Scoutcast discuss Aguero rotation and budget defences

The Scoutcast is back once again to cover the key discussion topics ahead of Gameweek 11.

David will be joined by Az and current FFS Mods and Cons joint-leader Andy Goddard this week.

The show will run from 20:00 GMT until 21:00 GMT. You can watch it on our YouTube channel.

Up first, the Scoutcast crew will reflect on a Gameweek 10 fraught with contrasting emotions.

Andy did exceptionally well – David and Az did not.

Then, moving forward into Gameweek 11, we will tackle the Manchester City rotation debate, how seriously to take Leicester’s recent form and whether budget defences are coming back into fashion once again.

Should I save here? I'd probably then make 3 changes next gameweek for a hit.

    Pope
    Lundstram Otamendi Burn
    Sterling CHO KDB Mané
    Auba Maupay Abraham

    Button - Soyuncu Nakamba Mings

My defence is a bit of a mess though and you should see my gameweek 12 fixtures! Kinda want to hold Auba but Arsenal look awful right now. Vardy's ownership is just going to keep on rising over the next few gameweeks so it's something I'm looking at alright. Also CHO might need to go soon as it looks like he's under threat of rotation on the wing.

Predicted Man City XI vs Southampton Gameweek 11

    Ederson
    Walker, Stones, Fernandinho, Mendy
    De Bruyne, Gundogan, Dilva
    Sterling, Aguero, Jesus

Personally don't think Jesus starts at the weekend. Aguero is 99.9% nailed on to play against Liverpool so I think the following:

      Southampton - Aguero
      Atalanta - Jesus
      Liverpool - Aguero

      Pep, schmep.

Nice to see someone going the right direction with Mane and Sterling.

Sterling top so far this season for "expected fpl points"

That said I'd still ideally have Sterling + KDB + Salah/Mane

Vardy is not as essential as everybody is making him out to be, Leicester have a poor xg when not playing against bottom 4 sides with 10 men, and Vardy has only had 12 shots on target all season, despite scoring 9 of them

If you could only get vardy in for a hit this week, would you hold off?

Feels like a decent team for this weekend that would mainly benefit from Otamendi out?
Then vardy in for a hit next week.

    VVD Otamendi Lundstram

I wouldn't bring Vardy in for a hit
Averaging 2 goal attempts per game, similar to previous seasons
He is converting 45% of those attempts into goals, but that is abnormally high - if it moves back to averages over the last few seasons that suggests a goal every 2 games, which is fine but not sure justifies a hit

Evening all. 2 FT. 0.9m ITB.

    Pope
    TAA / Pereira / Lundstram
    Mané / KDB / Maddison / Mount
    Vardy / Wilson / Abraham

    Button // Boly* / Rico / Cantwell

Not sure of my best move...

    A) Wilson/Maddison/Boly > Connelly/Sterling/Janmaat (-4)
    B) Wilson/Boly > Maupay/Robertson
    C) Other?

A is interesting, as I could play Janmaat in GW12. (Most other fixtures are poo.) However it's a downgrade I'll likely want to move back to Robertson, and that'll likely be via dropping Sterling/KDB... so is it pointless?

C is good, although I have a benching headache. Reluctant to bench Lundstram for that fixture, can't bench the Liverpool defenders and... basically not sure who else.

Look at someone other than Robertson?

    Help!

I was going to save but im starting to get some ideas.. Which option is the best:

    A) save
    B) Maddison > Martial
    C) Wilson > Rashford
    D) Dendoncker > Yarmolenko, bench Wilson + benching headache going forward

    Ryan
    Soyuncu - TAA - Lundstram
    Mount - Maddison - Sterling - KDB
    Wilson - Vardy - Abraham
    (Digne, Lascelles, Dendoncker)
