The Dugout Discussion opens for the concluding fixture of Gameweek 34, which sees 17th placed Wigan Athletic travel down the 3rd placed Arsenal. The team news for the game is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Djourou, Vermaelen, Andre Santos, Song, Arteta, Walcott, Rosicky, Benayoun, van Persie.

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour, Moses, Di Santo, Gomez.

A single change from the side that brushed Wolves aside for the Gunners, as Tomas Rosicky comes in for Aaron Ramsey in midfield.

Despite condemning Manchester United to only their fourth defeat of the season, Shaun Maloney isn’t in the visitors squad. Jordi Gomez replaces the Malaysian born Scot.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

It's believable that Tevez could score more points in the next 2 games than the DGW strikers (Suarez, Adebayor, Jelavic and Cisse) can score in their next 3 games.

You do that sleep thing. Wigan are probably the most on form team in the league right now, maybe behind City and not far above united. I think Chelsea will let in at least 2, especially with all the injury problems in the back and a tough midweek game to wear them out. Maybe just Mclean or Sess to Barfa would be a more reasonable choice. And looking at the coming fixtures and Rooneys form id feel much better getting rid of him than RVP. Last gameweeks hes been saved by very dubious penalty calls.

    Right, quick poll guys:

    A)
    Rooney > Cisse
McClean > Dempsey (4 point hit)

    B)
    Rooney > Aguero/Tevez
Walcott > Dempsey (4 point hit)

    C)
    Ade > Cisse
    Valencia > Dempsey

My rivals all have Cisse as opposed to my Ade and have both Dempsey and Walcott. Feel they may get Tevez/Aguero in too!

      Why isn't C a 4 point hit?

I'm not sure Demps is worth a hit over Walcott, I think he could do alright against Chelsea, also wary about losing Valencia.

I think after tonight RVP isn't a very good player and also Franco Di Santo is a world class player so I think I'm going to get Franco Di Santo in for RVP becuase RVP only got 2 points tonight and Di Santo scored a goal which proves that Di Santo is better than RVP so I'm doing the transfer tonight before RVP's value inevitably goes down.

Agree with Wayne out, personally considering it too. Hes playing quite deep and has been saved by pens in the last gameweeks. Also RVP has better fixtures coming. I also feel good I dont have to make that decision and have all 3 since he could hit form again after being called out by SAF

Tonight makes my decision not to captain Tevez extremely frustrating. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted to have gotten 26 points in 2 games from him but handing him the armband would have seen me cut my rival's mini-league lead from 32 to 2 just like that. Instead, I am 19 points behind and I guess over a thousand places below in the overall rankings from where I could have been. Would also have been my first 100 pointer. I was very tempted to captain Tevez but got blinded by RVP at home to Wigan in the last game of the week. Its still been an excellent week but has certainly ended on a sour note.

Never mind, on to next week. Weimann(c) anybody? 😀

Play Vorm(bol) or Friedel(qpr). Which ever one you choose I will play the opposite because that is how random this keeper rotation is. Cheers

    Recommend me two transfers?

    Vorm • Sorenson
    Vermaelen • Evans • Caulker • Turner • Simpson
    Valencia • Walcott • Bale • Sessegnon • Sigurdsson
    RVP • Rooney • Cisse

    Bank: £0.1m

Trying to boost my rank up at this stage, nothing to play for.

My team is very similar I swapped Walcott for Dempsey which I am now slightly regretting but screw it Fulham have a DGW.

I have Ben Arfa over sess.

My biggest worry is I have no Man City players and not sure I can part with Rooney - > Tevez for a 0.4mil hit.

Definitely worth getting a spurs defender in for DGW I reckon.

Silva has a run of poor form, we shipped him.
Bale was bit iffy, we shipped him.
RvP is having a dry spell, we ship him.

No one is a season keeper.

Nothing to see here folks, move along please.

yet people don't see it. I made the mistake of holding Silva 2 or 3 GWs too long based on previous performances.

You can not keep players based on what they have done, or might do. Players lose form it happens., RvP has been incredible this season, biut 1 penalty in 5 games equates to poor form. Look at the FPL strikers when sorted by form.

I agree. But everyone has an opinion, thats what people are like. I remember plenty of frothey naysayers laughing at people who transferred in Walcott for Bale.. saying the exact same thing that people are today about taking RvP out.

You just have to make your own decisions and forget everyone else.

when will people realise that rvp has lost form.
people took 10GWs to realise silva has nothing to contribute and sold him.
and now it is rvp's turn.

    form over fixture.
and rvp haven't scored a goal from open goal for 5 matches, loads of more in form striker atm. with dgw or not

Guys, can I please ask for plenty of responses to this? Love this board despite the downsides :P.

    GW35 (Bank: 1 FT and £1.1m)
    Krul
    Kompany Caulker Evans
    Dempsey(c) Bale Siggy Valencia
    Cisse Rooney VanPersie

    Subs: Mig, Verm, Sagna, Surman

I have got about a 100pt lead in my ML so I'm pretty comfortable now. It's perhaps a risk but like many I'm contemplating one of Rooney/RVP > > > Aguero/Tevez. My nearest rivals all have Rooney whereas RVP is less popular (quite a few have Aguero in his place). Struggling to decide what to do this week.

My current thoughts are... save a transfer . Boring but I am a pretty conservative FPL player. Do you agree? Am I pussying out? Thanks in advance for replies.

All logic says rooney out for Aguero. Roon has a poor record against Everton and has tougher run of fixtures than any of the big 3 strikers.
Saying that, I feel good that I dont have to make that decision.

Not going to do the City striker plan - keeping with the double free transfer for the dgw myself.
