Scoutcast discusses Pukki, Leicester and emerging FPL trends

After a long international break, the Scoutcast is back to discuss all the key talking points ahead of Gameweek 9.

You can watch it from 20:00 to 21:00 BST on our YouTube channel, or embedded in the article below.

For Episode 304, Joe is joined by Fantasy Football Scout editor David and special guest Sam Bonfield, one half of the well-known FPL Family.

Currently enjoying a 19k worldwide rank, Sam is a regular on the FPL Show, FPLFYI and the official FPL podcast.

She will be making her debut on the Scoutcast tonight after contributing to articles on Fantasy Football Scout over the last 12 months.

On the show tonight, we will be looking at what has become of Teemu Pukki (£7.1m) in recent weeks, as well as whether Leicester are a team we should be looking at going forward.

Finally, we will also be discussing how best we can pick up emerging trends in Fantasy, to make sure we are ahead of the curve on any upcoming bandwagons.

    VVD and Barnes to Soy/Tomori and C Wilson for a -4

    On WC... eyeing Schar due to nice fixtures and high goal threat. Who would you take?

    A) Schar + Jimenez
    B) Soy + Wilson

    Current squad
    Pope/Button
    TAA/Robertson/Lund/Pieters/Soy
    Salah/KDB/Mount/Sterling/Cantwell
    Tammy/Pukki/Greenwood

    2 transfers, 0.1 itb

    A) Salah/Pukki --> Mane/King
    B) Salah/Pukki --> Kun/Maddison
    C) Salah/Pukki --> Auba/Maddison
    D) Salah/Greenwood --> Mahrez/King
    E) Sterling/Pukki --> Kun/Yarmolenko
    F) Sterling/Greenwood--> Mahrez/King

      F) Sterling/Greenwood--> Mahrez/King

      Not really convinced that any of those 3 proposed moves makes your team any better.

      I dig losing Salah for Mane to free up some cash, but Pukki to King seems like a sideways move.

      C is probably the best option but you are losing Liverpool attackers. Even with their tougher schedule I'd still want one of Salah or Mane.

      By all means, ditch Greenwood! But is Sterling to Mahrez really going to help you on a weekly basis?

      Making changes is one thing, but unless you're really doing it to significantly upgrade a position of weakness its not necessary to do it.

    Can anyone answer me these questions three?

    1. How nailed is Rico?
    2. Charlie Taylor - good option at 4.2m with Pieters injured?
    3. Lacazette - worth a punt? More so, does his return negatively impact on Auba?

    Many thanks (you don’t need to answer all three to reply, if you have specific information on any one question please share your thoughts)

        I don’t think it’s bad, came off in their last game, guess we’ll get an update in the press conference.

        I can’t overlook the Arsenal fixtures, and going Lacazette instead of Auba would allow me a midfield of Sterling, Mane, KdB, and Mount.

                Arsenal havent even hit 3rd gear yet imo. With the first choice defense and Laca coming back, and guys like Guendo and Ceballos further settling in their role, you can expect Arsenal to get those big scorelines more frequently than Lei. 5-0 vs NEW was a bit of an anomaly after the RC.

                  I'm considering starting him ahead of Ota this week but bit nervous that Kelly might nick his spot. Doubt it though, be harsh to drop him while in good form.

        agreed, but being on WC makes it more tempting to just bring him in this week if fit.

            United's next 6 after Pool look tasty to be fair, their form is another thing though. Tough call...

      I’ve been monitoring him for my WC team. It’s him or Maddison currently. Maddison in for now, but I think Martial is a good shout.

    Pope 4.0
    TAA Ota Aurier Lund Rico
    Sterling KDB Son Mount 4.5
    Vardy Tammy Pukki
    1FT
    Pukki to Wilson or King for free ?
    If I go King, gives me money to do Son to Mane next week. Otherwise the plan is to do Sterling to Mane in a few weeks. Currently have no Liv in Attack.

        I don't think he will, he will likely miss the PL game if he does. The game is TBD according to certain websites, and will be played on Friday if it goes ahead. Am confused myself.

          Yes I have checked several sites and the situation is confusing because there does not seem to be a consensus.... maybe there is no match. It would be good to know either way.

      I think it is just African based players for that tournament and Mané hasn't been selected. Still trying to confirm this though.

        Just a one week punt like you for the fixture. Once bitten massively shy with Kane in these sorts of fixtures.

          Go for it. Tammy or Wilson could easily blank as well. And if Kane gets a brace that's a massive boost in the OR.
