Allsvenskan Fantasy

Fantasy Allsvenskan GW11 Pre-match Preamble

Oh, the joys of hitting a century in fantasy football… That moment when everything seems to come together, the stars align, and your players take to the pitch and do just what you’d like them to do every week – score a bunch of points. It’s truly something magical about it, and it’s a high that, for me at least, makes the bad Gameweeks a lot more tolerable and brings out that special feeling that we somehow actually know what we’re doing, and are being rewarded for it.

Yes, I played the powerful “Park the Bus” chip in Gameweek 10 and it’s safe to say I’m still buzzing after a 108-pointer which saw me reach a Gameweek rank of 25 as well as shoot me up the rankings, roughly 6000 places. I’m still far away from where I’d like to be, but this season, I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

With a new Gameweek just around the corner today at 12.30 CET, there is little time to enjoy the heroics of the past though. Rather, now is the time to take stock of my squad, identify the weak spots and gradually start shifting them out for the next big thing. I got rid of Muamer Tankovic last week as a Hammarby attacking treble was reaping no rewards. Alexander Kacaniklic is on the chopping blocks but a nice run of fixtures with Örebro (H), Helsingborg (a) and Falkenberg (H) might make me wait a little bit longer, perhaps foolishly so.

This Gameweek contains quite a bit of interesting games from a purely footballing point of view, with two big derbies taking place in the form of AIK-Djurgården and Häcken-Göteborg. Fantasy-wise, they are a bit harder to call. Surprise package Sirius entertains a Malmö side who are starting to look really good again now that Ola Toivonen is up and running, while Norrköping travels to a Falkenberg side who are starting to develop a habit of scoring goals late on.

I’ll put my faith firmly in Sead Haksabanovic for the captaincy once more and while I have no hope of breaching the 100-point barrier, I think we’re in for a fun Gameweek with a lot of attacking returns regardless!

Scout picks for Gameweek 11 can be found here.

Ahhh what a complete fantasy joke this derby turned out to be for me!

First, IKT dives in the box. Instead of a booking and -1p, he wins a penalty and +3p. He then sets up AC for a great chance, but AC misses. Would have earned me 10p, instead IKT gets +1p for big chance created. AC then sets up IKT who hits the post (would have been another +6p), and seconds later IKT scores but assisted by Berget instead. Gives my mate a 30p swing in the ML I thought I had already won...

...and the icing on the cake - Toivonen stomping on an opponent, but instead of a red card, he ends up with an assist an and another offensive bonus point.

Bad luck and poor judgement carried on through this evening as well. Sirius and Elfsborg clean sheets wiped out in 87th and 88th minute, costing me 9p. Sugita missed a couple of good chances, one set up by Björnström, Irandust subbed at halftime and Haksabanovic, who I obviously should have captained when I got the AC news, with an assist and 4p. At least I got returns from Karlsson and an amazin 4p bonus from Johan Larsson.

Don't know why Irandust was subbed, but he didn't look injuried when the first half was over. Jesper Karlsson got a knee in his back but was able to keep playing for a few minutes at least. They could be doubts for next round, along with Vecchia. If they're all fit, I got some serious benching headache coming up, with Witry, Haksa and AC all back in the line.up again.

Rank about the same as before this round, but with a few no-shows like Jonsson and Vecchia I expect the auto-subs to turn the arrows red tomorrow.

Hope you all had a good round!

Cheers for the Karlsson info. I hadn't realised that

He looked tired/in pain when leaving the pitch, but that's how he's been looking when being subbed off for the past 3-4 games, so there shouldn't be an issue.

What's more "worrying" is that he, as far as I can recall, wasn't on any set pieces apart from free kicks at shooting distance. Corners and crossing free kicks was handled by Johan Larsson, which mainly explains that Karlsson got 0 crosses and 0 keypasses, while Johan Larsson got 3 of each and grabbed a doubble attacking bonus.

Sounds like a tough ride. Guess I'm meant to feel lucky as a Berget owner?

Can’t wait for my Captain Björnström to make the points rain down on me.

What's everyone strategy towards malmo's fixtures?
Is it IKT, a defender and AC? Or Berger? Which defender -
Franz Brosson? Anyone punting on Amin Sarr?

I'm going with Ahmedhodzic and AC, but that's mostly because I just can't afford anyone els. If on a wildcard, I'd try to fit in a third one as well, but I'd not go for anyone apart from Dahlin, Ahmedhodzic, AC, IKT, Toivonen and potentially Larsson or Berget. The rest are just too big of a rotation risk IMO, and you'll need your players to play the games, especially in a season like this.

Malmö always prioritize Europe highly, and wont take any risks to fail in the qualifiers. The games in Allsvenskan are all winnable with rotation, so I'd be carefull, at least when the Europa League qualifiers starts. I was planning on getting IKT in for GW17 in order to play the "Attack" chip, but don't think I trust him to start as the game is squeezed in between two european games.

I think the ideal three would be Ahmedhodzic, AC and IKT, but I wouldn't change my entire team or take a hit to get one of them in. Many people still own Nyman, and for them, a straight swap for IKT could be a good option.

Hey Bob thanks for such a detailed and astute reply. Would not have known malmo prioritised europe. Wonder if we could benefit from the rotated players instead haha too much guesswork though

Haha yeah, it's always been an issue with Malmö, especially players like Traustason, Rieks, Berget, Antonsson and Molins. At least Gall isn't there anymore. That GW17 fixture against Falkenberg got "Rotation" written all over it!

Just wanna double check is the last gw to use the first WC this week or next week?

      1. MTPockets
          3 years, 8 months ago

I was just wondering this. For some reason thought I had a while left, but it's 2-15 so last gw is next week (15). And there doesn't seem to be any summer break so not sure what the summer transfer window is.

It's weird cos I have 2fts and don't really feel in any need or Trish to use it!

I could do with tidying up GK/Kaca but otherwise same. Feels like it will be a waste next gw and won't use it this week as could see reverse benchings to last one.

Is Kaca to Sugita and Selmani to Söderlund for free a good move? I already own Vecchia

I think so. If I could do Kaca + Abraham/Sylisufaj to Sugita + Soderlund for free I would (and also already own Vecchia, so assuming he's fit to play)

Anybody know the reason of Sirius keeper Jonsson's no show in midweek?

Irandust's half-time withdrawal a worry or simply a case of managing minutes during this congested schedule?

Jonsson was dropped. Made a howler against Kalmar, another one against Malmö and then two more against Elfsborg. After that game coach Rydström made that classic comment that "We got two good keepers..." (the same as Djurgården coach Bergstrand did when he dropped Vaiho for PK) so I actually wasn't suprised to see him dropped. Viscosi came in and played well, so I asume he'll start on monday again.

I havn't heard anything about Irandust though. Didn't watch the game but replayed the last 5 minutes of the first half to see if he picked up some sort of injury, which he didn't. During those 5 minutes I thought he was fantastic, but looked very tired, so perhaps it was just fatigues. He's in the squad today, and if we're lucky maybe we can get the line-up in time to see if he starts. If he do, I'll probablt put the armband on him. Tough competition though, with safe picks like AC and Sead competing with players like Sugita and Jesper Karlsson.

Hagg, Nyman, ludwigsson > Rasheed, Karlsson, Soderlund (-4) done. Bring on the gw!

            Rasheed
            Witry, Lauritsen, Ahmedhodzic, Bjornstrom
            Haksa (K), Christiansen, Berget, Sugita
            Karlsson, Soderlund

            4.0, Widgren, Jansson, Abraham

            WC time next gw 🙂

Made a -8 straight after last gw.
Kind of stupid then but now with the AIK news it feels a bit better as Larsson and Abraham would have been starters for me.

Is it likely Vecchia plays this GW? Could transfer him out for Sugita if not. Also thinking about replacing Widgren; is Björnström a good replacement?

I also have the WC yet to be played. Should I use it this GW, or the next? With two FTs I might get away with waiting one more GW, but it's always tempting to sort out a few issues in the team.

              Bråtveit
              Witry – Ahmedhodic – Lauritsen – Widgren
              Vecchia – Christiansen – Haksabanovic
              Karlsson – Abraham – Nyman
              (Nilsson – Väisänen – Jansson – Löfquist)

I'm also wondering about Vecchia. Hopefully, we get Häcken lineups so I can act accordingly with Wålemark.

I was wondering who would be the best option to replace Kacaniklic. I was thinking Levi but Sofascore says he was replaced because he was injured? He has amazing stats per 90 minutes but minutes are the issue. The obvious choice is Sugita with short-term fixtures. Already maxed on Djurgården so Ulvestad is not an option. Bahoui - not sure.

Not really interested in Irandust but maybe I should be, with those next three fixtures.
