FFS Mini-Leagues & Community Competitions Gameweek 9

Welcome to the latest round-up of the Fantasy Football Scout mini-leagues and community competitions. This article covers Gameweek 9 in FPL, Gameweek 25 in Fantasy Eliteserien, and Gameweek 28 in Fantasy Allsvenskan.

Head-to-Head Leagues

olavi oja leapfrogs Craig Johnson (aka Bouncebackability) and Owen Walker (aka Zan Scott Talent) to take the lead in the FFS Head-to-Head leagues on rank difference.

Owen’s conqueror this week Simon Vazquez joins the trio on 21 points, however Simon sits fourth in the table due to his inferior overall rank.

When managers are tied on points, rank is used to separate them. At 56,341 overall Olavi currently heads the leading pack while a position of 95,865 in the standings ensures Craig occupies second spot in League 1.

Olavi defeated Ignazio La Rosa by 36 points to 27 despite two of his Manchester City players missing out in Gameweek 9.

Replacing Aguero and Mahrez in the starting XI were Dendoncker and Lundstram, who together provided a welcome 8 points. Unfortunately for Ignazio, Rico’s 8 points were left tantalisingly on his bench.

Olavi is 39th in the Career Hall of Fame. This is his tenth FPL season and he has finished inside the top 4,000 in each of the last three campaigns.

After nine Gameweeks just seven managers maintain 100% winning records in the Head-to-Head leagues.

Pavle Ziman boasts an impressive 27 points out of 27 in League 6, despite an overall rank of 407,953. And Juden Rosli is the only manager yet to draw or lose in League 7.

Out of the 3,443 managers in League 8 just five – Gavin McQuarrie, Ammar Mirza, Neil Robinson, Vladimir Stojiljkovic and Adam Hardwidge – still have unblemished starts.

At 145th overall, Thomas Saelen has the best rank of any manager in the Head-to-Head leagues.

Thomas now leads Division 102 of League 8 after Satyam Kumar finally lost his 100% record. Satyam slips to third with Lee Murphy (aka CroatianHammer) moving into second. The top three are tied on 24 points and separated by rank difference.

A fixtures table will be published in the Scout’s Guide to Gameweek 10 tomorrow. However, if you would like to find out who you are playing next before then, follow this link. Use your browser’s find in page function (Ctrl+F) to locate managers. All this information and more is contained in the main Head-to-Head page

Fantasy Football Scout Mini-Leagues

Darren Hyatt is the new leader of our Fantasy Football Scout mini-league moving up from second place last week. Previous leader Mohammad Hafiz Emran drops to fifth after a Gameweek score of 29.

Darren is now 23rd overall and is yet to play a chip or take a hit, whereas most of the teams above him have already played one or more chips. The Manchester United fan has also taken the lead in the Beat the FPL Panel mini-league.

There are currently 43,598 managers participating in the Fantasy Football Scout mini-league, to join them enter code ooyz44 in your Leagues’ section on the FPL site

Tom Foster has had his lead cut to 5 points in our FFS Members mini-league as Martin Dixon grabs second spot. Tom drops to 719th overall following a season-high rank of 76th overall in Gameweek 3.

Martin, currently the number-one-ranked manager in France, captained Jamie Vardy on his way to a score of 51 points. Yet to play any chips, Martin has two free transfers heading into Gameweek 10.

The code to join the FFS Members League can be found on the Members page

Community Mini-Leagues and Competitions

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score for Gameweek 9 was 27 points, which saw 221 managers eliminated. The threshold for elimination remains at 7% for Gameweek 10.

2,041 managers have departed the competition so far with 2,857 left to battle it out for the coveted title of Last Man Standing. It is still possible to join them: entries are accepted up until Gameweek 22 – use the code bcvy39 in your Leagues’ section on the FPL site. However you must pass all the previous safety scores to qualify.

Aside from bragging rights, the winner will receive a free Fantasy Football Scout Membership for the 2020/21 season.

B Bodega: Holly’s Hamster brought us the MatchWeek 1 results in the Pundit’s Play-Off Community Tournament. Unbelievable Jeff FC top the league while there were also winning starts for WhenTheOWENgetsTough, The Keane Fifteen, Back to Square Owen, Brazil Nuts, and Blame It On Rio. And congratulations to A Whole Lawro B*llocks who won the all-important avatar competition.

Dan Laidlaw (aka Legomané) increased his lead to two points over Neale (aka SkontoRigga) in our FFS Mods & Cons mini-league. The highest-scoring manager this week was Lee Cowen (aka Granville). Lee managed 42 points despite captaining Son. Bournemouth pair Ramsdale and Rico made up for Son’s paltry return with 14 points.

In RedLightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league Mark Taylor increased his lead over John Holmes to 18 points and moves up to 103rd overall.

Mark played his Wildcard in Gameweek 9 and captained Jimenez for a Gameweek score of 54 points despite no-shows from Aguero and Mahrez. Their absence meant that Rico and Cantwell emerged from his subs bench for a welcome 11 points.

Managers with a top 10k finish may join the league using the code m0tq9y.

An unspectacular 38 points was enough for Ómar Olgeirsson to maintain a narrow 1-point lead in Chaballer’s Top 1,000 HoF League as Ric Obiajulu moves into second place.

Ric’s 47 points could have been even better if Salah and Aguero hadn’t missed out. Instead it was left to David Silva to bolster his total with 11 points. Ric is currently ranked 21,227 overall and has two top-10,000 finishes in the previous three seasons.

Ómar is 474th in the Career Hall of Fame with Ric in 536th place. Managers in the top 1,000 of the Career HoF may enter the league using the code beeps2.

2016/17 FPL winner Ben Crabtree increased his lead to 18 points at the top of the exclusive FPL Champions League.

Lucas Digne was the top scorer for Everton-fan Ben as the Toffees recorded their first clean sheet since Gameweek 2.

Elsewhere 2017/18 champion Yusuf Sheikh held onto second spot with record-FPL-points-holder Jon Reeson moving into third.

Eliteserien and Allsvenskan

After 25 Gameweeks Svein Johansen remains top of the FFS Eliteserien mini-league despite benching his two highest-scoring players.

Eirik Pedersen moved into second place, 12 points behind Svein, following an impressive 62 points. Terje Balteskard is 6 points further back in third. The top three all gained green arrows in the overall standings.

Håvard Gustad opened up a 19-point lead in the battle to be crowned Fantasy Eliteserien champion. Håvard has led for eight of the last nine Gameweeks. And with five rounds to go he is 45 points ahead of Svein Johansen, who is currently 13th overall.

A huge score for Daniel Sebestyen sends him 30 points clear at the top of FFS Allsvenskan mini-league and into first place overall.

Daniel’s 85-point total could have been even bigger if his captain, West Ham loanee Sead Hakšabanović, hadn’t blanked during a 45-minute appearance.

Jan Inge Nordby overtakes Simon Eriksson following an impressive 83 points to claim second spot, while Henrik Mäkitalo remains fourth. All three managers join Daniel in the top ten overall.

Daniel holds a seven-point advantage over former-leader Tobias Wahlström at the summit of Fantasy Allsvenskan.

The Fantasy Football Scout manager has ex-Premier League footballers Sebastian Larsson and Alexander Kačaniklić to thank for catapulting him into first place. The pair, not owned by Tobias, returned 19 points in Gameweek 28.

There are two rounds left for Daniel and co to maintain their impressive ranks. Good luck guys!

TopMarx Fan of Fantasy Football and Monty Python. "Archimedes out to Socrates, Socrates back to Archimedes, Archimedes out to Heraclitus, he beats Hegel. Heraclitus a little flick, here he comes on the far post, Socrates is there, Socrates heads it in! Socrates has scored! The Greeks are going mad, the Greeks are going mad! Socrates scores, got a beautiful cross from Archimedes. The Germans are disputing it. Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside. Is there going to be a Pro Pundits mini-league - or perhaps they could be added to Mods & Cons?

I would expect there to be plenty of interest in following them in one of these mini-leagues.

Amazingly, there is actually one manager in Head-to-Head League 1 with a lower game-week score and worse rank than myself!

The next manager to satisfy both those criteria is down in League 4 Division 4.
