If it wasn’t for the frost in Blackpool, we’d all be sitting down right now to take in the Saturday evening treat that would’ve seen Ian Holloway go head to head with Sir Alex Ferguson. Instead, the Seasiders’ showdown with Man United can be anticipated as our first double gameweek, which allows to Arsenal sit proudly atop the Premier League till next weekend.

Arsene Wenger can give thanks to a fellow-Frenchman this evening, as Samir Nasri -with a quite sensational double enough to see off a resilient Fulham at the Emirates- continues to produce the form of his life for the Gunners. Nasri has scored four goals in his last three games, which takes his league total to eight already, and as a result of being awarded the three Bonus Points today, is the fourth highest-scoring midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

This form has not gone unnoticed, and the 150,00 Fantasy Managers who transferred Nasri in last week will feel their decision was more than vindicated with a performance that has returned 30 points for those who took the decision to hand him the captain’s armband. Such displays have considerably lessened the blow of losing Cesc Fabregas to yet another hamstring problem for Wenger and certainly benefits the Fantasy budget big-time, with Nasri priced at £7.9m compared to Fabregas‘ £11.8m.

Nasri is due a price rise tonight, though, but is still clearly outstanding value for money at present. Even upon the return of Fabregas, there is an argument to suggest he is performing well enough to perhaps even be considered as a better acquisition than Cesc, given his price, points returns and relative fitness.

The Gunners have a tough time over the next few gameweeks which will test their title credentials to the full: (mun, STK, CHE, wig, bir, MCY) but in a season where they can lose at home to Newcastle and West Brom and still hit the top come December, Arsenal are showing the ability to dig in and fight.

Credit must also be given to Jermaine Beckford, whose goal prevented Chelsea returning to first place. Having been slaughtered in some quarters for his woeful finishing against West Brom last week, the ex-Leeds man came up with the late equaliser that sees the champions in third place instead.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Glad I did Fabs to Nasri this week. I just need a cleanie from Simpson, Konchesky to get a cleanie and an assist and Wellbeck to get a hat-trick. Please and thank you.

Here's one for all you buggumarkers - I don't believe that Balotelli will be a big success in the Premier League, wasn't impressed at all today. He might have the odd big week but I'm predicting Berbatov style returns (2,2,2,10,2,2,2,15 etc).

My team is terrible for next week... And there aren't any decent captain choices out there either.

The best idea I can come up with is Drogba OUT Rooney (c) IN, but that would leave me with 3 Utd players for Chelsea away the following weekend, which would be a disgrace.

'Lad' is often used in Ireland as a term for penis - for example 'get your lad out' [girls often shout that across the road to me]. So I take his use of 'lad' to be that.

        Shaddup.

Fortunately he's fairly retarded, otherwise we'd have probably lost at the end there... Our second half performance was pathetic, completely and utterly spineless. Half the players looked like they didn't want to be there.

Fair play to Everton though, they were excellent, much better without Arteta and Heitinga in the middle, and Coleman did a good job on Cashley. Hopefully he did enough to keep his place for next weekend.

I ended up laughing at Bosingwa + Kalou's attempts to stop Baines + Pienaar running riot, it was embarrassing.

For a player to get sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, you need to first create a clear goalscoring opportunity.

If United or Chelsea had managed to do that at Eastlands, they may have achieved the same result.

Behave. Alex missed a sitter and Ivan hit the post at Eastlands for us, and Drogba would have been able to tap in from 3 yards if Boyata hadn't hauled him down..

Genuine question here, I haven't seen any replays, but was the consensus that Howard should have been sent off? And what about the possible penalty on Cole? That looked a decent shout from where I was....

Cole was assaulted. Should have been a pen. But it also meant Coleman would have been out next week

                Howard was a yellow

"But it also meant Coleman would have been out next week"

Well that's all very well then... It doesn't matter that Chelsea were cheated by the refs again if Coleman is able to play Wigan next week.

It's not like Coleman's tackle made any difference to Cole, the ball was already gone. Had he done nothing, it would have been the same outcome.

I watched the game live on tv, no way should Howard have been sent off. Anelka ran into him, it was a penalty, but a red card would have been extremely harsh.

I need to sell Drogba or will lose another 0.1 from his sale value. I currently have Elmander and Piquionne upfront, should I do Drogba to Carrol as he rises tonight, and Piquionne to Torres next week?

    Suggestions welcome.

Is Bale going to receive an assist for his free kick? Also, I thought Coleman was the assist for Everton's goal?

Proper protection equals no price change either up or down can happen.

+1 on SuperDunny's comment on the WBA v Newcastle game.

Surely it has a high scoring game written all over it:
    - Both defences have the ability to capitulate
    - Both will have highlighted this game as winnable.
    - Both have had solid seasons but being only 5 points above the mire their league positions aren't worry free. They can't take any chances.
