Scoutcast Episode 319 – Mane replacements and Wildcard planning

He tore a hamstring, then broke our hearts. Sadio Mane’s (£12.3m) injury in Liverpool’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers has ruined many Fantasy Premier League managers’ Double Gameweek 24.

It is understandable that the many Mane owners, in particular those who handed the midfielder their Triple Captain chip, were after some tender loving care from the Scoutcast crew.

Our trio of Joe, Az and FPL Family’s Lee try their best to lift the community’s spirits as they consider the best replacements for the winger.

With a lack of choice among premium assets in the centre of the park, budget options take centre stage, with an eye on pricey picks elsewhere in their squads.

Mane’s injury is likely set to sideline him for the next week or two, which has prompted some to deploy their second Wildcard.

This episode takes in the best players to consider for Wildcardees and also aims to help those yet to use this chip, to find the optimal time to wield it during the season run-in. This discussion also takes in upcoming blank and double Gameweeks, with the picture slowly starting to take shape.

One team we know will have a blank fixture, in Gameweek 28, is Sheffield United, as Aston Villa’s Carabao Cup victory this week means that the West Midlands side’s forthcoming encounter with Chris Wilder’s troops needs to be postponed. The Scoutcast crew consider the best Blades to opt for, given their otherwise splendid schedule.

Elsewhere, Lee takes his turn to pick a differential for the next four Gameweeks, there are clean sheets to consider, and transfer and captaincy plans are revealed.

        Me too hehe. I have like a 60 point gap to mini league rivals cause I’ve made some good decisions these last few weeks. Gap could be closed so much if he hauls cause they have Salah TC and me Mane. I’ll feel hard done by hahah

        He deserves that. For spending money on Fred/De Maria/Sanchez/Pogba/Bailey/Felliaini

        For letting go Herrera on free. For giving mourinho a new deal in December & sacking within next months. For concentrating more on commercial deals than actual football related aspects. Old Trafford could do with some rearrangement which will make fans more at ease on matchdays like City (never been but read that) and do many more Reasons ....

        We have spent a lot of money and failed yes. But we'll be back !!

            De maria was a coward. Couldn't fare with PL at all.
            Sanchez started to slow down at Arsenal in his last season for you guys. So i don't agree with that.

            Yes, pogba is the best attacking midfielder we have. But goes AWOL in many matches. Strolls on the pitch after losing balls in the midfield. I'd love him if he runs & tackles the guy with some passion. He's a good player with attitude of a Egoistic Teenager. We don't need that.

            Chanting against Woodward is absolutely fine for me. How the hell fans are supposed to show there displeasure then??
            Attacking his house was stupid yeah. Don't blame whole fansbase though for mistake of some idiots.

            I haven't watched him play. Yes. His stats are bloody awesome though. Sheer involvement in goals & assists is mental. He's best player in his previous League.

            We can be hopeful. A good right winger + CDM and we have a Top 4 team IMO. Let's see how it goes

    what your opinion about B.Fernandes lads??As a Portuguese i think he deserve better than Sporting but he could have gone to FCP...(haha)..oh well...
