Introducing FPL Think Tank

We are delighted to introduce a new article to Fantasy Football Scout to help collect our community’s thoughts on the biggest talking points in Fantasy Premier League.

Each week we will create a Google Form for you to submit a poll and some options for fellow Fantasy Football Scout users to vote on.

We will pick the best ones and publish them in an article later in the week.

For example, you could submit something as simple as ‘Should I sell Mohamed Salah’ with the options of ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

Or alternatively, you could submit something with a bit more detail like ‘When is the right time to sell Mohamed Salah’ with potential options of ‘Gameweek 30’, ‘Gameweek 31’, ‘Gameweek 32’, ‘Gameweek 33’ or ‘Gameweek 34’.

Maybe you’d like to find out what the consensus is on the best Liverpool triple-up, you could submit options such as ‘one defender, two midfielders’, ‘two defenders, one midfielder’, ‘three defenders’ and ‘one defender, one midfielder and one forward’.

We are looking forward to seeing what subjects you would like to collect votes on and hopefully, this article can help canvas opinion on each Gameweek’s key talking points.

    Clearly an almost unanswerable question but, going on rumours/ gut-feel, how nailed do you think Sterling (WAT) is for GW30?

    He would be a nice differential for the armband in my cash ML if he plays and does well vs Salah (BUR) who is the safe choice.

    What do you reckon?

      Yeah he could still be pretty fresh and is surely guaranteed a start against a side who can easily put five past them. I have fond memories of him as a differential cap back in (November?) when he scored me 42 points 🙂

      They have a full week off this week, and what you would assume is a pretty comfortable CL game next week, and then the Cup against a Championship team.

      I'd say, 95% he starts this weekend in the PL.
      and will be rested/benched in one of the two games that follow.

    Which pair would you prefer to have for 30, 31 and 33?
    A) Apzi and Boruc (means no BOU attack)
    B) Brooks and Fabianski (no CHE defence, plus a price loss of 0.2)

    I'd absolutely love to transfer in a midfielder costing about 5 to 6, who has a DGW 32 and a fixture in GW33, but who do you think is most likely to do so? And yes, I have been looking in the spreadsheet navigation the blanks and doubles 🙂

      Iwobi? @5.4 getting minutes and less sporadic than Pedro, although Pedro a better prospect. I went mkhi but he's 6.8

      Yes - I'd pick Lanzini for sure. Looking sharp, plays centrally, good relationship with Anderson building.

      I am really sold on using it on Sané for a double gameweek 27 with good fixtures. That extra one point might make all the difference this season.

      Such an overrated chip. Best to just use it on a single gameweek during the course of the season and get it out of the way. Same thing happens every year, people keep hold of it for too long and their options are narrowed to the last few weeks of the season.

          You could have got 50 of those points from a normal captaincy. Plus whatever you got from triple captaining a single gameweeker. A nice boost if you get it right of course but not season defining.

    Which transfer plan scores more points in Gw30 ,31 and 33 ?

    Using 1 ft Gw30 and next 2 transfers in Gw31 for a -4 . Fh32

    Currently have 2 Liverpool players in Robertson and Salah but only Higuaín of Chelsea. Rival has Robertson and Mané and Hazard. Should I triple up on Liverpool with TAA or Mane or Double up Chelsea with bringing in Hazard?

    got 2 FT, need to use one this week. planning on FH 32, so have BGW 31 in mind:

    A)
    30: jimi, pogba > higuain, fanderson (lose 0.4 with pogba sale)
    31: sterling > hazard

    B)
    30: sane > fanderson (don't have sane for plum fixture)
    31: sterling, jimi > hazard, higuain

    unfortunately i can't afford jimi > hig in isolation 🙁

    Guys I want to bring in 3 more players for blank 31 giving me 9 in total.

    hello all, got 3 FTs until gw 31, but it feels weird to drop either of Son/Sterling/Aguero to achieve my gw 31 team.

    2 FTs now.
    Fab, Steele
    TAA, Luiz, Doherty, Pereira, AWB
    Salah, Sterling, Son, Pogba, Gunnarsson
    Aguero, Jimenez, Barnes

    0.2itb.

    My plan is to do -4:
    Hazard, Brooks, Robertson, Vardy for
    Sterling, Gunnarsson, AWB and Aguero

    Can't seem to do it without downgrading either Sterling/Aguero this week. Any suggestions?
