to determine if a player has over or under performed.

    Buongiorno lads

Here is how I am lining up atm for GW30:

    1FT 1.0itb
    Fab
    Robbo, TAA, Luiz, Pereira
    Salah, Sterling, Pogba, Jota
    Jimi, Higuain
    (Hamer) (Barnes, Doherty, JWP)

I am planning on doing these moves between now and GW31 (with plan to FH32 and WC34):
    A) Jota > Brooks
    B) JWP > Maddison / Lanzini
    C) Sterling > Haz

Which, if any, would you do this week? Would you change any of them?

    Cheers!

      Dubious about Jota.

I’m shipping him if only because he seems to be benched around the 60 mark. Counting his returns and saying thank you.

      Brooks?

Hennessey was a tactical decision. Guaita will start again.

Still a good option. Hodson brought Hennessey in as a one off because of his height apparently.

This FPL season feels like I deliberately picked up a yellow to sit out an easy game and accidentally dumped myself out of the tournament.

I wonder if anyone else feels like that this morning.

    Guaita
    Chilwell, Alonso, TAA
    (S)terling, Mane, Maddison, Brooks
    Arnie, Vardy, Higuain

    Boruc, Rice, Pogba, Shaw

I need to lose one of Jimenez, Kane, Pogba or Lindelof to field 11 in 31. Which you you lose and why? No WC for 35. I was dead set on Jimenez to Wilson/Barnes after previously earmarking Kane>Vardy, now I'm wondering after what Berb said above should I lose Lindelof instead?

    Jimenez SV 6.3m BB 6.9m
    Pogba SV 8.4m BB 9m
    Kane 12.4m
    Lindelof SV 4.9m BB 5.1m

You're right on paper. But 31 is gonna be terrible for everyone so I could field 10 if I wanted and be fine. Probably gonna lose Lindelof now instead.

G2G? TC, BB and FH still to play and 1.6 ITB

    Guaita
    Robbo / Pereira / AWB / Shaw
    Salad (C) / Maddison / Mane / Son / Pogba
    King

    Etheridge / Jimenez / Barnes / Doherty

    In away games:

    -Most goals conceded
    -Most SoT conceded
    -Most big chances conceded
    -Most def errors
-2nd most def errors leading to goals
-2nd most goals conceded in box

    Looks like I'm buying Vardy.
