Fantasy Allsvenskan: double gameweek

Gameweek 10 review

In GW10, Djurgården won a very strange game that was actually quite intense against Elfsborg. There were cards flying all over the place, with Haris Radetinac (6.3m) receiving a straight red for an act of aggression in the 17th minute to go along with 7 (!) yellow cards received by other players in the first half of the game. In the 32nd minute, Mohamed Buya Turay (9.6m) tried to go for goal with an overhead kick that resulted in Elfsborg defender Joakim Nilsson (5.5m) getting kicked in the head and genuine fears for his long term well-being as the game was halted for a long period of time, with medics trying to figure out just how bad it was. Luckily, he came back to it eventually and was carried off the pitch for an extended check-up.

His replacement Jon Jönsson (4.3m) was involved immediately as he conceded a penalty shortly after to Buya Turay, in an incident that happened outside the penalty box and contained some question marks as to its overall validity. The second half was somewhat more relaxed, only containing the solitary yellow card on Jonathan Augustinsson (5.4m) as Elsborg failed to make the most of their numerical advantage.

AIK with Tarik Elyounoussi (9.2m) leading the line (scoring two goals yet again, seven in four now) managed to extend Falkenberg’s misery with another loss, even though it looked a bit shaky in the first half. BK Häcken took part in a seven-goal thriller (3-4) as they travelled to IK Sirius, with Paulinho (12.0m) and Alexander Jeremejeff (9.6m) both delivering. Interesting to see Swedish cup hero Mervan Celik (6.6m) get his first start of the season and respond by getting 1 goal and 1 assist. If he can nail down a spot (which looks very tough though) he could be absolute fantasy gold. As things are, we’ll have to wait and see if this was just a temporary thing or something more long-term from Häcken coach Andreas Alm.

Double Gameweek 11 preview

Gameweek 11 sees Malmö FF and GIF Sundsvall take part in two games each while the rest are stuck with just the one fixture. Malmö plays at home to AFC Eskilstuna and Sundsvall, while Sundsvall plays at home to AIK, and away to Malmö.

Since it’s only those two teams, the natural maximum limits of players reside at a total of six, which doesn’t have to be a bad thing though as there are some decent options all around emerging. We’ll do a brief overview of some of the main options from the DGW-teams, as well as interesting single gameweekers for GW11 in Allsvenskan.

Malmö options

Goalkeeper Johan Dahlin (6.0m) is nailed and a good prospect both for the double gameweek and going forward. There are a few decent GKs around though (Peter Abrahamsson (6.2m) and Oscar Linnér (6.0m) springs to mind) but the biggest selling point right now is that he’s at the very least certain to start and should do well.

The defence at Malmö is an interesting but complex issue… Bob Sacamano shared his thoughts on the matter and it’s a thread worth checking out if you haven’t already. Basically, Malmö tends to set up as a 3-5-2 with two wingbacks bombing forward on the flanks. On the left-hand side, Sören Rieks (9.7m) has started in 9 out of 10 games so far, netting 3 goals and 2 assists (classified as a midfielder in the game). On the right-hand side, Andreas Vindheim (6.4m) has played 8 games, getting 3 assists so far. He has however been sold to AC Sparta Prague yet remains with the squad up until the summer break (post GW12). In GW10, Malmö experimented with Jo Inge Berget (8.7m, classified as a striker in the game) as a wingback with a decent result, although he went off slightly injured, reports indicate he should be fine. Remains to be seen whether or not Berget gets renewed faith or if they stick with Vindheim, they might play one each in the double. Eric Larsson (6.5m) has played a lot of football as a right back/wingback as well and is another option if he’s not needed at centre back.

The centre of defence has mostly consisted of Rasmus Bengtsson (6.3m), Eric Larsson, and Oscar Lewicki (6.0m), with Behrang Safari (5.9m) also making some appearances recently. Lewicki is a midfielder by trade but has played quite a few games in the heart of the defence, given that he’s still classified as a mid though he becomes slightly less of a prospect. Franz Brorsson (5.2m) is a natural centre back though who is just returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury, given that Bengtsson looks unlikely to feature (possible for both games) he could be the one that Uwe Rösler turns to and he also has a very kind price-tag.

As far as midfielders go it’s mostly down to three blokes, Rieks at wingback, Arnór Invi Traustason (8.9m) and Anders “AC” Christiansen (9.8m). All of them looks like decent options but it will be interesting to see if AC’s new-found goalscoring streak can continue. He’s on a lot of set-pieces and is always an assist threat, but if he can add goals to his game, he could be very good going forward!

Speaking of forwards, they are a tough prospect for the double. In form striker Markus Rosenberg (10.2m) got his third yellow card of the season in GW10 and suffered a one-game suspension as a result. Marcus Antonsson (10.8m) who is his main partner in crime hasn’t hit the back of the net since GW5. Berget is now being tried at wingback and Guillermo Molins (8.3m) hasn’t featured much so far, but could reasonably start in the first game if nothing else. I don’t think Marcus Antonsson should be ruled out of the discussion though, he could even be a sneaky captaincy shout (especially if you’re deploying the two-captains chip)!

Sundsvall options

GIF Sundsvall is in a bit of an economic bind made tougher by their recent form on the pitch. The club is currently on track towards ending the season in the red (negative 12,4 million Swedish crowns) and has put up a plan to sell for at least 5 million Swedish Crowns to keep the club floating. It looks very likely that one or two players leave this summer, with David Batanero (8.3m) rumoured to be wanting out.

Goalkeeper William Eskelinen (5.5m) had a great season last time around and has had an interesting 2019 season so far. Not managing to keep a single clean sheet all season, he still averages 4,6 points per game thanks to 38 saves, a handful of bonus points and two saved penalties. An interesting choice, especially given that the opposition (AIK and Malmö) are highly likely to pepper the goal with shots from all around. Unlikely to keep a CS but there should be some saves and bonus in there.

Sundsvall defenders haven’t set the world alight with their performances so far and perhaps the biggest disappointment is last years golden boy Jonathan Tamimi (5.8m). Last season he got 1 goal, 9 assists and 8 clean sheets. This time around he has 0 goals, 0 assists and 0 clean sheets, averaging a staggering 1,7 point per game. Top scoring defender so far in Sundsvall is Alexander Blomqvist (5.0m) who has amassed a measly 24 points. Given their fixtures in the double gameweek, the defenders seem like a no go unless you want to take a gamble on Tamimi somehow getting back to his best.

Midfield hasn’t been a place of joy either for Sundsvall, as top scorer Maic Sema (8.4m) has failed to register at single attacking return since GW3. Batanero deserves a mention as he’s a bonus point magnet but two assists and no goals so far hardly seem impressive. Could his mind already be drifting towards greener pastures?

The big double gameweek option from Sundsvall has to be forward Linus Hallenius (10.6m) who’s scored 6 goals so far. With Sundsvall’s poor recent form he has hardly helped himself out, blanking in four straight games going into DGW11. A bit expensive for what he is currently delivering but over the course of two games he could of course nick something, depending on the service he gets.

Single gameweekers to target

There are a couple of players that are in form and has a decent fixture in GW11, yet “only” play one game. Tarik Elyounoussi is in great shape, netting seven goals in his last four games. He faces off against Sundsvall that hasn’t kept a single clean sheet so far. Muamer Tankovic (9.1m) blanked against Göteborg but should be able to be in the points against the team he was fostered in (IFK Norrköping) at home. Likewise, Vidar Örn Kjartansson (10.1m) has returned 4 goals and 2 assists in the previous 8 games.

Alexander Jeremejeff is in brilliant form ahead of the Gothenburg-derby against Häcken, netting 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 5 games and is starting to prove his relative value against the more expensive PaulinhoGiorgi Kharaishvili (8.3m) is also starting to show signs of form reminiscent of last season and is definitely one to watch ahead of Benjamin Nygren’s (6.3m) possible summer departure.

That about wraps it up. Are you excited for the first Double Gameweek of the season?

Who are you getting in? Is it all Malmö players or will you dabble in some Sundsvall prospects as well (Hallenius or otherwise)?

Will you be deploying one of the chips this week? If so, which one?

90 all out and up to 77 OR here. I took a hit to bring in Larsson and Brorsson. It worked out, but it could have been better if I got Safari instead. I played my first chip of the season by using double captains on Christiansen and Larsson, which was quite successful with 60 points in total.

I would have been 24 points better off if I never did Ring, Jeremejeff > Svensson, Hallenius. I would have been 19 OR but that's fantasy for you.

Looking ahead to DGW13, I only have two players from AIK (Linner and Tarik) and none from Norrkoping. PTB doesn't suit me at all with only 2 FTs to get ready for it. My plan is to bring in Larsson and Jeremejeff for Hallenius and Nygren, and play my Attack! Attack! chip. Too bad Hallenius sucks so hard, he could have been a good choice for that week because he's playing against AFC.

GW17 will be brutal without AIK - Malmo - Norrkoping players, be careful about that one!

      Great job!

If you're looking at players from Norrköping, Larsen, Larsson and Thorarinsson are all good choices. Also wise to take out Hallenius and Nygren, since he's so strongly rumoured to leave.

I'm looking at having 5-6 DGW-players for DGW13, but will then have to use every substitution until GW18 to fade them out. Good thing about these special gameweeks is that many casuals don't seem to have a clue about them, which is good for us who do our planning wisely 🙂

With only two free transfers, I know I am going to use one on Larsson. The other one I am not sure yet, but it could be either Thorarinsson or Jeremejeff. I could even take a hit again (even though I do not like).

I think WC in GW19 is a good strategy if you are going to have a maximum of 4 players (if you bench all of them and do not have any blankers in your squad) from those three good teams in GW18. What are your thoughts on this?

What about Lars Krogh Gerson? He has looked good the last few games and plays pretty far up the pitch. Think I will get him over Larsen

Gerson is obviously the best choice from the Norrköping defence, but he's also a bit more expensive than Larsen. Think he's been playing as a wingback lately, scoring plenty of points. If the money is there, he's a great option for DGW13.

So we have a 2pm GW deadline tomorrow in Allsvenskan.. what are your transfer plans and who is your likely captain?

I've done Hallenius > Elyounoussi.. seems a really straight forward one. He'll likely be my captain as well.

If both are fit and likely to play, then I'd pick Nalic every day of the week.

Not afraid you've missed that boat? Surely he can't keep this up?

I have 2 FTs of which I like to only use 1 as we go into the summer break. That way I can move players out in case the likes of Sundgren and Nygren make a transfer elsewhere.

Let's see, I still own Sundsvall's Sema and should probably ditch him after no attacking returns in the last 9 gameweeks, lol. Away to Ostersunds isn't necessarily a bad fixture though.

I'm more inclined to do Haglund to Kharaishvili and give him the armband. Goteborg's fixtures are quite tasty.

Looking to save a transfer to have 2 going into the summer break.

Tankovic captain but not feeling superb about it! AIK-Hammarby is going to be a tough game but there should be some goals, possibly on both sides but most certainly from AIK I think.

I'm doing Hallenius > Jordan Larsson.

Hoping Brorsson finally gets a start. I have the same decision regarding Jarl-Nalic, but I will most likely go with Nalic.

Looking at Tarik aswell, but not until DGW13. AIK have been absolutely awful the past few games, scoring on pretty much every chance they've got. Despite the form I don't fancy him for more gameweeks than necessary, and certainly not in a derby against Hammarby.

My transfer was Traustasson out for Ring, and I'm putting the armband on him. Sirius are shipping goals like crazy at home, and Ring is in excellent form. Also, the coaches of Djurgården knows every little detail about Sirius since they coached them last season, so I expect a comfortable away win. This fixture last season was about the same time of the season and Djurgården won by 5-1 if I rememeber it correctly. That gives me a good vibe 🙂

I've done Antonsson to Larsson with my FT, good fixture v AFC and ready for DGW13. Captaincy on Ring - hoping to take advantage of that Sirius defence.

Anyone got the latest on Bengtsson?

That's great news, but also pretty expected. People really overestimated the seriousness of the injury because he was carried of on a strecher. In fact, he was in the 19 men squad for the games last week but was the one removed from the 18 men matchday squad. Great to have him back, hope he'll do some serious punishment to all of those shipping him.

I see absolutely no reason to why he wouldn't play. He's theire first choice LB and has 9 starts in 11 games. Being rested once in a while doesn't make a player a rotation risk.

I think it is pretty worrying that he has been rested in 2 of the last 4 games, and had late cameos in both. Arkivou wasnt fully fit earlier in the season but now he is

Häcken one the Swedish cup final on Thursday. I guess that's one of the reasons he was rested. He did assist as well, and Häcken won.

    Thoughts on this WC squad?

    Anestis Joelsson

    Mets Larsen Dimitriadis Witry Björkman

    Christiansen Rieks Tankovic Ring Jarl

    Elyonoussi Kharaisvili Larsson

      Looks excellent!

Not sure if two Malmö midfielders are necessary, perhaps swap Rieks for a Norrköping midfielder like Thorarinsson who has a dgw13? Also need a plan to take out all DGW 13 players for BGW 18.

      Best of luck!

Nice. I was going to write same as above (about 2x MFF mids) - and another NOR like Nyman/Thorarinsson.
But guess you still have a ft before 13 so could play both vs hif then switch one before aik.

      Abrahamsson
      Bengtsson* - Sundgren - Hodzic
      Traustason - Jarl - Tankovic - Rieks
      Nygren - Elyounoussi - Jeremejeff
      (Joelsson - Nalic - Larson - Kossounou)

I'm a bit stuck about what I should do with the team this week. Have two free transfers after I missed the deadline last time, and Bengtsson is still injured.

Maybe Bengtsson our for Gerson? He's got AFC this week and a DGW13 after the break. You'll then go into DGW13 with 2ft and some mobey in the bank.

Lars Krogh Gersson at Norrköping could be a good replacement for Bengtsson!

Not sure how or when but Odilon needs to go soon given he’s sold. I’d also consider Jonathan Ring vs a leaky Sirius defence 🙂

Krogh Gersson looks like the go-to guy this GW!

Tempted by Ring vs Sirius too, but I'll have to make a decision whether to spend that second transfer, or save it until after the international break. There is also Larsson to consider!

Over the moon with this week!

67 points, 7th green in a row. Another GW rank in the top 1k with my OR now 277.

I'm on 664 myself (OR 1,412); would've been more if I didn't miss the deadline last gameweek, and the opportunity to play Two Captains. More DGW's coming up though.

        Nice! Congrats.

68 points for me, 6th green in a row. After a middling first 7 GWs (after which I was OR 13,620) I'm now up to a more respectable 1,146 OR.

I think all of the clean sheets this GW helped with the good scores. A pity my captain, Elyounoussi, blanked though. Also, I had 3 Larssons in my starting 11, but unfortunately not Seb, the highest scoring one 🙂

Obviously, we've got the summer break now, but I'm hoping to come out strong straightaway in GW13 and improve my OR further. I've already got 3 AIK & 3 Norrkoping in preparation, but as 4 of those 6 are in defence, I'll be hoping for more clean sheets above all else. I usually do my transfers fairly early in the gameweek, but I'll be holding off on doing GW 13's one until closer to the deadline to avoid surprises, even though I already know that it will be almost certainly be Sundgren out for a different AIK defender.

Looks like you're on a great run too!

I have Dimitriadis, Elyounoussi from AIK & Larsson from Norkopping so far. Looking at getting Krog Gerson & Thern/Thorarinsson for GW13.

I'll hold off until the last minute to see if there's any developments with summer transfers, as Norkopping aren't that great I'm not that keen on going big on them. If there's a key transfer I'd rather go with them and just one extra from Norkopping maybe.

        Great job!

56p and a small red arrow for me after another disappointing GW. The clean sheets really killed my GW. Clean sheets for Djurgården, Häcken and Malmö - I had Witry, Andersson and Brorsson with a combined score of 2p. This rotation crap is very annoying as I'm reluctant to waste transfers on sideways moves like Witry to Danielsson, Andersson to Lindgren etc. On the other hand I can't afford to miss out on more points. Had that been Danielsson, Lindgren and Larsson I would have been in the top 15 now.

Hope for a quiet break now, and that Sundgren stays for at least the DGW. Next transfer will hopefully be Cibicki to Tarik in order to play "Attack" with Larsson, Tarik and Jeremejeff. Will then have 5 players for DGW13.

I read that Sundgren will join Aris Thessaloniki FC "in July". Part of me is hoping that this means he'll still be at AIK for both games of the DGW (June 25th & June 30th), but I wouldn't be too confident of that. I imagine he's probably played his last game for AIK this past week. We'll obviously know more before the GW13 deadline, so I'm waiting until then before making any moves.

I wish FF Scout had an edit comment function. After I posted above it occurred to me to check if Sundgren had an Instagram account that might give some clues as to whether he's staying with AIK for a while or moving to Aris immediately.

A recent post by him, and comments and posts by what may very well be Aris Thessaloniki's official Instagram account seem to indicate that he's flying to Thessaloniki tomorrow.

I'm still going to wait until it's 100% official that he won't be playing in the DGW, and also until I know that there won't be any other transfer window surprises, so that I can make the best transfer possible for GW13.

It seems pretty certain that he will leave very soon, but right now all we can do is wait I’m afraid. Would be very nice to have him for a DGW-goodbye if nothing else!
